Nadal’s 2022 was amazing, i know he had a rough time after Wimbledon but apart from that his accomplishments were phenomenal, and in the long term it will be remembered as one of his greatest years i think
Definitely one of his most memorable as both of his slam runs were incredible, but objectively speaking it’s probably not even a top 5 season for Nadal. 2008, 2010, 2013, 2017, and 2019 were all seasons where he won 2 or 3 slams, finished #1 and won multiple Masters titles as well. In 2022 he won 2 slams, 1 500 and 1 250. You can make a decent argument that 2012, 2005 or 2009 were even better seasons. Still under the circumstances, winning that AO and RG on a bad foot against such stiff competition, along with a 20 match winning streak, and beating Fritz at the Wimbledon QFs with an ab tear, will all be remembered for a long time.
Opelka and Isner game was surreal. Literally aces after aces on a tie break. That is how comfortable these guys are with the serve xD
