    the reverse thread pitch thing, screws and sprocket design is a super stretch lol. its designed to replace a my1020 and use the same sprockets. its definitely a my1020 repop but on serious steroids. it out performs all the junk style 1020/boma style motors by a long shot. i do agree there's downsides and upsides but this is an assassination attempt and not an actual unbiased breakdown. im all for learning but this video carries real crazy bad vibes. without actually trying the motor out and comparing after a breakdown and just guessing things, is crazy. keep up the content, just try and take a more unbiased attempt next time brotha.
    side note it definitely gets 11-15k rpm. ive run it up to 12 on mine.

      @de-bodgery yeah man it's the same design. Although it looks to be in rough super shape. Listen there's alot of good points and a lot of non-sense. It's like comparing a base model audi a3 to an rs3 from the regular can my1020 motor to the ec4p. The motor is made by kunray as well. No one is trying to reinvent the wheel with this motor. Spade is a spade you said it yourself. I know the quality is questionable, I was one of the first to receive it. And I tested it with the same controller and battery setup with a yula 2000w, boma 3000w, and an enc my1020+, even alternating sprockets. By far, and I seriously mean this, it outperforms the regular 1020 by a landslide. I've gotten mine up to 12k, and there were videos of a guy getting his to 14k just today in the groups. I'm not an enc fan boy by any means, but just cause you're looking at it and trying to sell your motors doesn't mean this one is junk, brotha. The bias is crazy. I love the content you make, but this one is out there, lol.

      FYI...that 1600w is the Top Power designation for a specific stator height and shell that is 135mm tall. The actual motor is seeing more like 10kw in real use. The stator winding looseness is absolutely horrible but the rest of this video is just… “discovering” that the EC4P is a modified/slightly modified Vevor/Kunray/BOMA… which is exactly what E&C says it is. It does have more phases and a larger stator ID, so calling it “the same” is kind of disingenuous. Its a slightly higher torque MY1020 form factor.

    • @de-bodgery
      @de-bodgery  Рік тому +3

      I watched my own video end to end to see if I said they are literally "the same motor" and I never do. I even point out the stator differences. I show many similarities in construction and design and say they are both from BOMA...aka the same manufacturer. I'm pretty clear about this! It's not disingenuous when you present similarities that show the same manufacturer made both products. That's called following evidence to a logical conclusion. "the same" is a an over simplification of what I say. I never say they are the same motor, not once. I say they come from the same manufacturer.

      Still has zip ties in it and the windings still need binding, but the Lightning Rods XL motor will out perform this turd, be better build quality, etc. It's also one of the TP-128 variants. If you include the size of the heat sink on the EC4P, The TP-128 is of simiular size. Thing is the EC4P is actually much smaller since a large portion of the space it takes up is all aluminum fins! That's what I would get.

    I just found this channel!! So cool!! I really look forward to picking your brain. You're don't happen to know what the thickness of the laminations are in this motor? Are they using multiple turns of fine gauge wire? I assume it's the exact same motor that vevor sells on their website, what do you think? I don't know about calling them junk though. I could spend the money on a QS 70H motor but it would weigh twice as much. Why not just upgrade my controller to a votol em50 and address some of the quality control issues you have pointed out. Even with a stock controller my little (and I do mean little) 3 wheelies if I am not careful even at 10mph. At zero mph that is not a surprise but at 10 mph I was quite shocked. I am hoping with a votol em30s controller, some filtered air flow and some cooling fins I can gain some efficiency that is the real shortfall of this setup. I have chain reduction set to 4.8:1 and rarely never use the 3rd speed setting on the 3 speed switch. So I don't think I need to worry too much about overheating but I want to know what you think. Considering how much power they are getting from a flipsky 6374 I think one of those on each rear wheel would be able to give me my 18-20mph all day long without overheating and save more weight. Several VESC engineers started an email campaign asking rather pointed questions about their controllers to make them come clean. I know they lied a good bit at first and wouldn't answer questions about anything. This just got people more convinced of the attempt to steal VESC. That jsut got the emails more pointed! There is now a public repository on github for their work. All they had to do was be honest! Why even bother trying to steal VESC? @de-bodgery The Vevor 1020d motor looks exactly like the Kunray. I have two of the 2000w motors and they came with internal fans. But those two motors use a lower amp setting on the controller. But they make more torque than the EC4P.

    • @de-bodgery
      @de-bodgery  Рік тому

      @@noce1071 Oh duh! lol...wasn't thinking of the 1020D...and yes..totally agree that's highly likely another BOMA motor! Torque is several things. You need magnets that are strong enough to repel or pull against the magnetic fields in the windings. Weak magnets make less torque than strong ones. IF your stator and windings are stronger than your magnets, any amount of current you apply to them that exceeds the strength of the magnets is useless. You can push more current than the iron in the stator teeth can turn into a magnetic field. This is called iron saturation. Again anything beyond the point of saturation and you are just wasting power. The diameter of the armature makes the lever longer or shorter and that mean more or less torque for the same applied current. All of these combined are what makes one motor stronger than another.

    The concept of the EC4P as an improved version of the MY1020 is good, but the execution not so much, particularly the rotor... too bad, as the TP128 etc are too heavy for custom light weight performance street bike builds IMO.
    I still may buy one of these, varnish both ends, drill the end caps, upgrade the bearings, and hope the magnets stay put. I have (3) 3000w MY1020s that i run at 7000w on the street to 45mph. Zero failures in several thousand miles. They run a bit hot but anyone going WOT for more than 15 seconds is asking for it... they're not the total crap this review purports.

    Not sure what people expect. E&C doesnt do manufacturing. They just find a manufacturer and send them custom specs. The manufacturer collaborates with E&C to make tweaks to the motor with already mass produced parts. Thats why you see this hodge podge. No way E&C can sell these motors at this price point if it were truly a ground-up design. A ground-up designed and produced motor for the tiny razor community would never happen. Theres not enough money in the market. No matter what "new" motor comes out, itll be a hodge podge.
