Great video, i bought this watch back in 2018 and i must say the luminous hands & markers are far brighter also the second hand hits all the seconds but it could just be the camera image 😊
I bought this watch 11 years ago and it appears that it has better build quality than current production. The lume on mine is excellent BG blue that lasts until morning and is equal brightness on both hands and dial. The accuracy is excellent and the 60 click bezel is great with everything lining up well and rotating nicely even after 11 years of use. The coin edge bezel look s good and has excellent grip. I’m surprised the seconds hand on yours doesn’t hit the markers because all of my Eco drive divers hit the markers very well. The finishing is noticeably better than my Seiko divers. The 23mm lug space is an odd size but some of my 22mm nato straps are a bit on the wider side and they work out ok. The date window is tiny like on many of Citizen’s Eco drive watches and is all but useless to me. The crown has an aggressive outer edge that can dig into the skin. I had a jeweler smooth that out to eliminate that problem. The capacitor on this Citizen E168 movement is rated to be 80% effective after 20 years of use. This is an ISO rated diver for not much money(I paid $150 USD) that will provide many years of trouble free service.
Citizen seem to be ramping up their model range recently. Some nice reissues have come out as well. I did a rebuy on the full lume ny0040 and just bought the bracelet version of the Orca on Amazon EU for a great price.
Nice little watch I'm surprised you haven't checked out more citizens. All my citizens and I have about 10 that are Eco-Drives all hit the marks and some are cheaper then the one you have and all have great lume. So I'm kind of surprised that one doesn't.
great review, many thanks. I bought this watch 11 years ago and it is still performing flawlessly. Bracelet is indeed awesome, but for me the dial, numerals and hands might be even more impressive at this pricepoint. What could have been better, is the bezel... Pretty crappy and def not up to par with the rest of the watch
Hi Zee,I think Granddad is going to be chuffed to bits. But I bet you are just as pleased to give him a decent watch. Don’t think he’s going to be to upset about the lume .
I wish I was the sort of person to buy an excellent and no fuss watch like this and then not look at watches until it breaks. Meanwhile I have a watch box with 20 watches and wear them only a few times a month each. 🤒
I hope your Granddad wears it in good health my friend! I'm sure he's going to love it!
Thanks for the review. Had this watch for over 12 yrs now, put it though its paces, never missed a beat.
My wrist 6.5 inch .. the lug to lug about 47mm is just perfect for my wrist !!! Im wearing it watching this rv !! The microadjustment is superb !!!!
Lug width 23mm?
Good to know. My wrist is 6 ⅜" and was wondering if it would fit.

Great feedback 👍
Good looking watch. I'm sure your grandfather will love it.
That’s a great watch and even a better grandson!
😂😂
Its a great watch .Own it myself . There is also AR coating on glass .I bought it in Argos for 149 gbp so there is a lot specs for that price .

Hell yeah .... Excalibur!! I own this good watch
Citizen, Seiko of our times....
Looks like a great deal for a grab and go tough watch. Cheers!!!

Thanks for the review. Seems to be a great watch for the price.

Got to admit that clasp had me drooling. How is it that $1,000 dive watch from Tissot doesn't even have that nice of micro adjustments?
I honestly don't get this stuff too

Yeh he wont be upset at the lume 😂
Had this one for a while, great watch, very well built and accurate. The only thing for me was that it didn't have a sapphire crystal.
Looks nice. I really like the way that micro-adjustment works.
Me too!

not too w/ the divers of citizen them being big and bulky. but i do have a tsuyosa and it is banging.
Cracker at the price, especially compared to a similar seiko, like u said lol👍👍
Yeah very advanced for its age man!
Wow that seems great value, shame about the lume though.
the excalibur is a realy cool watch and less toolish than the bn0150
I cannot tell whether the seconds hand hit their markers ?
It doesn't hit them
For a moment I thought Citizen made a great affordable diver. Then I saw the 23mm lug width 🙃 I like to strap swap, so pass
Quite a nice watch if only lume was better. Hopefully grandad is happy with it.
Yeah he was loving it
One thing i know about fathers and grandfather's is they would have no idea what you mean if told the seconds hand doesn't hit the marker lol
Yeah they wouldn't give a shit. My Gpops just wants it to work and for him not to set the time 😁
