If you turn of vibrations you can still get a pretty strong force feedback with it. The reason behind the louder FFB might be that maybe the G27 has faster motors and it can vibrate quicker. Although I'm really happy with mine, you just have to turn down FFB a bit to be quiet at night.

@@thefalloutfan I've already bought the G25 as it was cheaper but anyway its really good wheel with good force feedback I was on budget but still really nice wheel.
I get this rattle from my G27 in AC also. I get some rattles in iRacing with FFB turned up to 20+ when driving down a straight then braking hard so the wheels lock up. same noise like a vibrating clatter, I have been speaking to the seller of my G27 but I really don't want the faff of sending it back and I can't work out if this is normal or not or if my wheel is knackered. One thing I will advise is to push the stumps for clamping down and lock them in place, if you feel the locking stumps when not pressed they move / wobble and make some noise. Pushing them down then locking them in place with a slight turn stops them from rattling but of course this is a very minor difference made.
I like better the G25, In games (i-racing, automobilista, A.Corsa, ..rfactor2...and so) the FFB, and whatever these wheels can give to your hands, the G25 is Perfect. To me the G27 is like a broken G25
My G27 isn't that loud and banging. And i also don't use that much FFB. I feal every bump through it but it's never twitchy in an uncomfortable/ridiculous way. I really feel it but it's never as if the steering wheel is trying to break loose from your grip. Always trying to perfect the steering to be as smooth and accurate and still be as realistic as possible in the game, in that way everything feels right and the car does almost exactly what i want. The car and controls in 99% sync, the only thing i would wish for is if the steering wheel had is a steering lock function so you could adjust it to the game, because in racing the steering is locked to 180 or less degrees so it would be nice if i could lock my steering as well.
Roffel Swagman Try the g25. If you are in to realism and driving older cars. You need more force feedback to get the feel of the cars. g25 is much tronger. I had to modify my g27 to get rid of the wheel play and rattle sound when driving on curbs. Wheel play comes when turning/adjusting at high speed. This is because of the FFB going through heli cut gears witch moves. I know this because i have dismantle the g27 put a lot of work into getting rid of the rattle and wheel play. Now it only lack the power of the g25. I would trade my g27 in a g25 any day
same problem in g27, the feedback is more noisy when i turn right, thats a common problem for all g27. the noisy is made by a small white piston connected at the feedback engine. in internet there is a fix that usa a bolt and a screw
Hey, do you have any ideea why is your G27 calibrates twice during boot-up? I have the same issue with my G25 on a Asus M5a99x evo and it's driving me nuts. What mobo do you have?
Well, mine was bought from a buddy and it only calibrated once on startup, but at my place it does that twice. To be honest, I wish it didn't at all. It just sounds like it's going to break itself, not to mention it makes my monitor tremble on the desk and waking everybody in the house...stupid Logitech engineers.
Sssagaman your G27 sounds too noisy. I think it is faulty. Did you send back already? I have a DFGT and now i found a way to connect g25/g27 pedals to it. I have to buy a used one. That could be a strong combination, becuase that wheel is less loud than g24/g27 and there are a lot of buttons already located on it
I wish Logitech would release a new wheel. I am still using a Logitech Wingman Formula Force GP wheel. It still works like new. Logitech wheels last forever. But I don't really want to buy a G27 cause they have been around for at least 4 years. Still no news of a new wheel yet though so I guess I'm gonna have to buy the G27 simply for an upgrade. But it would be nice to see a newer wheel hit the market.
1:30 ye i think its normal because it does that in every wheel

My MOMO pedal's gave out on me. I'm buying a used G25 for a good price, it's an impulse buy. Is it a mistake not waiting and saving some more money for a used G27 or I'm fine with the G25. For example G27 would be around 60 euroes more over the used G25 price, but it's harder to find.
+Ivan Kolić I still use both wheels, well G25 is driven by bro. We both have custom diy homemade wooden playseats (finally we can drive them beasts as it's meant) and compete in assetto corsa against each other :) Both wheels are great, take cheaper one.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to pick up the G25 on Tuesday. I'm so stocked :) It's a huge difference over the MOMO wheel. I'm also playing AC.
Ivan Kolić you could also get DFGT as it uses same motors as G25 so FFB is good, also 900° rotation, has seq. shifter but the downside is plastic pedals (no clutch). Friend who races F1 mods in rFactor 2 is driving on it and has alien skills. Numerous guys claiming he's cheated (league racing) yet i've seen him in person at my house lap a fantastic lap on my G27 which he never drove before. He did mention a stronger ffb and better wheel though (apart from much stiffer brake pedal :D). But G27 does use helical gears, a bit different aproach to G25 but to me it's the same ffb in precision & strength. It's just that most G25 are a bit loud when turning wheel, yet another friend has picked a G25 which is almost silent. It's also a matter of how lucky you get with a pick :)

+Sssaga Benches Yeah I know about the DFGT. I can almost get a new one for the price of this used G25. But I want the stick shift and the clutch for manual transmission cars in AC. And I want to learn to heel toe. Also I hate the pedals on DFGT cause they're basically the same as MOMO's which have given me too much frustration with spiking, and modding with replacing pots.
I'm pretty sure that the reason that the G27 makes those noises is because of the helical gears that it has. This is why it is quieter than the G25 but makes those noises.
Yes. That's the downside. The G27 does that rattling when turning right because the teeth are angled to that direction but when you're turning left it's quiet. I have a G27 and i've had a half year experience with it and 1.5 years with a DFGT so i know what's what.
Gustav1337 My G27 has never made any noise... until recently it makes very quiet rattle sounds if the FFB is extra intense.. nothing anywhere near this and 99% of the time it's totally silent. I've had it for like four years.
Sssaga Benches On Gran Turismo 6 I currently use 8 (down from 9) out of 10, on LFS (which is the only PC sim I play right now) the FFB felt stronger than that wherever I had it set. (my settings were lost a while back and I haven't set it up again) I probably used it above the point of clipping on LFS more than a few times but there's no point to use it that high. I like strong FFB, though.
So the wheel makes noise only when the "feedback" thing is activated? What If I just deactivate it and play without feedback, will any of the wheels still make noises?
Sssaga Benches To not play with the sound... I really just want to shift and steer without any BS , last time I tested a wheel the FFB was just some "vibrations" and they were annoying. Also, now that Logitech released the G29 which isn't even compatible with older games all the stores in my country stopped selling G27 and G25, so my only chance is buying second-hand
Abra Cadabra Trust me, you'll want FFB. Problem is, you need good settings for best FFB possible in specific PC game/car. Run rFactor 2 demo (freeware) and you'll see the best possible FFB the G25/27/29 can give you :) Problem is that you need to lower (overall) FFB effects so the motors can output the proper feedback otherwise you get meesed up info in your hands if the FFB is too strong for both motors. Thus loud sound. Always run logitech profiler with fixed settings and do change only in game menu. That goes for all games. Or you could run specified settings in profiler for each game. I need hour or two just to get optimal FFB when i test new sim-racing game. Also, G25 has a bit different FFB as G27/G29 but all of them are in same league. No worth buying new G29 when you can get G25 in good shape for quarter the price.
+Sssaga Benches Which one do you prefer 25 or 27? I don't care about the noise as long as it is normal operation. Which do you think is more durable. Just wondering as I plan to buy used one and need to know what to look and listen for so as not to buy one that is near worn out on its last legs. Only issue I have read was center calibration issues which I believe can be easily fixed but lower the value of a used unit. Would improper FFB setting cause premature wear and tear? Anything else? Thanks for your advice in advance.
I just bought a g27 And it does not make noise like that. Has a lot more ffb though. If I set it to 200 degree rotation it can actually hurt hands. 450 degree is perfect for gt5 and gt6 though. The standard 900 degrees is too sloppy and the ffb is kinda weak
I own DFGT and its making that same noise but when turning left not right. Dealer says that it is the way it should be... To me it sems like there is something wrong with it.
I have a g25 but the force feedback motors sound wierd once I turn 45 degrees and is constant after that, any clues? Might just pull it apart again for the 5th time
Sssaga Benches I would assume so go knock on Solid wood and then knock on a solid METAL\ALU surface should be much more quiet... His desk rattles a little
I have mine on harder wood and it doesn't rattle a bit, Only the slight noise from the game, (besides the glitchy cars in Project cars) the karts mess with the wheel and it rattles to the point you can't play without all around turrning off force feedback.
if you have those additional ffb effects in AC turned on... like the kerb effect.. it's normal.. I personally turned them all off.. because that are just additional "fake" effects which they putted in because some people wanted these... but it is not the "truth" of whats happening so I turned them off and have just the pure "real" ffb which doesn't rattle like that.. and btw if you think this is bad.. try rfactor 2 without ffb smoother... lol.. I thought I can put my wheel into a trashbin after a drive there.. you think the wheel will explode :D
You are RIGHT on the money !! I do have a g27 my self and experience`d every single word you wrote in comparison to he g25.. But since the g25 is out of sale i made modifications to the g27. No rattle or wheel play in curbs or when turning between right and left at high speed withe very little movement but much force. It took me a day to dismantle and put it back, and still i would choose the g25 just because it has more force feedback power.
Just go for the g25 wheel. It`s a risky business to modify it. Im about to find a suitable replacement for this application and sell it as optional. I don`t want to reveal it before the option is available. But the wheel play and noise is going to disappear .
Yeah, thats something most people tend to do whenever they by something "expensive".. Just fall in love with the god damn thing. If you like to drive older cars, the bigger G27 gives more realistic feel to it with the ability of almost 100% more force feedback even with the bigger wheel. Because of the heli cut gears, some of the torque goes "horizontally", pushing the gears "sideways"... Don`t know if i explained this in a understandable way. Pardon my English (i`m from Norway) But please do the upgrade when i get the parts available. The buttons and noise reduction is a nice thing to have if you don`t live alone in the house.. :P
wally19 Whow, crazy. My g25 just gave out after 7 years too, and I also just got a g27. For me the FFB is not nearly as loud as the G25...However, to me it feels like the G27's FFB is not as sensitive when going over rumble strips for instance.
I'm not sure what you have done to your g27, but ive had mine for 4 years. i run FFB at 100% in project cars, and on iRacing pretty high also and my FFB isn't in anyway that noisy, never has been never was. I've never had a g25 so i cannot comment on that, but your g27, is unrealistically noisy.
I was almost going to order one of these. But thank's to your video and the response's here, I will not be ordering one. It seam's to me that Logitech has been going down hill as a company in the last few year's or so.
Both units are old verisons (G25 & G27). Later revisions are much better, friend's G25 acts much better vs this one shown in video. If you get the latest revisions of any of the units you should get it.

+Phijaga g27 is the biggest piece of shit. have you ever opened one up? £170 should be a good quality wheel. no. its cheap plastic shite on the inside. the lubricant they use makes the plastic brittle and will crack. cheap shite, customer support is useless and refused to replace it under warranty and instead go to the 'retailer to return it', sorry shithead but GAME had no information what so fucking ever on warranty returns. horrible customer support, horrible build quality, 'leather' steering wheel? LOL. its noisy, it grinds the gears and its a horrible wheel.
+Will D Hi Will, I find it is a good wheel, I have no problems. It isn't cracking, and it works good. You have very much metal, and that is good. Some places are with plastic. I have warranty for 3 years. I find, that the wheel is not horrible, It is better than the scrap G25. This is my opinion, and I will stay to this opinion.
+top memes Mate, 170 pound is super cheap for 3 pedals, a shifter and a wheel. If you want hardcore stuff that the pro's use expect to spend 1500 - 2000 USD on a steering system . 700-1000 on pedals. And then a shifter ranges anywhere from 200 - 500. You are buying a consumer product,of course it's plastic lol.
+wolfox712 Yup, just happend this week. The new G27 i got after i RMA'd the one in video has worn out i guess after quite a use in Dirt Rally. The evening before it worked great, no rattling or weird sounds/feel/feedback but another day i started it up with Mini classic in rallycross and the wheel went nuts with rattling - checked also in AC and did hear some rattling over curbs that wasn't present before. I'll see what i can do with it, but i know it's broken atm just like in video. Don't know if i can still RMA it (in time). The build quality of Logitech is just not the best. At least that goes for G27. Hence plastic-fantastic jokes. What i am trying to say is that G27 is better than G25 since it is really quite until it wears out. After it is worse than G25 and that wheel sound of G25 comes as a soft sound compared to horendous rattling of G27. Lowering FFB is NOT a help, it's like you need to play with FFB off.

Pushing them down then locking them in place with a slight turn stops them from rattling but of course this is a very minor difference made.
why is it jamming to the right like that?
I'm pretty new in the racing wheel stuff, is this normal?
No it's not normal but just turn it aggressively to the left and right and restart it

I like better the G25, In games (i-racing, automobilista, A.Corsa, ..rfactor2...and so) the FFB, and whatever these wheels can give to your hands, the G25 is Perfect.
To me the G27 is like a broken G25
Yea, and btw the g35 has the most ffb cause of the straighr gears inside, this is why it is so loud
I would trade my g27 in a g25 any day
same problem in g27, the feedback is more noisy when i turn right, thats a common problem for all g27. the noisy is made by a small white piston connected at the feedback engine. in internet there is a fix that usa a bolt and a screw
which one is which? which one was noisy and which one was ok?
G25 is the one with noise. g27 the other one
Hey, do you have any ideea why is your G27 calibrates twice during boot-up? I have the same issue with my G25 on a Asus M5a99x evo and it's driving me nuts. What mobo do you have?
I have no idea too. Faulty unit i guess or just G27 feature.
My mobo is Gigabyte EX58-UD5.
G25 calibrates only once also on Gigabyte MAFXT790-UD5P
Sssaga Benches My G27 only calibrates once upon startup
Well, mine was bought from a buddy and it only calibrated once on startup, but at my place it does that twice. To be honest, I wish it didn't at all. It just sounds like it's going to break itself, not to mention it makes my monitor tremble on the desk and waking everybody in the house...stupid Logitech engineers.
Twice and its normal for asus motherboard.
i think what happend with ur g 25 is the gears have worn so there is no grips on them
Sssagaman your G27 sounds too noisy. I think it is faulty. Did you send back already?
I have a DFGT and now i found a way to connect g25/g27 pedals to it. I have to buy a used one. That could be a strong combination, becuase that wheel is less loud than g24/g27 and there are a lot of buttons already located on it
I'd love to have the G27 because it looks so epic
@Draax Im guessing the G27 would be better than the other model since its an improved version?
Something is stuck in motor gears or a loose part may be you should open it and check?
RMA'd it and got new wheel. Still makes the same noises just at much lower level.
:/ they are making poor quality wheels now :P
2020?
what kind of program did you use in video ?
after all this time, what you prefer and recommend? G25 or G27?
Cheers
Whatever you get cheaper.
At least not as noisy as driving force GT but damn, it still does it's job.
The G27 has been refreshed. The only differences I can work out are the box.
The G25 is having a stroke while also having a mental shutdown
Which one you prefer by forcefeedback and vibratio for assetto corsa? g25 or 27?
So which one is the g27 and the g25 now? I´d like to buy myself one of those aswell and i dont really know whats less noisy/better now
***** Wow, i serously forgot to add that :/ I thought people knew it by default when searching pc wheel ^^
Anyway, 0:12 left=G27, right=G25
OP
1:30 ye i think its normal because it does that in every wheel
My MOMO pedal's gave out on me.
I'm buying a used G25 for a good price, it's an impulse buy.
Is it a mistake not waiting and saving some more money for a used G27 or I'm fine with the G25.
For example G27 would be around 60 euroes more over the used G25 price, but it's harder to find.
+Ivan Kolić I still use both wheels, well G25 is driven by bro. We both have custom diy homemade wooden playseats (finally we can drive them beasts as it's meant) and compete in assetto corsa against each other :)
Both wheels are great, take cheaper one.
Dawid
I'm pretty sure that the reason that the G27 makes those noises is because of the helical gears that it has. This is why it is quieter than the G25 but makes those noises.
Yes. That's the downside. The G27 does that rattling when turning right because the teeth are angled to that direction but when you're turning left it's quiet. I have a G27 and i've had a half year experience with it and 1.5 years with a DFGT so i know what's what.
Gustav1337
Thank You! Just what i wanted to hear.
Gustav1337 My G27 has never made any noise... until recently it makes very quiet rattle sounds if the FFB is extra intense.. nothing anywhere near this and 99% of the time it's totally silent. I've had it for like four years.
ConnorWolf Thanks for your feedback! May i ask what settings you use in LP (global & specific) and in-game.
Thank you!
It wont male any noise
+Abra Cadabra Why would you want to play without FFB? Just curious.
Abra Cadabra
Trust me, you'll want FFB. Problem is, you need good settings for best FFB possible in specific PC game/car.
Run rFactor 2 demo (freeware) and you'll see the best possible FFB the G25/27/29 can give you :)
Problem is that you need to lower (overall) FFB effects so the motors can output the proper feedback otherwise you get meesed up info in your hands if the FFB is too strong for both motors.
Just got mine in, been using it for a week. Maybe its your PC?
I just bought a g27 And it does not make noise like that. Has a lot more ffb though. If I set it to 200 degree rotation it can actually hurt hands. 450 degree is perfect for gt5 and gt6 though. The standard 900 degrees is too sloppy and the ffb is kinda weak
I had a problem with the FFB of my g27 but it fixed itself I don't know how.
I own DFGT and its making that same noise but when turning left not right. Dealer says that it is the way it should be... To me it sems like there is something wrong with it.
hey man i was wondering if you could use the g25 pedals on the g27 thanks

what are you doing when pushing the buttons at the beginning? really curious , never have seen this done.
how do you get g25 working on win 11
install the drivers in compatiblity mode if it not install normal
2:26 chainsaw
I have a g25 but the force feedback motors sound wierd once I turn 45 degrees and is constant after that, any clues? Might just pull it apart again for the 5th time
sounds like there's a washer loose where the wheel connects to the hub; where the top of the steering column would be
False on wood is the sound louder
Diepenth Diepe Are you trying to say that mounted on steel/aluminium bars it will be less louder?
Sssaga Benches I would assume so go knock on Solid wood and then knock on a solid METAL\ALU surface should be much more quiet... His desk rattles a little
Sssaga Benches The wood does rattle a lot, From how mines set up It doesn't rattle nearly as much.
XxTheUndeadxX 177 that can make a different
I have mine on harder wood and it doesn't rattle a bit, Only the slight noise from the game, (besides the glitchy cars in Project cars) the karts mess with the wheel and it rattles to the point you can't play without all around turrning off force feedback.
I had the same problem with the G27 at 1:23 , conslusion: Buying G29
Until you get same problem. G29 is NOT an improvement at all.
It was normal, just a ffb test, OMG, G27 was better than G29, in ffb, in button, in amount of things
if you have those additional ffb effects in AC turned on... like the kerb effect.. it's normal..
I personally turned them all off.. because that are just additional "fake" effects which they putted in because some people wanted these... but it is not the "truth" of whats happening so I turned them off and have just the pure "real" ffb which doesn't rattle like that..
and btw if you think this is bad.. try rfactor 2 without ffb smoother... lol.. I thought I can put my wheel into a trashbin after a drive there.. you think the wheel will explode :D
bro this is very nice video. you helped me decide what to buy thank you
Thank you. Do check description box for more info.
It doesn't like being touched by the looks of it
You are RIGHT on the money !!
I do have a g27 my self and experience`d every single word you wrote in comparison to he g25..
But since the g25 is out of sale i made modifications to the g27.
No rattle or wheel play in curbs or when turning between right and left at high speed withe very little movement but much force.
It took me a day to dismantle and put it back, and still i would choose the g25 just because it has more force feedback power.
majonesn
So there's nothing LEFT anymore to say about it, RIGHT?
^^
Sssaga Benches haha... LEFT a nice comment there ;)
Just go for the g25 wheel.
Pardon my English (i`m from Norway)
But please do the upgrade when i get the parts available. The buttons and noise reduction is a nice thing to have if you don`t live alone in the house.. :P
I will reveal the upgrade here within a few months i hope. Then you can choose to buy or diy. ;)
train more on the shifting, i'm not being a troll.
same here. My g25 is broken after 7 years, and i have a new g27 and the FFb is noisy as hell... is better in some aspects but is worse in others.
wally19 Whow, crazy.
Can u help me with a power adaptor. I am not having . So plz suggest me from which online site to buy in india
Have you found a solution to g27 problem?
I was almost going to order one of these. But thank's to your video and the response's here, I will not be ordering one. It seam's to me that Logitech has been going down hill as a company in the last few year's or so.
Both units are old verisons (G25 & G27). Later revisions are much better, friend's G25 acts much better vs this one shown in video. If you get the latest revisions of any of the units you should get it.
THAT THING IS ALIVE XDXD

is this a tesla or why is it moving by itself?
is g25 good wheel to take in 2017 (for 120$) ?
If in good condition, that is working.
thx for the info man, also ffb wise, is logitech gt wheel ok or shoud i go to g25/7? thnx
Ivan Grbavac definitely g25 or g27
i have a g25 till 8 years and its run fine ;) and it rattles till 8 years :D

The G27 can sound like that thing at the back of a butcher shop at times :)
MadCape nice one!
As you can see in the real world the sound difference between the two is minimal. Get some volume on there how it should be and you won’t hear neither
You are missing the point of this video. G27 is broken here.
Also, friend has G25 which is very silent and not loud like mine (G25).
Sssaga Benches i have a g25 and it really depends what you connect it to, I have a playseat evolution and you don’t get the bangs and vibrations like you do with connecting it to a work top
I have the G27 and I can say: It is the best wheel, I ever had. It is not faulty, and it works very silent! 100x better as the G25!
+Phijaga So no issues similar to the G27 in the video?
+Sssaga Benches
No
+Phijaga g27 is the biggest piece of shit. have you ever opened one up? £170 should be a good quality wheel. no. its cheap plastic shite on the inside. the lubricant they use makes the plastic brittle and will crack. cheap shite, customer support is useless and refused to replace it under warranty and instead go to the 'retailer to return it', sorry shithead but GAME had no information what so fucking ever on warranty returns. horrible customer support, horrible build quality, 'leather' steering wheel? LOL. its noisy, it grinds the gears and its a horrible wheel.
+Will D
Hi Will,
I find it is a good wheel, I have no problems.
You are buying a consumer product,of course it's plastic lol.
i hope you can turn off the "Rumble" Function.

I have a G27, that crazy thing doesn't happen so it's not normal. and yes I went on the profiler and properties.
happened to me..
and yes i did the same thing.
+Sssaga Benches but i bought mine barely used lol
