I also find that odd. My ex husband used to stare at women while we were just riding around, in my car. I remember 1 day we were having a whole convo while i was driving down this 1 road. That’s true for most people, women included. Most of us are with those in our proximity. Most of us can’t get the ones “out of our league” unless we are truly that attractive [insert your ideal beauty standard example here] and frequenting wherever those types of men are. The difference with women is that we are willing to give the ugly ones a chance if they have all the cerebral and emotional traits we are looking for, are good providers, etc. and we can be faithful to that man even though he’s not our type physically. It's kind of like going out to dinner. Men want you like you want a nice pasta and steak dinner on Saturday night. Once you get done eating you push the dish away and think about taking a nap or some ice cream or something else. You don't stick the dish in your handbag and cling to it for life. Once a man has you, he's good for a little bit and wants to snack around even if you are his favorite dish he still needs the excitement of what to eat tomorrow. How to develop it? BY USING IT OFTEN, in scenarios where you are not under pressure... Also, acting skills; pretending to not have "seen anything", pretending to not know what a man is talking about, while planning your escape, etc. being able to act one way (calm and collected and "oblivious") while planning to act another way (get the HELL out of Dodge!) can also SAVE YOUR LIFE. This is where the traits of logicality and rationality and control over your emotions comes in; if you can't control your emotions, you can 'give yourself away' to an attacker. The more "tools" you have available to protect yourself, the BETTER!
I remember a truck driver that I process paperwork for said that same thing and (this was a lie but) I told him that the man I had dated previously said that exact thing of "I don't like women that wear weave and makeup. The guy is completely right. I went through that exact situation with a guy. If he speaks bad about his ex: he still has feelings for them. That’s true for most people, women included. Most of us are with those in our proximity. Most of us can’t get the ones “out of our league” unless we are truly that attractive [insert your ideal beauty standard example here] and frequenting wherever those types of men are. The difference with women is that we are willing to give the ugly ones a chance if they have all the cerebral and emotional traits we are looking for, are good providers, etc. and we can be faithful to that man even though he’s not our type physically. It's kind of like going out to dinner. Men want you like you want a nice pasta and steak dinner on Saturday night. Once you get done eating you push the dish away and think about taking a nap or some ice cream or something else. You don't stick the dish in your handbag and cling to it for life. This is true of anybody. If you don’t really like the person that’s interested in you, your body language and/or actions will show it before your words will. I’ll use myself as an example. There is this guy who is attracted to me at work. He’s not my type physically, financially, or culturally. He’s also much younger. I have zero interest and my actions and body language say as much, yet because he’s a nice guy and I don’t want to hurt his feelings, I haven’t told him to leave me the hell alone yet. I haven’t told him I’m interested either, but that’s not the point. He hasn’t heard a “no” yet, so he keeps trying, but if he paid attention, he’d see how obvious it was I’m not interested.
