It’s happened before. Lady with multiple kids and guys were very overt about why they wanted the woman to stay with them. This is the exact reason why we have women’s shelters.

If someone is homeless, that means: their family wouldn't take them in, their friends wouldn't take them in, no members of their community would take them in, and no homeless shelter (which is in the business of taking in the homeless) would take them in. So I have lived in California my whole life, and most of that time was spent in the San Francisco Bay Area. I would venture to guess that it is in the top 10, maybe top 5 most expensive places to live in the world. Most single adults rent rooms in larger homes everywhere I have lived in this state.
The least expensive apartment I ever had was on Nob Hill in San Francisco. The lease was from the 70’s and rent controlled, so the rent was $900/mo for a 1b/1ba and I had a roommate.
Housing is an absolute crisis in California and the US as a whole. That means American women need to be MORE protective of our spaces, not less.

He lived in his car, and he wanted me to meet him at an expensive deli that happened to be inside a grocery store. Rather than give him my phone number, I had let him add me on social media, so he'd use that to invite me out, including a three-day camping trip as a first date, or send me sob stories. Sure, he looked like Daniel Craig as in Bond, James Bond, but he totally underestimated my instinct for self-preservation and self-respect.
