When you grew up in the 80s with this music, it's not just the great tunes, it's the memories of your teens/20s that it brings back. You can't ever get that back again, except just a snippet of it when you listen to these songs again.
If you like that nostalgic feeling, then give it a”Tokyo Rose” a listen. It’s performed by Idle Eyes, and the video is a classic. You two will have this tune in your head for the rest of the day….. and then some.
We just saw Wang Chung with a bunch of other bands (Bow Wow Wow, Thomas Dolby, The Tubes, Men Without Hats, Thompson Twins...) and each got to play their best 4-5 songs. A blast. 80's music at its best. Also showed that each could still put on a show.
I actually heard this the other day at Walmart and thought that you guys would probably enjoy it. Over 40 years later and I still remember almost all the lyrics. This song was huge back then.
@@blavan9582 Same! Everything about that song reminds me of my youth. If only it were possible to travel back and relive that era over again. They were the best times ever! It's such a privilege to have experienced that.

Yep, one of the most under-rated albums of the 80s. Killer from beginning to end. And different from anything Wang Chung had done previously. And perfect for that movie. It took that movie from being very good to being great.
I was STUNNED; The young lady with the black hat putting a flower in her lapel at 6:25 area was a Dead Ringer for my own Mother in late 40's early 50's!! Love Wang Chung... this is one of their best! Great Reaction, You Guys! :)
Im so glad i got to grow up in the 80s the music was so fresh and original. My teen years started in the 80s, these songs bring back such great memories.
Loved this song from Wang Chung, and glad you enjoyed. Wang Chung has another excellent song you need to check out called "Let's Go." It was their last top 10 hit back in 1987.
Yeah the other video is the common one that was always played back when it came out..i dunno when they decided this was the official one, maybe this one was used elsewhere and the one we recall was US only, who knows.
@@TimothySmiths Some other artists did the same. Icehouse has 2 versions of the video for Crazy. And Chicago and 2 for "I dont want to live without your love" LOL
Somewhere along the line Amber became one of the most beautiful young women on UA-cam! I don't know what she did but she sure did something! You are absolutely gorgeous, Amber!
It seemed like this song was everywhere in the best way the spring/summer of ‘84. So wonderfully ‘80s hearing it again all these years later. Wow. 40 years later!
I was a teenager from 1983 to 1989. I too love these 80s songs. By the way you need to change your name to @michaeljordanisthegoat23( I am just joking and having some fun with you😊, not trying to start a debate here ) Wilt was definitely amazing.
Wang Chung was so much fun and so energetic. My favorite words in any song ever are in this song: "Take your baby by the wrist. And in her mouth an amethyst" LOVE IT!
Wow, glad you guys hit this one. It came out in '82 when I was 13. In psychology, it said that most of the music that stays with us throughout is the ones we hear when we're between the ages of 12 to 15. What a flood of memories this brought back. Incidentally, they also played my grad night in 1987, at Disney's Epcot center. What a blast! 🤘🎵🤯
This is my favorite Wang Chung song! The 80's were full of happy music!! Nothing too emotional or dramatic, just, as Katrina and The Waves said, Walking on Sunshine!
That sparkly creature that hatched from the disco ball inspired a Halloween custome back in college (which I brought back the next year cause it was such a hit!)
The way of playing violin that Jay was talking about is a very quick pizzicato style. I played violin for 10 years. In classical music, that is very commonly used.
Now I have to go watch the movie To Live and Die In LA. Again. Wang Chung did the soundtrack and it is one of the most amazing soundtracks ever recorded.
This is a beautiful and poignant song. I've always regarded it as a bit of nostalgia from the narrator's point of view.... Talking about how he and his love were young and hip and "cool on craze" (i.e. up on the current trends). It's a sweet recollection of a joyful, innocent youthful experience... Before we were jaded and everything was new and involving
I realize this is the official video on Wang Chung's site, but this is not the video that got play on MTV back in the day. The video I remember took place in a ballroom.
Yes! The one where the woman emerges from the mirror ball, but she's also made of mirror ball? I think the video above was for the u.k. audience, and they realized that they needed something different for MTV😄
This is Wang Chung's best hit! A great, beautiful song. #16 1983 A classic now, but at the time so much great music with Prince, Madonna, Human League, Huey Lewis, etc.
Wow! I had no idea that this song was from Wang Chung. Every time I've heard this I got David Bowie vibes. This is the first time seeing the video, I've only listened to the song on the radio. Also, it's a song where I've clearly misheard the lyrics. I've been hearing Dance Hall Days as Dance All Day. I'm usually pretty good with knowing the artist or the song title, but this one got me.
There is a second video of this song. A concept video that is much better than this one. It was shown on MTV back in the day. This song was always my favorite Wang Chung song.
Love this song. It's one of those that always seems to pop into my head every once and awhile. Please Please do: Pet Shop Boys - "Being Boring" (it's a vibe)
Another great nostalgic song from the 80s Dream Academy - "Life In A Northern Town"
top 5 80s song, there.
Great Song!

You should check out their song, To Live and Die in L.A., title track from the '85 movie.
I've also recommended this song!
Great movie!
Agreed!
You beat me to it!
Oh, yes. Really good movie and song. I forgot they sang this.
OMG never thought you would check this one out. This song was so huge in the 80s and brings back so many great memories. Thank you 🤘
Never heard it. Cool song. Reminds me of "Touchy" by A-ha for some reason
