    LOL never saw part 2 but I bought one after watching part 1! Funny enough I tried sand first time had Meh results! Then My pressure 2200psi washer died LOL So only other option was the big guns 4800 psi Was like Meh lets do this! Went to Harbor freight grabbed 3 bags garnet sand blasting media *mixed it in the sand 50/50*. I could of wrote my name 1/2 deep into steel with the thing! LOL Was watching you got sparks to! That thing was a full face shield sprayer at that point for sure. worked great to blast paint off a steel boat shell no issues! Did one side of a 35 foot steel boat hull in half hour. One other thing to add: I bought a coned pot for this thing! hose goes on bottom everything funnels to center for media! was like 20$ at HF worth it for sure!

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  2 роки тому

      What pot did you get at HF?

    • @BuildBreakFix
      @BuildBreakFix 2 роки тому

      @@TractorTech It does not look like HF has it anymore! I was going to link it! IT was a bucket that had a V shape to the bottom with feet! Center had a threaded fitting with other side barbed to hook a hose on. I saw a guy on youtube with one using it to feed sand .

    I would of liked to have seen you do that with half the bottom done with the regular pressure washer your useing no sand media and the other half with the media to really see side by side difference.

    💡Have to go slower with the sweeping motion to give it a chance to do it's thing, sweeping way too fast👍

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  2 роки тому

      I tired going slower and holding it in place even. That was as good as it would work.

  • @MrSparkums
    @MrSparkums 2 роки тому +2

    Should move much closer, slow down waving the wand all over 80% and you'll do much better. Also usually legit blaster attachment mfgs recommend 3500psi 3.5-4gpm..

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  2 роки тому

      I did hold it in one place and it didn't do any better. I changed over to a 3200 psi pressure washer.

    What I notice is you let your pressure washer run for extended periods. That can lead to burning your pump up

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  2 роки тому +2

      Yeah, they aren't supposed to run for more than 2 minutes without being used.

    Tips / ideas
    It seems that you are using the sand blasting attachment like a pressure washer, but when this attachment is added, it is no longer a pressure washer, but a sand blaster, and sand blasting takes a very long time. [ Professional results may vary, as they have most likely got an optimal setup for the entire process ]
    How to match the wet / vapor blasting attachment for a pressure washer
    Depending on where you got the sand blasting attachment for the pressure washer, it may or may not have asked you the orifice size. What the orifice size determines whether or not the attachment is compatible with the / your pressure washer. Its not the pressure washer that isnt compatible with the attachment, its the attachment [ orifice size ] that is not compatible with the pressure washer, regardless of the pressure washer psi / gpm

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  2 роки тому

      Yes, the tip size needs to match the pressure washer. I have it on a 3200psi pressure washer and it works much better.

    Good day mon ami 😉👍 That is a very intersting video ( I did know that washer sandblaster ever existed ) I wonder if it is safer to use like dry sandblaster can do ( toxic vapor ) from various soucers ( type of sand, material to be clean,,, ) Keep up your OUTSTANDING videos Sir Cheers 🍻👍😉

    Thanks for clear research done by you. The Physics of Sand Blasting depends on FRICTION of the grit on the target surface. Water reduces that friction. Sand Free Air under pressure strips off paint and rust oxides off surfaces of Jet propelled Aircraft in flight. So air driven sand complement each other and have excellent rust and paint removing capabilities. I believe that the ":Sand-Blasting" idea may have dawned upon guys that had observed the residual cleaning effect of Dust-Storms upon rusty vehicles left outside in a Sand Storm!
    Please protect your lungs at least with a spray-painters mask as sand grit like paint particles swirl around and circulate around your work area during the tests!

    How's she goin'> It was hard to see what you had done but it did look like it was knocking down the rust. I guess you would need a big pressure washer and a finer abrasive maybe. Thanks for posting.

      Sorry, it is starting to get dark fast. Tonight it was dark and I looked at the time and it was 8:15. I was thinking it may have not worked with the first pressure washer in this video because the abrasive was too heavy for it pick up.

    Late to the party, both these videos were great info, I’ve got a mid size washer, gotta refinish my ol bobcat and trailer, do you think it’s good for paint?

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  2 роки тому

      Paint is very hard to remove. With the right media it may do it. I know with a sand blast cabinet and glass beads, it is tough to remove good paint. Chemical stripping (aircraft remover) works well but the cost is high. Aircraft remover is available in gallons.

    Ever see a water jet cutting trough an inch of steel? It’s crazy. One thing about it is “; the water jet is pretty close to the stock material. My theory is , it looks like you were a lil far away most of the time except for those spots where you got down to bare metal… just my 2 cents. I’m about to try this myself with a 3k psi washer, most of the stuff in trying to strip is much less aggressive than that rust you have there. Thank you for your video and efforts. I feel way more motivated to try this now.
