At the moment im trying to build a razor sx500 with a 8inch swingarm extension and put 16” and 17” wheels on it and everytime im stuck i always come back to this video. This build is genuinely impressive.
Funny cause I was just thinking about picking up something from like the 70’s to convert into a cruiser! To be honest you can likely build a 65 or 50cc for similar price and have a better setup
Thanks for the details im trying to build this style right now. Currently have the 6000w surronster kit on it with the 72v battery and a 9.5” shock and extended damping rods but need to get bigger tires extended swing arm and new triple clamp and forks. Just trying to make sure I get the right stuff
By far one of the best looking builds! Would love to do a builds based off yours!! Not sure if you have a full list of everything you did and the parts. Would be awesome
Darn I’ve seen a lot of builds this thing is great! The throttle is awesome! The forks you fitted with brakes 😮! On off switch nice! I hadn’t seen those plastics with seat placement super cool. You are awesome! 5 out of 5 exclamation points😊. I wish you lived in Boise area
Yeah I agree, but my ratio is already super high! My next video of some off roading shows that the MY1020, just can’t much more than 6kw. Good little motor for what they are
Sweet build. I'm planning an mx650 build with a 5000w 17" rear hub motor wheel and 17" fronts. Without the motor a hub wheel should fit. I think it'll be the first. Im looking at the swingarm extension but not sure if it's strong enough. Might have to take some weld lessons.
Bag ass man I'm currently planning a build but will be making my own lithium bank out of toshiba scib 10ah cells because of they're extremely powerful C rating on there discharge and recharge and you can pull 1000amps of current just off 1 cell rated at 2.3v nominal it charges upto 2.9v I'll be running 21 cells In a series configuration and using a icharger for the bms, charging and monitoring of the cells temp and life. Love your build!
Sounds very similar to the SPIM08 cells! Nice! I would definitely recommend that and a better motor. Since this video I actually went to the EC4P and got a 72V 200/300 amp discharge. May go to the QS120 though as the EC4P isn’t playing nicely with my Fardriver controller now
@Nick's Garage Builds what are you using for your speed controller and you should look into those cells man there small and LTO chemical compound but they are nasty they are the scib 10ah made by toshiba and they put out a max of 75c rate! And will discharge upto 1000amps at 2.8v max and 2.3v nominal
They sound like a sweet cell! I’ve built some 18650 packs, but it’s a ton of work. I kind of want those for my next project though! Thanks for the tip My controller I’m running the Fardriver 72450 now. I like the controller ability so far
So a stock razor MX 500 frame you can put the CRF 50 plastics and tool seat and they just bolt on no modifications needed?? Awesome looking build. I’m in the process of building a razor MX 500 pit bike do you recommend the extended swing arm? It looks nice
Yeah the plastics go on with very little work. Almost perfect. I certainly recommend a swing arm. They are pretty small bikes and that swing arm adds a ton of stability
Kinda and yes. The added height is for sure more comfortable, but in order for it to feel slightly bigger you may want add some drop pegs. I’m about 5’11” and it still feels off from like an 85cc dirt bike.
So stock bolt is 12mm and this wheel calls for a 15mm bearing ID. You can go 2 routes. I personally bought a new axle and just drilled out my swing arm for a 15mm bolt. The other option I never tried would be to find a bearing that fits, but goes to a 12mm diameter. Bolt if you go 15mm bolt route amzn.to/3tA0zbQ Replacement bearings that bring it to stock 12mm size. Then you should be able to reuse all hardware.will need 2 obviously amzn.to/3RLHuLM
How did you add the 4.5 inch extension on the rear swing arm. I think that is awesome for the bigger wheel and i'm really interested and doing the same to mine. Thanks man I appreciate any input you can share
So with this one I used 4 pieces of C channel. I’m currently doing another one for my buddy and we are making a in depth video on it. We used another swing arm that sleeves inside and has rear chain tension adjusters. I like that setup way better
Great video bro really like the bike prolly the best build i have seen did great on the size using the 735 mm firks with the 14 and 17 wheels looks more like a real bike than most razors that still looks like a kids toy due to height and size. My question is you seem to be running the my1020 moto i am assuming 72v3000w what is you battery voltage i am in process of similiar set up but more of a supermoto style bike but am running a 60v 26amh battery with fardriver controller and 72v 1020 motor
I have since swapped over to the EC4P from E&C and running the Fardriver 72450. I had a 72v battery from Amorge lined up as well, but in the end I decided against it. Instead I picked up a yz85 chassis to mess with. But in short my battery is 60v
Depending on what QS you get just make sure to get “hall sensor” type. I’ve moved on to Fardriver and I like it a lot. The ability to tune it much faster and easier. It also supports field weakening, which increases speed if you are interested in that
Hi I have two questions. First of all, where did you get the graphics for the crf50 plastics. And second of all, what controllers would you recommend over the kelly controllers
Those graphics are actually a wrap. I got the wrap off Amazon. I would say Fardriver for budget. I don’t have a crazy amount of experience in that many controllers yet. I’ve been reading good things about 3shul, but yet to buy
I made it myself with 4 pieces of C channel metal. A few guys in FB make them and do a much better job than I could regarding looks. My stuff won’t break, but I ain’t the prettiest welder
What was your top speed with your sprocket set up? I just set up mine with the same size tire and struggling with heating up the motor. Not sure if I should go 9t or 10t
I ran 9t for that very reason with that motor. I got around 28 I think. If you have the means I would go with the sotion or E&C motor. I don’t have any overheating anymore
I took C channel and staggered the pieces for strength, (so total of 4 pieces). If I stretch another one I would probably just cut the bent pipes on the stock one and make my whole lower part from scratch. Also would add the ability to adjust my chain from the rear wheel like a real motorcycle.
So a couple of guys sell forks and many other things for razor. They are super responsive and I drastically appreciate the work they have done to help in the razor community. rodrandd.com If they don’t have what you need just ask them!
Front forks are 735mm, (stock 550mm). Rear swing arm is extended and to make it match the front my rear shock is 220mm. Last was just adding a 17” front and 14” rear wheels.
By the way that bike is actually sick if you look at CBRacing that’s my Chanel and me and my friend post videos on our razors but I want mine to be bigger
Hi Julien and thanks for calling that out. I have filed a bug report with UA-cam, but it shows my verification as "pending" despite Google saying it's verified. The only solution I can offer is to copy the link and paste in a new window. Apologies
Like with rebound and compression? Mine have an adjuster at the top. Debatable if it actually does anything, but it possibly did. You kinda get what you pay for sometimes
@@ReuterLithium ahh I didn't realize that . The build came out very good. I'll have to follow In your footsteps . I have one over volted to 72 v, the motor didn't last all but a week but it was fun, I have an 8hp motor ordered and a larger pack I built 40ah 72v. Was looking for better brakes and suspension and your build is perfect.
I don’t remember cost, but I bought that from electric scooter parts. However I would call Rebel Gears. They make a damn good gear and you can just provide dimensions if you have a custom wheel
I cut the rails almost in half and cut the welds to the hoop for the shock. I than added a piece of Channel on both sides, 4 in total, and staggered them for strength. Than just welded it all up. If I did it again I would replace both lower rails with some 1x2 1/8 tubing and make rear adjustments for chain tension. This was my first attempt at stretching a swing arm
I work with anything, but I’ve come to love electric toys. Regarding papers I have no idea what your local laws are. There are certainly no papers on my bike, but that may just be ignorance
@@EthanMX08 I feel like you can’t go wrong with DNM RCP2 or JFOYH. I only like the ones with the small reservoir and adjustable. 60v is nominal voltage so at full charge it’s 67.2v. But yes that motor will run on anything from 48v to 96v from what I’ve seen
If i put a 17 inch front wheel on mine with upgraded forks, will the wheel hit the frame or fender if it bottoms out?
