Most my injuries stem from this sport as well lol! That’s super cool though! I hope you do it. I will say converting a gas dirt bike is a very viable option as well and is my next build
when you said it feels like going from the vevor controller to the Kelley kvd i was instantly sold. i remember the first time i got on my bike with the kelley and could not believe the difference a good tune makes. now if only they would come back in stock.....
Sure is a bummer that they seem to suffer from stocking issues and a tad bit from quality. If you don’t mind a little fab work QS motors are definitely a fantastic choice!
@@ReuterLithium I’ve been looking at the qs motors too but I’m not sure how to use them with my controller and I’m not sure how well they’re gonna work
Just found this channel and turns out we’re doing the exact same thing I just picked up a mx500 of fb marketplace and replaced shocks, forks and about to be handles but I’m definitely gonna stay subbed and tuned in to see what else you come up with , keep up the amazing work
Thanks Bro! Honestly don’t care for Razor, but I don’t feel guilty cutting this thing up and doing something else. Great platform to get your feet wet in the electric motorcycle world. Despite being in the EV automotive world, it’s very different
It’s a really nice drop in motor for the razor swing arm. I was a week away from fabricating for the QS90, but just didn’t have it in me to change this setup yet again
Great video! This is pretty much the same riding I like to do hit local trails and around town cruising. I often overheat in the woods with the e&c my1020+ and the new metal 76v battery they have. Pretty annoying almost getting bucked off into a tree when it cuts out and then have to wait to let it cool to get going again. Even sometimes just on throttle street driving it will cut on me lol. Have you had any problems with the ec4p at all yet? It seems to be pretty bulletproof from the videos I’ve seen. I got my finger on the checkout button 😂
Interested how this motor is holding up after a few months. I’m in a similar boat with 12/14 wheels , Pitbike brakes , so much more drag than a stock setup. Very curious how it handles the heat. I’m afraid with the bigger wheels , and riding off-road will make it overheat. I’m on the fence of going easy drop in with the ec4p or more custom with the qs165.
Well it’s holding up fine for temp. I’ve had some issues when I switched to a fardriver controller I’m still working through. Would I buy it again for a razor…. Yes. However, I would pick QS over this. Also QS165 and this are very far apart. This actually compares more to a QS90
Not max current but continuous amps. Which is pretty low. I have since changed the settings to 100 amps continuous and 280 phase amps and the new motor never has an issue
I know your mostly trail riding, but I’m curious about speed, not so much too speed but what speed are you able to cruise at? Thanks for taking your time to make videos for us.
Thanks for taking the time to watch! Well I can tell you the following. With my 9 tooth front I get top 34mph. If I install my 11 tooth I get 41, and last if I install my 13 I get 48mph All this on a full or almost full battery
I'm waiting for my EC4P to be delivered. Are you running a t8f chain . What did the temp on the KVD7212NX look like. On my bike, when I climbed hill's it was the controller that would heat up. Enjoyed the video .
T8F absolutely! Even that I think is a little undersized for what I’m running. I should probably check the controller more often, but I’ve never done anything more than a touch by hand test. I wonder if your gap between battery amps and bus current is too far apart. If your controller has to make up the amps it will get hot!
@Nick's Garage Builds my battery can do 170amp discharge. 60v 54ah 170amps discharge. It mostly overheats climbing hills. I live in Pennsylvania, and it not actually flat. What controller are you looking at running. And how much of a size difference. Dimensions wise.
Going to mess with fardriver next. Probably won’t keep going crazy on this Razor though. I got another dirt bike electrification project I’m a little more excited to start on. Love the Razor platform for what it is
@Nick's Garage Builds I had failed back surgery. I wife made me sell my bike. And she won't let me get a new one after I had a pain pump installed. So I built the Razors so I can have something to ride. I'm redoing my RSF650 and building to MX650 supermoto builds for my grown sons. One with Indian plastics. I just want to cruise around between 40-45mph. That's why I only built 60v batteries.
I know this is probably a weird question but how tall are you? I'm looking to build my mx650 for a better fit to my size and with a more powerful motor.
Nah valid question if you’re looking for how you want to do your setup. I’m 5’11” on a good day. I will say even if you stretch the swing arm or put larger forks on you are still left with the smaller sized frame. Not a lot you can do about that. Add some drop pegs can help a little
@NicksGarageBuilds plans are 735mm front forks, 6" stretch on rear with 240mm shock, 17 front wheel and 14 rear. And lowering the pegs. I'm 6ft 3 everything helps haha I make my mt07 look small ans that's a full size motorcycle 😅
You don’t have to do anything crazy. I had to tweak the mounts the seat tabs slide into. The plastics bolt up on the tank pretty good. Had some extra spacers from mounting a tv that worked well. I was working on an in depth video of that install as well
Tell me about it. I see dudes crank out 1 to 2 videos a week! Family life and my super aggressive job come first. Love making videos but sleep plays a factor lol
Sorry I didn’t measure it. Not real thick that’s for sure. I reinforced it with thick Channel and staggered my welds. Been holding up really good so far
Personally I don’t think it is well suited for 16”. Given the size of my bike it is already probably pushing this motor. We’ll see as I have a bigger battery coming in
@@vijaykorvekar1009 your talking about a frame that comes stock woth 10in wheels. You won't be able to fit larger wheels at all without a swing arm extension.
I must be the one I'm talking about way you can keep your own battery they said it only goes 30 35 depending on the rider, not worth it it's almost$1000
bro the engine was fantastic unfortunately I can't buy it because as I'm from Brazil the company doesn't ship to Brazil and of course it would be very expensive not to mention the taxes that are cruel here 😂
That's awesome! Thank you for sharing all the insights.. Struggled with many MYxxxx motors for years, great to see a better options.
For sure! Honestly I didn’t even go into many specs because it was such a fun ride. Kinda forgot about even reviewing anything!
love your video man im getting the ec4p asap just by looking at this video i can feel it
Thanks! Honestly I don’t promote any company’s, but I will say that this motor has been solid. Almost 1 year in and my big bike still hasn’t ruined it
just one more question do you feel like its powerful enough to lift the front of the bike because i also have upgraded forks?@@ReuterLithium
With a 72v battery minimum 150amps continuous yes
Look at all the work you put into that razor
You should post more often. Love your vids.
I know. Work has just been insane for me for the last 3 weeks. Hoping to hop back on this within the month

What size rear sprocket are you running here? I'm assuming it's from Rebel Gears? If you have a different source for sprockets could you share?
That was an 80 tooth T8F from electric scooter parts. I have since switched to Rebel who makes a much more quality sprocket
@@ReuterLithiumDid the ESP in the video do OK while you had it though?
Yes it just binds with the chain and it’s not nearly as fancy as the Rebel gears.

What rear wheel do you use?
It was just a cheap one from Amazon
amzn.to/3uasjnb
Was it hard to wire it up? Does it have the same connections as the my1020?
The connection for the hall sensor was wired for the Kelly controller. So not the same as MY1020, but plugged right in for me

@Nick's Garage Builds What gauge did you use to extend your swingarm .
What is the 0 to 50 mph acceleration
It won’t do 50mph with my gearing. I can put on a 13 tooth front sprocket and get almost 50, but I like the torque right now.
Which kit is it
It’s not a kit. I just bought the motor. Controller was just a kelly and battery is from a surron
How much was it and you never said how much it is

Too much lol. Honestly you could do this build for $1200 depending on how much you can do yourself. Electronics and front fork is basically $1100
