So happy to have videos coming out again
I love how Tom Kizen is just randomly working with you in this video
i presume this is his house
Interesting pattern and so much work. Looks like you picked up another guy on your team and a great hat. Always enjoy watching all the beautiful construction you do.
Pivot. PIVOT!
The level of your skills never ceases to amaze me. You inspire me.
I was nervous for ya when you guys were carrying it in... turned out great!!!
The pattern reminds me of tuning forks, modern style for sure, very nice!
Really handsome. Don Draper would be proud to stay there.
Nice work Richard.
You've become a Craftsman and an Artisan! Beautiful work.
Wow! Kind of a Frank Lloyd esque railing. Looks great man, but wow! That looks like one expensive railing for an airbnb!😂
Have you seen what you can charge at an Airbnb?
Without googling it, name me 2 other architects lol
Louis Sullivan, Wainwright building in St. Louis and the Guaranty building in NY, and Craig Ellwood, who I don't care about but I know Chris Pratt tore down one of his houses in LA and everyone had a stroke.... don't ask for a 3rd because I have no idea 🤣. The only reason I know of Craig is because of the recent news
Has a real 1960 look to it. Not something I would prefer but I can appreciate why someone would and the craftsmanship.
Went to a lumber company this week for baseboard n capping. They had this same design in metal. They were nice enough to give me a catalog for HF House of Forgings Stair n Railings.
Beautiful. Is there going to be a handrail installed along the wall? Especially with an airbnb it will be necessary for safety and no lawsuits.
A great job, that requires a lot of skill and a lot of experience. Amazing.
Very cool build, don’t see this kind of design very often
Nice build! I bought the 8 amp batteries for the CSC50. Best buy ever, they last much longer.
Awesome work! I see more people wanting this design on their stairs!
You guys absolutely smashed it! Looks great!!
Nice work! Great to see a video close back to the roots of the channel. Excellent!
Projects like this are great for honing these techniques and styles. Well done.
Looks really good, your friend had a really great looking idea.
I love working with beechwood , I built a cabinet for cable box and disc player. Years ago, tv was mounted on the wall and the cabinet was mounted under the tv on the wall . Like I said years ago . Over time it became obsolete so it was turned into stand for my grandkids game tv at there camp . I made curve short legs for it blended the stain in and it was beautiful.
That's masterclass badass!!!!!
Always such clean work!
Cool project, just wondering about why you're finish sanding indoors? Wouldn't you get 99% of that done on the bench outside and just a minor touch up required from any installation marks?
Looks great man
fun process, cool detail, great results 👍🏽
Love the CSC50 - getting mine today!
WOW ALWAYS Impressive work!
I'll probably never build anything like that, but it sure was fun to watch! Thanks!! Blessings!!!
Nice to see a new video Richard, it came out beautifully as I’ve come to expect. Looking forward for more new content!
Awesome design and execution
simply aMAZEing
Very cool!! Awesome work bro!! 👍 👏
Looks ace dude 🤙
Unique pattern and very well executed.
HOW IS NOBODY TALKIN ABOUT THAT BEAUTY TRUCK SITTING IN THE BACKGROUND
you got a time stamp?
Wow, check out that beauty Truck in the background!
Wow. Look at that beauty of a truck in the background!
Since you're kinda adopting the euro carpenter style are you going to be switching to the metric system too?😂
Keep up the good work 👍
We deal with the stresses of particular material matter like you. I see that you put a huge emphasis on your clients desire or design. This project definitely brings back all the project nightmares we, as a whole, encountered from time to time. Now saying that… We must appreciate our clients request! They ask and we shall provide?! Eventually we as carpenters, contractors or handymen can excel in our industry.
Amazing as Always...
Very Cool!!! Looks Great… love the Domino. Enjoy your week..😎
Very nice demonstration
Just love that design, but still needs a handrail.
Getting a old roman vibe from thoes stairs love it :)
Rockin festool eh? Went to the dark side… nice work!
He switched out a few months ago yeah
He’s bilingual now - Yellow and Green.
Nice, thanks!
Nice freaking hat you had on. Lol..looks awesome and I have something similar I need to price for a client..thanks for the inspiration!
It’s not a design I would have selected but it’s an impressive work of art. 👍
BRAVO!!!!!!!!
It looks really solidly built too. Any time it's short-term rental you have to account for drunk'n'overweight ('Merica!) crashing down the stairs, it doesn't look like a callback though. Always fun to see you using the tools for what they're made for too. Nice one.
Man u like the Bob Ross of finish carpentry I'm a carpenter as well but your level of work is really top notch and you study historical articles carpentry blend the old style with modern tools too do efficient work with the old style craftsmanship it don't get no better than that!!
That os a cool design for a railing
Super!
The style is reminiscent if Charles Rennie Macintosh. A designer from Scotland way ahead of his time. Coincidentally some of his work is on display at the museum of fine arts in Houston.
Interesting design.
Interesting design and quite beautiful.
Pretty sweet design......
Hey Richard,
I noticed that you measure from right to left like I do. That must be a left handed person thing. Amazing work as always man!
Slick work, but I think I love that property even more.
Cool
Dominos seems like a perfect solution for all those pieces. Nice job!
Wow looks great and imagine how rich you would be if you saved on glue 😂
Sheeeeeshh 🤌✨
7:17 good for you being careful in the sun. I had a melanoma so I keep sunscreened up and wear a hat all the time.
T’s some nice looking Beech. Where do you buy the nice looking wood that you use? Is it all from Windsor One or someplace else?
Definitely 50s,60s vibe !!! Is that end straight piece by itself, or is there something to add near the bottom step ??
What’s the spacing between each baluster? Looks to maybe be larger than 4” on the video. I’m sure you already know this but you shouldn’t space the baluster further then 4” max cause it can be enough room for toddlers to fit through and fall. Also what about the actual hand rail? Any way really cool design that I may steal one day! Great work.
Wondering about the same. Guessing they don't have a building code where they are.
Yeah, I noticed that too
6” Sphere Rules
The exception to the 4 inch sphere rule is the gap created between the bottom run of infill and the 90 degree angle created where the rear of a stair tread meets a stair riser The rule states a 6 inch sphere should be unable to pass through this triangular gap.
great video
What kind of stands are you using for the table?
Cool.
Lol, 1970's is calling!
nice
Excellent job on the build, but I have to be honest, although it’s kinda cool, like something from the 70s, it wouldn’t be my style choice.
•He’s also still gonna need a handrail
Are your building guidelines for space in between balusters 4" in Texas.?
This newer fella talks much more than John, I don't think I'v ever heard John speak.
Absolutely love Festool for specialty stuff like the Kapex, Domino, Dust Extractors, etc… But man, it’s disappointing to see you using those cheesy Festool drivers over an M12 or M18.
Yeah, definitely don’t care much for the Festool drivers. I love my domino and kapex, but I still use my Dewalt impact and driver when I need to drill lol
@@terencemerritt Yup, red, blue, or yellow drill/driver over Festool green lol.
@@dodgerbrewtx exactly
👍
Omg, it's a beautiful railing. For some reason, I feel a drunken idiot is going to fall down and break it. People just don't treat other people's property well.
AIr BnB hosts can check out the person before they book - and deny them if they see either no previous reviews or reviews which may alert the host - say noise, cleanliness, etc. Drunken disorderly people do not last on Air BnB since hosts review the guests, and guests review the hosts. It's kind of self-policing.
You must work for air bnb..
@@TheUuhhh Naw, I'm just aware of some of the nuances of AIr BnB. Whoever invented it was pretty smart, and now rich.
@@TheUuhhh nope. Healthcare. But I was in construction and rental properties.
Doesn’t look like it complies with the building code…i.e. doesn’t meet 4” sphere test. You mentioned that the verticals are all spaced at 3.75”. Perfect! But the space at the bottom where tread meets riser looks to be more than 4”, especially on the starting tread where the yellow-topped glue bottle was sitting. Prove me wrong with a 4” ball. Otherwise….Beautiful!!
How long until you start using the metric system.😂❤
It’s not my style, but you did a nice job 👍.
Nice hat
Looks great, but does it meet code? It looks like more than 4" opening at the stair risers.
He said they were out in the country, where code doesn’t apply.
@@erk9822 maybe code doesn't apply, but since it's an Airbnb, he's going to have tenants. And with tenants comes potential liability. An attorney would have a field day if the stairs became an issue in Court. Code or no code.
@@RamblinRoadies I’m not sure how the legality would play out, I’m not a fan of building out of code even if you’re outside city limits
R312.1.3
Exception 1
The triangular openings at the open side of stair, formed by the riser, tread and bottom rail of a guard, shall not allow passage of a sphere 6 inches in diameter.
I can see issues with getting it insured for Airbnb if the insurance company sees it.
i like it but not where it is. the design would look great if you could see all of it. the flowing feature is lost having it half upstairs.
im suprised you put the dominoes that way . i would have went the other way to keep the faces flush and allow the play to adjust the miters
Are you hiring? I'm in the dfw area and would love to work with you.

Who's the new guy helping out?
Sure isn’t John 😔
It's looking good fellas 👌. I been out of view for a minute, I see you have a new guy ?
I can appreciate the execution of the work but I don’t want anything like this in my house.
Buddy say's Ive got a unique thing I want you to try.....All I hear is Scooby Doo..in my head as per your response...lol ... Ruorh....Sorry don't know how to spell Scooby Doo...lmao
Where’s John?
…will you also be installing hidden cameras anywhere inside?…
What? 😂
Pivot…… pivot…… pivot
Any chance you’ll be working on the Stud Pack house? You and Roger Wakefield are the only 2 pro UA-camrs I haven’t seen on there and you’re all in Texas.
the people who rent bnb to sell drugs will really appreciate that work
Doing a job for a friend - htat is the trickest part. It can ruin your friendship.
Not by building code
So many creative things can be done when you don’t have to comply with code….
That haircut tho, it looks so off
A waste of good material 😢
