When I first came upon Randy Hansen on UA-cam I instantly liked his performance. You are absolutely spot on about Renditions and interpretations of Jimi's music. He dresses like him,and his voice is very close in sound to Jimi's in my opinion.

I'm a 60 year old guitarist/Hendrix fanatic since the age of about 8. I heard of Randy Hansen decades ago, but had never actually heard him until recently. I'm stunned at how you actually pay tribute to Jimi, and yet add something absolutely beautiful along with it. The solo you played here in the outro after the last verse is my favorite part of this performance. My saying the outro is my favorite part of it is really saying something because I loved every part of this. This guy is a stunning guitarist.

The bass line here is just great! It does a wonderful job of filling in the "empty space" that live versions of this song almost always have during the guitar solos, since there can't be any rhythm guitar during them.

I politely disagree. Jimi lives on through this man and he brings his amazing music to new generations who wouldn’t otherwise get to experience this. There aren’t many live/well recorded examples of Hendrix to enjoy and Randy to me comes so close to Hendrix its unreal. Just my opinion.

Natürlich ist er von Bob Dylan (der im Video-Titel natürlich auch als erster genannt wird) - aber Randy covert hier explizit die Jimi Hendrix-Coverversion. Und die meisten Leute schauen sich gerade deswegen den Clip an. Nenn es Marketing.

This is good but it would be almost impossible to do justice to the original Hendrix studio version live with a three piece band - and that includes Hendrix himself. The "Electric Ladyland" version is such a studio production number and multi tracked to infinity. I guess the only way you could make up for this live with a three piece band would be via sheer volume, and I guess the RHB has that usually! 😎
