The necro change is needed, as a solo it will save you from the dreaded trade kills, but no longer will normal squads have to take 5 minutes off to fully burn every body after a large fight in fear of getting shot in the back. I am going to miss necro-ing teamates, but I am of the staunch opinion that mid combat revives is a skillset in this game, and look forward to that taking a precedence again as well.

I never use necro. I mean I tried it don't get me wrong, but Idk. Normal revives were always my forte in most games. solo revives were not the same thing in the slightest. Even tho I'm glad they added it to the game for the solo players, I think it was too good at wasting everyone's time after the 1st revive, including their own time ngl.
I'm just afraid the new change will make people even rattier than before. At least way back before it existed if you were loud (shooting AI) you were looking for a fight. Nowadays if you set off crows you're going to get into a 200m battle against the totally balanced mosin spitzer dolch boys bc that's all I ever fuckin play against
@@kevvdo2851 I think the main issue is that functionality took a step backwards with too many clicks to do something compared to the old one. They are fixing it though so hopefully will improve soon
Feels like a mobile game. Before, the old menu's felt more... immersive? Becuase they were small, discrete, and focused on your hunter at nearly all times. Now we have all these USELESS picture graphics for EACH option that take up a sixth of the screen.

Sure, Florida is very wet and swampy but Oregon and Washington in the far North (mainland USA) is also wet. The biggest distinction is East/West, with the West being far more mountainous and the East being massive spans of flat spaces where they grow stuff like corn.

It’s gonna be a great update. The ONLY thing I don’t like is the changes to looting, having it a 2 use rule was good for team coordinating, and you could see evidence of people going through an area if tool/ammo boxes were empty or half empty

No it's terrible. Bullet-drop will make it too frustrating for players to learn with muzzle velocity, weapon sway, and aimpunch. If your hunter gets burned, you might as well just quit the match or camp more to avoid getting into bad fights. Trapping extraction points and camping them will be way more commonplace and it's already bad as it is, especially since you can bring consumable boxes and not everyone wants to get vigilant. Even if you do, you have to stand still to disarm them which is not a desirable. The upcoming UI looks even more cluttered and confusing. The only good thing is the necromancer nerf as it was way too heavily abused.
Team coordinating? It was always first come first serve and your third team mate in the back gets screwed out of ammo. Like clues, the boxes will still open to show that they have been used but you will be able to actually use them yourself.
The current ui is bad if you're a console player, now we PC players get some kinda iphone / COD menu system that specially designed more for console players then PC players, can't say i'm thrilled, rather have had the option between ui's but i guess i have to get used to it ...
See I'm a PC player and I find the old UI very clunky and messy. Though having not used the new one it's hard to comment... We will see very soon though!

As a solo player, I am really looking forward to the necro changes. I was never a really big fan of standing up multiple times and I used to play back in the day when you only died once. Now I only have to worry about reviving once and it's the best possible revive you can get.
But are you ever going to be able to revive yourself even once when the other player just burns you quickly? I think necro is useless for solos and they could remove the trait...
this game is actual fun to play now :D I had an amazing gun battle together with my brother the other day. we wiped the whole server :) one that will go down in my books :) great game to play nowadays :)
i love the necro nerf but im sad to see theyre trying to make gun battles shorter. one if my favorite things about the game is that it can be extremely fast paced or slow and tense and “diplomatic”.
Yeah I was commenting the other day how I really enjoy those battles that just go on and on. Both teams rez a few times, do some damage, use all your meds. Hopefully that won't be gone completely.
@theforgeryttv6449 you do know that there was a time where burning a dead body was insanely fast and there were no smoke bombs? People didn't all the sudden start taking bad fights because their team mates burned slower.

Assuming the engine devs go by semantic versioning, the 5.11 version would in fact be called "five point eleven". It's not a decimal, it's a chain of numbers :P In this instance referencing the 11th minor version of the 5th major version.
Will this act like a separate game? Like do you have to actually go onto the system store and download this new version of the game, or will the old game just automatically update to the new version of hunt like a regular update….not sure this question makes sense but I don’t know how else to word it
Not sure about that unlimited Looting of Boxes and Hunters. It was a very nice aspect of the game, that you sometimes come to a resupply wagon and only get one ammo box because someone else looted everything. Made the game a little bit more "hardcore" in a very good way. Ammo Management got way to easy in the last updates and this makes it even easier...
I would like to hear their full reasoning for this one, purely because I don't really understand why they changed it. Other than to make it easier to rearm.
The hunters are fine. People are just going to burn every body now, which is easy with all the burn changes the last few months. Everyone good carries a flare pistol
You might have found out already, but basically you get the entire game included. What you don't get are many cosmetics without paying extra cash, so skins for weapons, items and hunters. Nothing pay to win.
Its and update of the original game, if you own the original you get a free update on steam. It's just a massive overhaul, rather than a brand new game.
Some people afraid of the headshot at any range change, but people are forgetting the fact that youll have to aim above your target thats constantly moving.
I think we need to see how it plays out, they will have all the stats and can see if it seems to be getting out of hand I guess. I don't mind it personally, though I might feel different if I get headshot every fight 😅
You mean the trait slots rather than upgrade points? If so you can't that's the maximum. If you want to change one you can sell one or more of the already taken ones for a small refund of upgrade points.

Going to be honest, not looking forward to bullet drop. The guns just aren’t designed for it imo. Same with the ammo box changes. Why unlimited instead of rule of three? Are enemies going to be able to use my ammo crate an unlimited number of times now too? Am I giving my enemy ammo when I place down a tool box or an ammo crate? Because that is… not a good idea. I still want people to be able to use the ammo crates of enemies don’t get me wrong, but if my whole team has resupplied that should be it. It should be empty.
Cheating happens in any MP game like this but I would not say wild at all. Of the hundreds of hours I have in game, I would say I have only truly seen 2 or 3 people I was certain were cheating. Though I don't play at 6 star... Might be worse there?

@@Bieggaoaivi Hunt prior to this update had its crosshair in the lower third od the screen rather than in the centre. Now the default is centre and the lower is optional.
We just played a game and the head shot at a 191 damage did not kill the dude. And my buddy was using the sparks. Not dimension another game we played I killed 2 people back-to-back and only got registered as one kill. The game is a bit buggy
Are you sure it was a headshot? With the bullet drop it might have hit elsewhere. Though I guess it showed as a headshot on the score screen then it must have registered as that, in that situation certainly screen shot it and report it to them on the official discord so thee is proof. It's been odd for me today though, so you aren't the only one experiencing bugs that's for sure.

If you have never played before it's a great game, it takes some getting into to learn the maps but it's very enjoyable even when you aren't winning all the time. Hopefully it will be on sale too maybe?
This year has been the best for gamers so far. I haven't touched Hunt for a while, i just recently was made aware of this overhaul and I'm so stoked. All this for free, I take my hat off and applaud the Devs. 👏👏
@@Ordo_Malleus The year is not over yet. So far we have Black Myth Wukong, First Descendant, Delta Force Hawk Ops, Arena Breakout, Stalker 2, Black Ops 6, Once Human, Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 and the Hunt overhaul. Delta and Arena are both in test mode but will fully release sometime this year.

That's a fair point, I remember when I first started playing my friend went to the effort of explaining the weapons with the best sights etc. I am not too fussy but was surprised to see it pop up in the video. I guess it's part of them making it more accessible like the central cross hair.
I honestly think new necro will be a buff to solos since you normally only get one chance to rez anyway and I’d much rather not be one tap to long ammo. (At least n 5-6* lobbies)
I dunno, I have had plenty of times where I have managed to get up more than once. Really depends what else is going on and how persistent the opponent is. However its a reasonable consideration. But yes I agree being fully healed does certainly have a benefit :)
Well there are times when multiple revives can really save you, but i think that getting only 1 revive is much more common, bc as soon as you revive, your enemies know about your perk and wont let you revive yourself more
yeah the multiple revives only be good when your killers are busy with other team using that situation for you to revive and run away to heal. the 1 time revive is aim to fix that problem. it would be annoying to fight extra enemies who you killed 2 times only for them to return and kill you and your team back.
You know, this game needs a finisher button on it, where if you shoot someone to zero health, they go down and writhe in pain on the ground. The mechanics of the game still consider them dead, so they have to be resurrected. But they writhe in pain on the ground and they grown and moan. Which will attract zombies and dogs if they are around, and the zombies and dogs can finish them off.. Or a player can walk up and cut scene style melee them for a finisher, or head shot them for a cutscene head shot execution. Since they are considered dead while they're down, it doesn't change the mechanics of the game. And it adds an extra element of noise to the game that could cause monsters to be more influential in circumstance. Could be a lot of fun.
That is something they are doing, you will only unlock weapon variants with XP. Custom ammo will auto unlock. I guess I didn't consider it major enough to slip in here :) Mainly something that will affect newer players I guess?
Looking from a max rep perspective, maybe it isn't a big deal but not everyone is sitting on 100 rep. This game is slowly getting recognition it deserves and it shows on steamcharts. Its safe to assume that the majority of the player base doesn't have max rep, because they started playing recently. I do not criticise you or anything, just a thought. I don't like the change to challenges It encouraged everyone to use more varied and interesting loadouts across the board But now with everyone grinding the same challenges, everyone's playstyle is going to shift massively. Imagine they introduce a challenge to get 3 kills with traps. How horrible is that week going to be? With the entire lobby playing traps? Apply that logic to anything and it doesnt sound good to me. It's better when everyone on the map is using something interesting, maybe something they wouldnt normally run, meaning loads of different playstyles at once instead of all the same
I agree with your point though it will be a bit crazy, other games do it like that and you can tell people sre doing such and such a quest. To be honest I find the way they do challenges in general is not great. It was never very noob friendly, with some really wild weapon type demands. If someone is learning a couple of weapon types at the start its really difficult to suddenly need to switch to a bow etc. Though I guess that's just a minor complaint.
Yeah now I have had hands on with it I am putting up a little discussion video... there are bits I like from the change.... but there are some REALLY weird choices which just seem bonkers on PC and were clearly made for a controller. Like lots of open space where buttons could be but there is an awkward scroll instead and the fact your loadout vanishes when you want to add something to it...

Necromancer was definitely an annoying perk,but damn,they just killed him,I as a solo player with no friends only with him had a chance for some advancement on the map,try to survive when you are rushed by 2 people while you are being eaten by zombies or bitten by witches flies. I would just make the corpse with the necromancer perk emit some kind of schizophrenic whisper or light up so that the enemies know that you can get up...But they decided to kill him completely,I don't understand why + they sped up the corpse burn speed, that's a direct x2 hit on solo players, not sure they know what they're doing.
as a solo only player. as someone that LOVES the state of the game this is just stupid. all these changes seem useless and quite honestly just fucking me as a solo. the updates out too so i can firmly say the game runs MUCH WORSE. i have a modern system and i can barely run the game now. (modern as in rtx 3060 standards) anyone can be downed from a headshot at any distance is again breaking the game by allowing people with compact bullets to snipe while also being more viable in close quarters... i personally just hate UI chnages no matter what after i get used to them so that part is bias. the chnages on the mines is nice but i feel people are gonna find some truly broken places to put them. just seems like good idea but just not gonna work for what the game is and how i as a solo play. guess its fuck hunt for a year or two again like last time.
I think the answer is its still there on console? But I think they toned it down recently? Sorry I don't play on console so not really sure. I think there was a massive pushback so they never added it to PC
@Bandanner in some matches other players making noise in buildings could be heard as if you were in the same room as them if you were within audio range. So full volume at the furthest distance. Hunters would sometimes make no noise at all full sprinting at you with melee or shotguns etc. The audio range would be off
@Bandanner inone game we had a team was in the boss layer and we couldn't hear them moving. We went into a shed to beetle them and heard them as I'd we were in the same room. It continued every time we got into a building in that compound

Hmm what in your mind would make it newbie friendly? They did that nice tutorial a while back. I can't imagine them changing the core gameplay it's supposed to be brutal with the dying and have a learning curve with the maps. But if you have other ideas I would be interested to hear them.
They already are for the worst. There will be a centered crosshair/weapon aiming alongside with gunslinger mode but it will just drive away more players. People are already getting frustrated with the steep learning curve and instantly going down and losing everything in which they quit and never come back.

I can see why from a business standpoint you'd want it to be more accessible, and if you find it difficult it makes sense too, but I've seen live service games ruined because they tried to cater to everyone, which you just cannot do
Its not just you, it needs patching. It's having stability issues, I have had odd graphical glitches and the encoder side of the graphics card died three times while I tried to stream, never had issues streaming hunt before. Had a quick look on the official discord, lots of complaints about it.

A lot of "tactical" shooter games have a single shot to the head kills system. I personally certainly would not start adding armour, it would ruin a few key gameplay elements of hunt. One of the wonderful things about Hunt is that even the cheapest weapons in the game are completely viable and you don't need cash to buy fancy armour, so it keeps people who are struggling on an equal footing. If you start adding armour it would likely cripple that side of it. I do however recommend games like Tarkov if you are into armour (which is also a good example of how falling behind in funds/gear can be crippling).
as a solo player who fought many necro solo...this 1 time revive is a good thing really. cuz i dont want to camp and lay traps to see if the one i kill is truly dead....if i run away despite setting the traps, who know if he able to shot behind my back when i thought he was dead. i got other hunters to worry about, i cant just sit in 1 place to see a dead hunter for 5 minutes

Also try looking up your normal KD within 5 Clicks or less.

As a solo player, I am really looking forward to the necro changes. I was never a really big fan of standing up multiple times and I used to play back in the day when you only died once. Now I only have to worry about reviving once and it's the best possible revive you can get.

i love the necro nerf but im sad to see theyre trying to make gun battles shorter. one if my favorite things about the game is that it can be extremely fast paced or slow and tense and “diplomatic”.
Yeah I was commenting the other day how I really enjoy those battles that just go on and on. Both teams rez a few times, do some damage, use all your meds.
Hopefully that won't be gone completely.
They don’t necessarily want to make fights shorter as a whole, just reduce the amount of times where both sides are stalemated and do nothing.

@theforgeryttv6449 you do know that there was a time where burning a dead body was insanely fast and there were no smoke bombs? People didn't all the sudden start taking bad fights because their team mates burned slower.

Not sure about that unlimited Looting of Boxes and Hunters. It was a very nice aspect of the game, that you sometimes come to a resupply wagon and only get one ammo box because someone else looted everything. Made the game a little bit more "hardcore" in a very good way. Ammo Management got way to easy in the last updates and this makes it even easier...
I would like to hear their full reasoning for this one, purely because I don't really understand why they changed it. Other than to make it easier to rearm.
The hunters are fine. People are just going to burn every body now, which is easy with all the burn changes the last few months. Everyone good carries a flare pistol

You might have found out already, but basically you get the entire game included.
What you don't get are many cosmetics without paying extra cash, so skins for weapons, items and hunters. Nothing pay to win.

Its and update of the original game, if you own the original you get a free update on steam. It's just a massive overhaul, rather than a brand new game.
The new UI looks way better, but works a lot worse, it takes a lot more time to fully equip a character.

Some people afraid of the headshot at any range change, but people are forgetting the fact that youll have to aim above your target thats constantly moving.
I think we need to see how it plays out, they will have all the stats and can see if it seems to be getting out of hand I guess.

You mean the trait slots rather than upgrade points? If so you can't that's the maximum.
If you want to change one you can sell one or more of the already taken ones for a small refund of upgrade points.

Not quite, it's a max of 15 traits per hunter. But you can change them out for others if you have the upgrade points (up arrows).

I am afraid I am genuinely not sure about the consoles… but I would have thought if you own Hunt already you would get access to the new version when it launches tomorrow? It would just be a new download.

it is still a shame that with the improved engine they couldn't increase the player limit. I feel Trios could really benefit from a 5th team.

Going to be honest, not looking forward to bullet drop. The guns just aren’t designed for it imo. Same with the ammo box changes. Why unlimited instead of rule of three? Are enemies going to be able to use my ammo crate an unlimited number of times now too? Am I giving my enemy ammo when I place down a tool box or an ammo crate? Because that is… not a good idea. I still want people to be able to use the ammo crates of enemies don’t get me wrong, but if my whole team has resupplied that should be it. It should be empty.

Cheating happens in any MP game like this but I would not say wild at all.
Of the hundreds of hours I have in game, I would say I have only truly seen 2 or 3 people I was certain were cheating.

We just played a game and the head shot at a 191 damage did not kill the dude. And my buddy was using the sparks. Not dimension another game we played I killed 2 people back-to-back and only got registered as one kill. The game is a bit buggy
Are you sure it was a headshot? With the bullet drop it might have hit elsewhere.
Though I guess it showed as a headshot on the score screen then it must have registered as that, in that situation certainly screen shot it and report it to them on the official discord so thee is proof.

If you have never played before it's a great game, it takes some getting into to learn the maps but it's very enjoyable even when you aren't winning all the time.

@@Ordo_Malleus The year is not over yet. So far we have Black Myth Wukong, First Descendant, Delta Force Hawk Ops, Arena Breakout, Stalker 2, Black Ops 6, Once Human, Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 and the Hunt overhaul. Delta and Arena are both in test mode but will fully release sometime this year.

only change i really dont like is the front sight change, really not necessary, got to strip so much of the identity from the weapons.
That's a fair point, I remember when I first started playing my friend went to the effort of explaining the weapons with the best sights etc. I am not too fussy but was surprised to see it pop up in the video.

I honestly think new necro will be a buff to solos since you normally only get one chance to rez anyway and I’d much rather not be one tap to long ammo. (At least n 5-6* lobbies)
I dunno, I have had plenty of times where I have managed to get up more than once. Really depends what else is going on and how persistent the opponent is. However its a reasonable consideration.
But yes I agree being fully healed does certainly have a benefit :)
Well there are times when multiple revives can really save you, but i think that getting only 1 revive is much more common, bc as soon as you revive, your enemies know about your perk and wont let you revive yourself more
yeah the multiple revives only be good when your killers are busy with other team using that situation for you to revive and run away to heal. the 1 time revive is aim to fix that problem. it would be annoying to fight extra enemies who you killed 2 times only for them to return and kill you and your team back.
You know, this game needs a finisher button on it, where if you shoot someone to zero health, they go down and writhe in pain on the ground. The mechanics of the game still consider them dead, so they have to be resurrected. But they writhe in pain on the ground and they grown and moan.
Which will attract zombies and dogs if they are around, and the zombies and dogs can finish them off..
Or a player can walk up and cut scene style melee them for a finisher, or head shot them for a cutscene head shot execution.
Since they are considered dead while they're down, it doesn't change the mechanics of the game. And it adds an extra element of noise to the game that could cause monsters to be more influential in circumstance. Could be a lot of fun.
Seems a bit overly brutal for a shooter 🤔

That is something they are doing, you will only unlock weapon variants with XP. Custom ammo will auto unlock.

Looking from a max rep perspective, maybe it isn't a big deal but not everyone is sitting on 100 rep. This game is slowly getting recognition it deserves and it shows on steamcharts. It encouraged everyone to use more varied and interesting loadouts across the board
But now with everyone grinding the same challenges, everyone's playstyle is going to shift massively. Imagine they introduce a challenge to get 3 kills with traps. How horrible is that week going to be? With the entire lobby playing traps?
Apply that logic to anything and it doesnt sound good to me. It's better when everyone on the map is using something interesting, maybe something they wouldnt normally run, meaning loads of different playstyles at once instead of all the same
I agree with your point though it will be a bit crazy, other games do it like that and you can tell people sre doing such and such a quest.
To be honest I find the way they do challenges in general is not great.
It was never very noob friendly, with some really wild weapon type demands. If someone is learning a couple of weapon types at the start its really difficult to suddenly need to switch to a bow etc. Though I guess that's just a minor complaint.

Yeah now I have had hands on with it I am putting up a little discussion video... there are bits I like from the change.... but there are some REALLY weird choices which just seem bonkers on PC and were clearly made for a controller.
Like lots of open space where buttons could be but there is an awkward scroll instead and the fact your loadout vanishes when you want to add something to it...

Necromancer was definitely an annoying perk,but damn,they just killed him,I as a solo player with no friends only with him had a chance for some advancement on the map,try to survive when you are rushed by 2 people while you are being eaten by zombies or bitten by witches flies.
I would just make the corpse with the necromancer perk emit some kind of schizophrenic whisper or light up so that the enemies know that you can get up...But they decided to kill him completely,I don't understand why + they sped up the corpse burn speed, that's a direct x2 hit on solo players, not sure they know what they're doing.
Well you can still get up once, so it's not totally useless! See how it plays if everyone ends up disliking it they may change it again... eventually

run it with DLSR 1.78x or higher it will look fine... 4587 x 1920 runs smooth for me and looks way better. Monitor native res is 3440 x 1440
as a solo only player. as someone that LOVES the state of the game this is just stupid. all these changes seem useless and quite honestly just fucking me as a solo. the updates out too so i can firmly say the game runs MUCH WORSE. i have a modern system and i can barely run the game now. (modern as in rtx 3060 standards) anyone can be downed from a headshot at any distance is again breaking the game by allowing people with compact bullets to snipe while also being more viable in close quarters... i personally just hate UI chnages no matter what after i get used to them so that part is bias. the chnages on the mines is nice but i feel people are gonna find some truly broken places to put them. just seems like good idea but just not gonna work for what the game is and how i as a solo play. guess its fuck hunt for a year or two again like last time.

@Bandanner in some matches other players making noise in buildings could be heard as if you were in the same room as them if you were within audio range. So full volume at the furthest distance. Hunters would sometimes make no noise at all full sprinting at you with melee or shotguns etc. The audio range would be off

@Bandanner inone game we had a team was in the boss layer and we couldn't hear them moving. We went into a shed to beetle them and heard them as I'd we were in the same room. It continued every time we got into a building in that compound

I can't imagine them changing the core gameplay it's supposed to be brutal with the dying and have a learning curve with the maps. But if you have other ideas I would be interested to hear them.
They already are for the worst. There will be a centered crosshair/weapon aiming alongside with gunslinger mode but it will just drive away more players. People are already getting frustrated with the steep learning curve and instantly going down and losing everything in which they quit and never come back.

I can see why from a business standpoint you'd want it to be more accessible, and if you find it difficult it makes sense too, but I've seen live service games ruined because they tried to cater to everyone, which you just cannot do
I hate this update passionately, It killed hunt for me. Just destroyed my frames.
Its not just you, it needs patching. It's having stability issues, I have had odd graphical glitches and the encoder side of the graphics card died three times while I tried to stream, never had issues streaming hunt before.
Had a quick look on the official discord, lots of complaints about it.
Ngl, beeing stomped on even by same ranked players isnt fun, 20 matches no kills no nothing, even the noobs have laser aim.
It can be rough. Especially right now as there are lots of good FPS players trying it from other games.

Bullet drop is going to kill pistol gameplay, enjoy the new 15m effective range of pistols were you have to aim into orbit to hit further than 15m

You think? I dont think it looks too bad, need to actually use it to see how it functions though. Hard to make a true judgement from a few screens and little clips.

I had hoped it would be better, in terms of "looks" it is but functionality is poor. But equally they are already fixing it from the video they put out last night.
They need armor system. Killing head shot in any range wtf. i might skip
A lot of "tactical" shooter games have a single shot to the head kills system.
I personally certainly would not start adding armour, it would ruin a few key gameplay elements of hunt. One of the wonderful things about Hunt is that even the cheapest weapons in the game are completely viable and you don't need cash to buy fancy armour, so it keeps people who are struggling on an equal footing. If you start adding armour it would likely cripple that side of it.
I do however recommend games like Tarkov if you are into armour (which is also a good example of how falling behind in funds/gear can be crippling).
Necro changes ruining solo play? LMAOOO i got about 1500 hrs of solo gameplay and all those hours were BEFORE solo necro was even a thing. git gud.
as a solo player who fought many necro solo...this 1 time revive is a good thing really. cuz i dont want to camp and lay traps to see if the one i kill is truly dead....if i run away despite setting the traps, who know if he able to shot behind my back when i thought he was dead. i got other hunters to worry about, i cant just sit in 1 place to see a dead hunter for 5 minutes
