Its been a few years since ive done this job. Very good job..just as i remembered. Everything you need to know nothing you dont. Torque numbers are a very nice addition. Thanks.
Huge thanks for posting this video, I'm pretty sure my driver's side axle shaft u-joint is toast and I was dreading replacing it because of having to remove the hub. What you showed looks like this job will be a breeze now and I won't have to take it in to a shop. Thanks!
Worth replacing just the joint over the whole axle? Got an ‘03 2500 which started lurching on turns and squealing in 4wd, seeing how little damage I can do to my wallet 😅
If the u joint has play then I would replace that. Lurching on turns might be your brakes or alignment. Might be worth checking out your front driveshaft u joints as well.
My left front acle shadt keeps rubbing up against something like clicking when i reinstall it everytime. Do i need to just remove the diff cover to see if something moved or keep trying to fine the right spline since it was not marked when removed. Idk looking for advice on this dana 60 2nd gen dodge 2500 12v cummins 4wd
I had something similar happen to me. Check that your 4wd shifter isn’t slighting engaging when u reinstall the axle. Teeth may not be lined up correctly or it’s the shifter being engaged. Let me know if that helps.
@@MillerWorkzLTD i will check that as soon as i get home today. I was curious about that but i was so irritated i was not thinking like my regular self would. Thank you for the super quick response. Will let you know what i find

Does the rotor have to come off or can everything come out together??
Rotor has to come off.
@@MillerWorkzLTD Thanks!
@@Hellbentbiker No problem! Hopefully the repair goes smoothly for you.
What u joint press did you use?
Astro Pneumatic Press
I didn't know I had to mark the axle.
You don’t have to but it helps with reassembly and lining up the axle.
Do you have the part number for the ujoints that you used?
I have a Napa part number if that would help
@@jacksonwhite442 NPJP374 is the one I used. There are two different styles depending on your axle.
What does did it make
Pardon?

I'm sorry but the entire title of the video is U joint replacement, and you did not show any of that??
lol did you watch the video? It’s the front axle u joint. It clearly goes over how to remove and replace
How did you press the caps back together once ujoint in place @@MillerWorkzLTD
@@montanabarrettshow Hammer will work. Be careful though.
Poor video hub assembly does not just come off need a puller
I showed how to remove the hub by leaving some of the bolt in back and utilizing the power steering to pop it out.
