I had to smile when I saw the golden egg thingy; when I was a kid I once got something like that as a free gift in a comic, it was a coloured disc with cord through it which made a pretty pattern as you spun it. Rock on Barry!
Hello Barry, One trick when cooking a cracked egg shell (especially when the egg is too cold and the water is too hot). Just add a tbsp or two of vinegar to the water, and the egg white won't be spreading like crazy when getting cooked ;)
I do think the throw egg actually has a really good concept, I don’t like the yellow part of hard boil eggs because of the powdery texture so I don’t get the proteins from it but having the two mixed together would get rid of the powdery texture
Hey Barry! You should really know that there is a difference in cooking something for X amount of minutes in the microwave compared to doing it in 1 minute parts. I've seen you do this multiple times before. Cooking something for 4 minutes in one go will cook it a LOT better than just doing it one 1 minute at a time 4 times over. It's pretty basic microwave knowledge.
Hey Barry! Love your videos! You add salt to add flavour/seasoning to the water, not to lower the boiling point - in fact, it actually raises the boiling point. You can see this when your boiling water for pasta, and as you put the salt in before the pasta, you will notice it will bubble less, or even stop boiling :) Love your videos!
Barry, when you boil eggs, add a splash of plain vinegar to the water when it's cold. If your egg has a crack, the acidulated water will made anything that tries to escape the shell to harden instantly. When the egg is cooked, just pick off the tiny bit that is stuck to the shell. All of your eggs will turn out well, and the vinegary smell dissipates quickly. Love your videos. Cheers!
I’m from the Netherlands 🇳🇱, and about 5 days ago i was seeing your youtube channel and now i’m already 5 days watching no other videos then yours, this is sooo amazing!!! I love it! Keep going this is so great!
Being a 'Merican all my life, I like my bacon chewy, just to the point of crispy. I'm not one for dry crispy, and I don't like limp chewy, but firm chewy. You know what I mean... ;O)
I have the bacon wave and love it. it's the same as the one you tested but has holes at the ends to out skewers through the bacon to hold it and place and it doesn't shrink.
Barry you have no clue how AMAZING these videos are. I absolutely love them, they make me smile and laugh and make my day a little better. You say in the end how there are hours of these videos, and yes, I do watch them by the hour 😂😂 thank you for doing what you do and being who you are. Much love for your channel
The egg spinner reminds me of something we used to do as kids. We used to put a piece of string through two holes in a button and then spin it like that.
Salt doesn't help the water boiling point but it does help get the shell off by slightly breaking down the layers between the egg and the shell :) same way with bi-carb soda
It actually increases the boiling point, although not by very much. However its also worth noting that salt has a much lower specific heat capacity than water, meaning the same volume of salt water will heat quicker than pure water (a pinch of salt is by a long way not enough to make a noticeable difference though). However you could achieve the same effect by just using less water.
Trash Corner if you ate anything grilled like grilled cheese in any fancy restaurants it's made with mayo on outside. Mayo leave a slightly richer taste over butter and is much easier to spread. Literally tastes almost identical when cooked for grilled chease.
While that is true, you'd have to add a very large amount of salt to make it even somewhat noticeably faster, so unless you're willing to waste your money on loads of salt in exchange for a slightly faster cooking time, there's really no point
The bacon you used is probably wet cured (saline solution is injected into the meat) rather than dry cured (meat is scored and salt is rubbed into it,it's then left for the salt to draw moisture out) maybe dry cured would work better.
G'day from Australia Barry! Love these videos mate, top trick for grilled cheese is to chuck it in the microwave for 45 seconds before putting in the pan. It seals it and makes it extra melted so it's easy to flip and there's no raw/unmelted cheese inside
To get *Golden* eggs instead of _green_ eggs: Place eggs in *unsalted* _cold_ water. Bring to rolling boil. Remove from heat, cover and let sit for 13 minutes. Rinse in cold water. Perfect *Golden* eggs without a hint of green.
Salt in the water doesn't make it boil faster, but it does make pasta tastier. Also, another tip: Crack the egg just before dropping it into the ice water. It causes the egg to draw water in under the shell as it contracts and makes peeling easier.
Can we make Barry's expression at 15:30 a meme and call it "Bad Idea Barry?" He has such a "this was a bad idea, it knew it was before I did, so why did I do it." face there.

Hello Barry,

"krokante bacon in slechts enkele minuten" is dutch and it means crispy bacon in just a couple of minutes.
ideaal voor o.a means ideal for e.g. bacon en eieren means bacon and eggs and salade garnering means salad garnish
een minuut per reepje means one minute per strip
I do think the throw egg actually has a really good concept, I don’t like the yellow part of hard boil eggs because of the powdery texture so I don’t get the proteins from it but having the two mixed together would get rid of the powdery texture

ive had the colour changing egg timer for years xD
I really appreciate all of your puns. Love them!
on the milestone episodes like 25, 50, 75, and 100 do a bit longer episode
The colour egg timer is one of the brilliant and have had one for years .
For the salt/pepper shakers, 3 holes is pepper, 1 or 2 hole(s) is salt :D
K l that interesting .. Mainly because I'm used to 3 holes for the pepper and multiple holes ( 5 or more) for the salt
I’m from the Netherlands 🇳🇱, and about 5 days ago i was seeing your youtube channel and now i’m already 5 days watching no other videos then yours, this is sooo amazing!!! I love it! Keep going this is so great!
The bacon gadget is also from the Netherlands!! It says: crispy bacon in a few minutes!
Being a 'Merican all my life, I like my bacon chewy, just to the point of crispy. I'm not one for dry crispy, and I don't like limp chewy, but firm chewy.
You know what I mean... ;O)
I love kitchen gadget testing!!!! Thank you Barry!
Ashens would have a field day reading that pidgin english for the golden egg product. haha
As someone who is terrible at peeling vegetables those gloves look like a good product to try out!
.... put your gloves on and rub your carrots thoroughly folks.... it's kitchen gadget testing with uncle tommy
The golden egg instructions had me crying with laughter! 🤣
I love how you read out dutch as if it's german 😂
I have the bacon wave and love it. it's the same as the one you tested but has holes at the ends to out skewers through the bacon to hold it and place and it doesn't shrink.

you could completely saturate the water with salt and it wouldn't raise the boiling point by a degree
Yes it does, it can raise it by approximately 2 degrees. www.reference.com/science/salt-make-water-boil-faster-abec508cff423e26
Cameron said it wouldn't raise the boiling temp. I said it would. The faster energy consumption didn't come into it.
just be careful with the soda because that can increase the egg's sulfuric nature.
This is the first kitchen gadget testing and its really cool. Thanks
People are going to say why did you give your dogs raw bacon dogs can eat raw stuff
Buddy The elf it was smoked bacon and like I said before wolves in the wild do not cook their meat lol 😂
Kay cleo imagine wolves sittin round a camp fire, roasting a pig. Weirdly adorable
Panda Playz bacon is safe to eat for everyone because the process of turning to bacon from pork uses smoking and salt
How Boston is sat at the end is so cute
Didn't know you were on the Gadgie Show :O
facefister69 why is this your name with a profile of mufasa?!? stop ruining my childhood!
I'm Norwegian, My name is Facefi Ster and I was born in 1969.
This seems very coincidental
I have the egg gadget as I could never do a runny egg. it was either really uncooked or hard boiled. now it's perfect every time!
That shirt really brings out his eyes! I mean.. n-not that I was looking..
I have the color changing egg timer. I love it!
Who else is binge watching these vids?! XD 🙋🏻
🙋🏻♀️
Nashville TN USA ... I love watching your videos... brightens my day
the face reminds me of BN biscuits
19:17 when he says this feels sinister I honestly don’t know if he’s talking about cutting it horizontally or cutting the face
try mayo instead of butter on your bread for the grilled cheese.
good god why would you do that
Jeff Griffin sometimes I put miracle whip inside the sandwich with the cheese, it is soooo good. Never tried mayo on the outside though.
I'm glad you said that because my whole life I've liked mayonnaise but now I know that you in particular don't like it....I hate it too
snark snark snark

Gotta love that late night upload for us
I was somehow unsubscribed!!!! :(
oh really, that's been happening a lot to me and other channels recently
+My Virgin Kitchen yeah me too
hopie46064 me too😔
I remember that happened to me once
I don't know if salt speed up boiling water, but it should prevent egg shell from cracking during boiling process.
You know who's special?
Look at the first word!🤓
Mae Donovan thanks!
Mae Donovan pretty sure that's an insult
Salt makes water boil more slowly! Vinegar helps to stop eggs cracking when boiling!
To be fair, I always boil pasta in salty water, just cos it tastes nicer.
adding salt makes the water impure and raises the boiling point, therefore your food cooks quicker as the water is able to get hotter :)
While that is true, you'd have to add a very large amount of salt to make it even somewhat noticeably faster, so unless you're willing to waste your money on loads of salt in exchange for a slightly faster cooking time, there's really no point
I love the kitchen gadget testing videos, so many ideas for the kitchen
Is anyone else irrationally upset that he cut the sandwich wrong (aka not diagonally as all sandwiches should be)?
Lizifer Morningstar no
No.there is a way you are supossed to cut a sandwich?
"As all sandwiches should be". What kind of logic is that?
your pugs are so adorable
The bacon you used is probably wet cured (saline solution is injected into the meat) rather than dry cured (meat is scored and salt is rubbed into it,it's then left for the salt to draw moisture out) maybe dry cured would work better.
Egg spinner reminds me of a toy I use to play with as a youngster. Love watching your videos by the way.
I love your kitchen gadget videos Barry
I always look forward to your kitchen gadget testing videos! It just makes my day! Keep it up!
G'day from Australia Barry! Love these videos mate, top trick for grilled cheese is to chuck it in the microwave for 45 seconds before putting in the pan. It seals it and makes it extra melted so it's easy to flip and there's no raw/unmelted cheese inside

Love them Barry. Huggers the Puggers. God Bless Barry and Family!
That wrestling ring salt and pepper is awesome, I need to try and get that.
Your impression of verucas father from willy wonka was priceless😂😂😂

Super funny! love the last one!
I love that the gloves only take off the dirt of the vegetables and not so much of the flesh like a pealer or knife
Put a little vinegar in the water when boiling eggs. It makes any white that leaks out set more quickly and cause less foam.
