As a non American, its crazy to me, how many different fastfood stops there are.
Considering how massive America is
I wish he did culvers! That is the best fast-food burger in the Midwest Edit: I see he did culvers and had a bad experience, it is usually better then that
Right?
We work A LOT and we never have time to cook.
@@sogregariousarea wise yeah
The sad thing about these places is the consistency. I bet you could do this challenge a few more times and have significantly different results. Thank you both for braving it.
exactly. like the Jack in the box near me is so bad I'd easily rank it below McDonalds.
@@FatherAxeKeeper you're right. And that's what I meant by my comment. I agree with the ranking but at the same time...I don't. I've had burgers made horribly from almost all of those places but had some good burgers from almost all of those places. Overall, they did good and seemed fair for what they were served.
People keep dissing on McDonalds, but at least they're consistent. If you're not a fan of Big Mac, at least the experience is the same everywhere else, and no other location's gonna make it taste better.
Exactly….the Steak ‘n Shake near me is not good…
@@BrentsBricks the Steak n Shake near me went out of business a year or so ago and was replaced with a Chipotle.
The Culver’s burger hurts my soul.
I used to work at Culver’s on grill for about 5 years during the end of my high school and college years. But I took some serious pride in what I cooked and I honestly miss that job sometimes. But seeing the burger hurts me, I wish I could’ve made them myself for you 😂
I agree, culver is one of the best burgers...josh just got a bad one.
Culver's is my favorite burger across any fast food joint or restaurant. He definitely got a bad version of it.
I was so happy to see Steak N Shake snatch the no. 1 spot at the eleventh hour like that. I have loved Steak N Shake for a long time and what's more, they're actually not doing very well these days, so I hope this video helps spread the word that Steak N Shake is worth going back to.
Facts
definitely never had a burger from Wendy's or burger King that was better then a five guys burger
Steak n shake is my fav too. We don’t have them where I live but every time I’m in an airport I look for one. 😂
@@TimeBomb008Nah Wendy’s makes sense, but Burger King at 5th place is unforgivable.
For arbys its incredibly juicy but no seasoning? Im going to arbys and just ask for a packet of salt and peppwr😂
That Five Guy’s take of, “…the mushrooms bring this down,” is wild considering that you choose your own toppings.
Yeah, I can't believe they expect us to take this seriously when the toppings aren't consistent between chains. If you're getting bacon on the burger at one place, you should get it at every place, or don't get it at all.
@@LukeMcGuireoides That’s exactly why Dave Portnoy eating a slice of plain cheese pizza everywhere he goes, actually matters.
If you had paid attention you would of noticed that at each restaurant they choose the whatever "standard" , "classic", or otherwise ubiquitous burger at that restaurant. Whataburger they got the whataburger, in n out they got double double animal style, mcdonalds they got big mac, etc. The equivalent at five guys is getting it all the way, which has mushrooms.
@@Boog1137 Sometimes when I fart, I poop a little.
@Bittler87 they might be able to add that as a topping if you ask nicely
Anyone who’s secretly a furry and doesn’t want anybody but the internet to know, comment under me and pretend like you’re talking about the Wendy’s baconator.
Edit:spelling
Out of all the quick and dirty fast food places that you can find across the nation, the wendy's JBC biggie bag is pretty much my go to when traveling
The Baconator isn't even top 3 burgers at Wendys. Should have just gone with a Dave's Double.
@@ph1shstyx agree. You seriously cannot beat how much you get for that combo. You can even hack it to get large-size fries and bev through the food delivery app to save a good $4-6 depending on the location. I put this up there as my go to saving meal next to eating mom and pop mexican tacos which are still under a dollar or around a dollar for 3-4 of them in most places.
Ol’ reliable 🥰 the baconator is def in my top 5 fast food sandwiches of all time
My problem with Wendy's today is that back when they first came out, they could make your meal-to-order as fast as you could pay for it. Today . . . not so much. I wish I could convince the executives at Wendy's to return to 1976. It just might put them at number 1! All of these outlets/brands today seem to have forsaken the "FAST" in fast food.
Five guys under Wendy’s and Burger king is a Criminal Offense.
Well idk if putting Wendy's above Five Guys is that controversial. Wendy's is pretty good imo.
You guys should try Cook Out. Granted it's a Southern chain, but their burgers are genuinely good. Long as you go there around opening hours to 3pm, cause even I'll admit their service at some of their locations tends to take a dive around 4pm to 5pm. And getting them at late night can be nightmare given how long the lines will inevitably be.
Cookout is pretty good.
Easily the best fast food burger chain in America. The lines are long for a reason.
That's a lie, cookout is bad drunk food
Cookouts burgers are solid, but as a fast food chain overall I think cookout is the best in the country. The affordability and options are unbeatable, granted I am a North Carolinian so I am a little biased.
Cook-Out is the fucking best!!!!!!
I'm surprised by how Culver's went
Nice
The burgers are definitely decent I think at that location they just didn't give a fuck. I mean one 1/8 inch patty in a double deluxe? Somebody toking in the back for sure
I think the problem is they went to a Culver's in Texas. A Wisconsin Culver's comes in the top 3. I'm sure.
I live in Northern Illinois and the Culvers locations over here are all amazing!
Yea go to the one in Janesville right by the river. It's the best one I've been too as a Midwesterner.
Josh says he doesn’t remember the baconator tasting that good but it’s also the first time he ate a fast food burger that wasn’t 3 hours old and at room temperature 😂😂😂
Fr. He talks so much shit about fast food, but waits till it gets room temp to even try it. Fucking crazy how happy he gets when he makes his own version and it's "better" but also 20x the price lol
Bro💀💀😂 that’s funny as hell
@@sactownmobbinhe literally shows you how to do foods but cheaper as well. You can cook at home for cheap y’all are just lazy
what are you on about?@@KRACKER300
He'll show you, how, with just $300 in ingredients and $2000 worth of equipment and 12 hours, you can make a better one at home.
I agree..loved SteakNShake when I lived in Indy, was so stocked when they opened in the Houston area but none of them lasted. The one near me I ate at often but it was slow and poorly ran. Knew it wasn't going to last.
Putting Burger King above Five Guys is absolute treason.
I ended the video immediately when I saw
I love Burger King but Five Guys is miles ahead of BK.
Bk is fucking atrocious.
five guys is an absolute scam
@@surinder4430agreed but the food is better then bk just much more expensive
To be fair for McDonald’s, everyone tries the Big Mac because it’s the most popular, but the quarter pounder is a better burger to put against the rest of these places… Wendy’s is my favorite and I don’t have the top 3 in my state, so I’m happy with where it landed in the rankings.
Exactly this.
The quarter pounder is the freshest meat mcdonald's has. It's not frozen like the big Mac pattie.
I like the Daily Double burger at McDs - lettuce, tomato, sharp onions, pickle, mayo
Yup, the QP slaps. Great maillard. Add lettuce tomato and its easily ahead of the whopper and daves double
This, solid 7/10.
you should 100% do this with chicken sandwiches next
Yesssss
or fries
Why he is biased af and just complains about there being no salt when there is like 1000mg of sodium in all of these burgers they are just overweight and consume too much of it.
@@pcmasterracetechgod5660 The reason salt is so popular is that it bring out the flavor of food. As far as people who eat to much salt, blame the people, that super-sized everything. Moderation is the key, same goes for sugar.
@@stevenwoodward5923 I know it brings out flavor, and these burgers are loaded with salt yet they are complaining there is no salt... They are just morons
One of the best burgers I've ever had was the A-Wonderful from Mooyah Burgers. Perfectly seasoned, the buns was soft, the patties were tender, just a great experience.
Love you guys together, working off of each other and communicating!
'Waterburger' such retardation
I’m surprised A&W wasn’t on this list. They have like 600 locations across the US, and is the oldest restaurant chain. Would have been interested to hear your opinion compared to some of the others.
god that in-house made root beer is worth it alone
They pretty much removed all the ones from California :( I make it a special point to stop if I see one to pick up their rootbeer floats or cheese curds. I believe there's one on the way from LA to Vegas and one from LA to Grand Canyon.
I've tried it in Canada, we don't have A&W in the Netherlands and i was keen to try. Didn't disappoint.
I eat a&w pretty often because they're everywhere here, but honestly their burgers disappoint me every time, and I feel like they're always more expensive than everywhere else
Came here to say that. If someone from outside America asked me to show them a burger spot, A&W would be my pick. They have one of the most classic tasting burgers around. Also these guys should have ordered the same toppings or similar burgers from each place.
As someone who flipped burgers at Steak n’ Shake for a good 6 months, I have this weird feeling of pride that it was the best. It certainly is to me. We take refrigerated meat pucks and slam it on to the griddle with the spatula, give it a special seasoning, cheese it, and slide it on a toasted bun. So good.
Every time I have been to a Steak n Shake I have had awful food. The shakes are good though
Steak n' Shake is a core memory of Ohio for me. So. Damn. Good.
So, an MSG?
@@SharpBalisong lol same, i was so hyped when the one by where I lived reopened
I know exactly what you mean, I was a server before they replaced us with robots and had my fair share of time on the grill, sometimes I enjoyed the kitchen more than the dining room.
As a Steak n Shake lover, Yes 🙌 This is the only accurate leaderboard 😂
As a Nebraskan, you need to hit up a Runza burger! They are absolutely phenomenal
Runza is so good! That’s the one thing I miss the most about home
Feels like there wasn't a strict guideline for picking the burgers from each place. Some ordered single patty, some ordered double, never been to white castle but ordered the most basic slider instead of other options, etc. It was interesting to see so many places in one video though!
I believe the guideline was to order the #1 if they had a #1 on the menu
Basically ordered what they're known for(burger wise). White castle only has sliders.
The Whataburger in Arizona is really good. Also we have a place called Pete's Fish & Chips. Their burgers taste slightly different then anywhere else, maybe because they share the grill with Fish.
That’s not even half of them
Agreed, like imo McDonald's the quarter pounders are honestly pretty good and compared to the patties used on the big macs the quality is vastly superior

@itwasthebutler Clearly you are a troll and have absolutely no life and no friends! I don’t feel sorry for you goof.
I have had great Steak and Shake experiences and I have had horrible ones. I like the consistency of In-N-Out more.
Also, give Braum's a try if you are ever in Oklahoma/Texas/Arkansas.
They should have done a Quarter Pounder from McD's. Since they changed it from frozen to fresh meat it's WAY better than a Big Mac!!
Christian is the perfect balance for you, naturally funny and serious about the food stuffs - - - do more content with him.
every Christian episode is a good one
Agreed! Just cool it with the fake gay shit, it's juvenile and demeaning.
I love how they made rules and after that were like 'it is too culturally significant, so what if it isn't following rules?"
Not to mention they included a couple that aren't culturally significant at all, lol.
Yas Steak n Shake! As a Canadian I'm always bummed by how hard they are to find in the US when I'm on vacation!
As someone who watches cooking videos and works at burger king, I see this as an absolute win
I can totally see a few followup videos in this series, e.g. tacos, pizzas, fishburgers, chicken sandies, waffles...
That’s a good idea about the chicken sandwiches. I personally like one place, but might try some others if close by, and look good
Yes, this needs to happen! Especially with pizza and chicken sandies
Pizza would be insane. How do you quantify that? What are the rules? Chicken sandwiches can be the same rules as burgers.
Total disqualification for using the term "sandies"...
I stopped at a random Dairy Queen in north central Massachusetts. I was blown away how good the cheeseburger was. I raved about it to my family. I took them to a Dairy Queen closer to where I live. That one was the worst Burger I had ever had. I couldn't believe it was from the same chain
Same thing happened to me, also in Mass LOL!
I hate it when that happens.
I was gonna say this exact thing man, if done right DQ is one of the best fast food burgers you can get. If not, it’s one of the worst.
You’d think there would be more similarity between the fast food restaurants, but it’s true, each one is different. Even with other restaurant chains. I’ve been to Red Lobsters that were really great. And also ones that were really bad. Just depends on who is working there, I guess.
The absolute worst burger ive ever had was at dairy queen at a stop somewhere between barstow and vegas headed towards vegas. It was absolutely microwaved, held at temp against its will, and served to me sadly because i was so hungry. It was so unsatisfying it made me slightly angry that i caved for it
Yes!!! I live in south east va and there’s a Steak ‘n Shake off the highway heading north towards the dc / Winchester area and I was always pretty blown away by how much better they make burgers. The long slivers of pickle rocked my world
Here in the UK, mcdonalds had a limited run of a 'Philly Cheese Stack' burger, it was best I have ever had from them. Was gone from the menu a month later... madness
I used to go to BFC and get a fresh chicken fillet burger with fries and a drink for £2.50 altogether. Best burger and best fries I have ever tasted in my life. £2.50
I had that too! It was SO good(for McDonald's at least), maybe it'll become the new McRib and randomly come back every now and again to sell out instantly.
Probably my favourite fast food burger after Five Guys
I'd like I say, Culver's does take awhile, but I've NEVER seen one of their burgers not have the cheese melted on it. I think you just went to a Culver's where they were way too busy and rushing, or one that just doesn't care. Never seen that happen in my life at any of the Culver's I'd go to in my state (Michigan, Grand Rapids area, but also some in other cities as well). I'd blame the workers for that one.
Culver's does cook everything to order
Culver's is my 2nd fav burger place only beaten by steak n shake
I'm in Wisconsin, and I've never seen a Culver's burger this bad before either. That said, we will go to a further away Culver's over the one near our house if we can since the quality there is so much better. So, because Culver's is made to order, there is probably a lot more variance on quality from location to location compared to some of these other food chains.
Lack of seasoning is surprising, too. They have a spice shaker right there on the grill to season every patty. Honestly, it’s such a Midwest chain I was sort of wondering if a Texas location would be legit or not.
Texas did Culver's dirty. It's easily my favorite burger. Wisconsin's gift to mankind, except if you're not in the Midwest, I guess...
Surprised you didn’t do Cook Out. It has 319 stores (similar in size to Habit Burger) and has a decent bit of cultural significance, especially in the Southeast where a majority of the restaurants are. Overall a nice video to watch, keep up the good work.
I'm from Minnesota and I've heard of it, so I'd agree with the cultural significance.
I'm also surprised he didn't do Fatburger. We got two here in Arkansas and to me they blow all others out the water.
I've live in the SE all my life and never heard of if
Cook out is the best.
@LukeMcGuireoides where in the se? There are at least 6 within a 45-mile radius of me, and I pass more than a handful when I travel to FL.
The fact that Wendys made it to 4th shows how good a real fast food burger is.
1st three are good, but they aren’t accessible to everyone. Wendys however is all over the US.
Also, where the hell is BurgerFi?
wow, watching this really changed my view on how america cooks their fast food. knowing what i do now, i feel as if i can do anything in terms of fast food mayhem. without the knowleedge that you have bestowed upon me, i would never even THINK trhat my fast food looks like a robot. AMAZING!!!!!! thank you so much Joshua. sincerely, clyde frog.
p.s i really like your goatee.
Working at Steak N Shake was such a bad addiction because I would eat it everyday bc the burger was amazing
Is it your favorite burger place?
Good for you
The frisco Melt (Add bacon) is my Steak n Shake burger of choice🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾
I really hate steak and shake, I don't get it at all
Man I would make myself their garlic burger with some grilled onions, add a little bit of frisco sauce with a tomato slice and some Swiss cheese.
It is good to see Steak N Shake get some love. While not the biggest chain around, they arguably are among the most copied. Culver's and Freddy's both do a version of SnS, while Danny Meyer, the guy who started Shake Shack, openly says he used his memories of going to Steak N Shake as a kid in St. Louis for his inspiration
Haha this is like that episode that Food Theory should've done and we all thought they were going to do! Awesome video!
The consistency of these chains is a huge factor. I've had some of the worst burgers from steak and shake but also pretty good ones. Can't say I've ever had one better than Five Guys though. Five Guys in the Charlotte area is pretty consistent and in-N-out in Colorado was the only place I'd consider a close second as runner-up. Never been to any of the Cali locations however where I've heard its even better.
Five guys isnt fast food
@@carson3838five guys is 100% fast food. I can be in and out (hehe) in 5 minutes or less with a burger and fry
I lived in California for 40 years and then moved to Texas a couple of years ago to a city that does indeed have a few In N Out Burgers. In that experience of eating at two In N Outs here and about 5 million of them in SoCal, they are THE most consistent fast food chain I've experienced. The food always tastes exactly the same no matter where you go and I've never had a single time at ANY of their restaurants where they fucked up my order. Not. Even. Once. Much has been said about their fries being garbage and if you get them plain I can understand feeling that way, but animal style fries are GOOD dammit so just get them that way. They are also one of the best value for your dollar fast food places, my normal order there here in San Antonio comes out to about $14.50 with drink included while if I got Jack In The Box, McDonalds, Arbys, or Wendys, I can expect to spend anywhere from $18 - $20. It's one the cheapest places and somehow they also manage to pay their employees more than any other place (Arby's I went to recently had a sign up that said "now hiring starting at $14 per hour," In N Out has a sign up "now hiring starting at $20 per hour").
Anyway, that's enough sucking In N Out's dick, they aren't paying me to talk them up but I fucking love them.
Yeah five guys is great but it’s ridiculously expensive. I literally cannot afford to eat there and when I can I’d rather spend the money on something more useful or a nicer restaurant 😂😂
@@carson3838it’s definitely a fast food joint. Burgers made in minutes while you stand and wait. That’s fast food.
Y'all are sleeping on Freddy's Steakburgers reaaaaal hard. They've got almost 500 locations in the US and are easily on par with Culvers, Steak & Shake, and Shake Shack. They really deserved an entry in this face-off.
I was waiting for them.
Yup freddys is 🔥
Love Freddy’s. Wish they were in CA
freddy's is kinda over rated. Their burgers are a smash burger but extremely dry.
@@mattybob58 Isn't there a few in SoCal?
Thing is, In-n-out is still better, it's so consistently good, every time, no exceptions.
Steak n Shake is the best fast food spot period. Not even just their burgers, but dipping their fries in their shakes 😍
It's crazy Shake Shack had no seasoning because everyone one I've ever been to is SUPER seasoned almost to the point of too much. And that's why I like it so much.
Honestly, the lack of seasoning on so many burgers was weird. Like, I worked at a Culvers when I was younger. And you know what we used as weight to smash the burger with the spatula? That's right, the truly hefty season shaker.
Many more of these burgers should have tasted more seasoned.
As for Shake Shake, screw that nonsense. The one near me is dirty and disgusting.
I have never had a good experience at steak and shake. That's crazy lol
Because he went to random locations for most of the chains. White Castle and Culvers are both restaurants that NEED to be eaten in their home states.
The Rally's computer order is really not helpful if you want anything custom. Adding something or taking something off doesn't always work. I avoid them now or get out of my car and order in person.
Must've been an off day?
I'm so happy for Steak & Shake. Not too mention how affordable they are compared to the others. They really deserve more love and more customers
In n out is like 3 dollar burger
@@reellifeoutdoors2905 Think they mean stuff like five guys

To.
The frisco melt from steak and shake is so good. Sourdough bread cheese steak patties and frisco sauce
okay this but drunk
The scenes at the end w/ the both of them are hysterical! Christian was the perfect guest for this endeavor! Really enjoyed the video and the burger at the end looked bomb!
They're a smashing couple, showing their love for hot meat
By the way, who was that side-chick in New York?
Josh is stepping out, SMH.
Josh probably just saved steak and shake from bankruptcy 😂
When I lived in Missouri, steak and shake was always pretty busy. Also, it was always bangin
I live in the Midwest, so steak and shake I think is pretty good, but I don’t think I’ve ever had any steak and shake varietal that I thought was better than five guys. Kinda a surprising take for me.
I live in michigan and they have closed every location around me which is about 5 😅
Michigan here too. We have one that’s barely staying open. Just not as popular as it used to be when I was a kid
We moved from Texas to, first, North Carolina and then Michigan and have been away for almost fifteen years now.
I drove back down two weeks ago and decided to hit Whataburger on the drive. Gas station Whataburger on US 59 In Navasota was terrible.
No seasoning and they forgot the cheese.
A week later the hometown Whataburger was exactly as I remembered. Juicy well seasoned and the buns were delicious.
Double meat. Double cheese. Jalepenos.
Wow I haven’t been to Steak n Shake in forever! Going to have to stop by there sometime this week! 🍔
I'm impressed you found a Steak n Shake that was not only still in business but also got you your food in less than 10 minutes.
??? I was under the impression Steak n Shake business was booming these days.
@@Esydiani work at steak n shake and its pretty off and on sometimes i have months where its nonstop work every shift and others i am sitting on my phone for 2 hours straight

One of the best duo, need more Christian collab!
As someone who lives in Wisconsin, Culver's has never messed up an order for me
They made the mistake of getting Culver's in Texas. He should have flown to MSP or Milwaukee and gotten Culver's there!
I can say the same thing in Michigan. I love Culver’s.
Yeah Culvers is def better than steak and shake 99% of the time anywhere in the midwest
@@JG-yk6nyyou know that liking food is subjective. Meaning and here it goes… DIFFERENT PEOPLE like DIFFERENT FOODS. Wow 😮. You learned something new today. Don’t be butt hurt that somebody thinks a burger form a diff place is better than your fav place and go outside and touch some grass.

What about Smashburger? My fave: juicy burger, lots of toppings of your choice, squishy bun, catsup and all dripping down onto your hands and plate. So satisfying.
I agree about the toppings. I love cheese, but I don’t need it on every burger. At home, my favorite is a juicy burger, thin slice of raw onion, on a buttered, toasted or grilled English muffin! ❤
It feels like it’s been forever since Weissman just made a cooking video for something I wanna try to cook.
I mean he made a pizza video like a week ago
I think it had to do with how long it took to get the new kitchen up and running. Plus he apparently had to move too.
He's not a channel for home chefs, he's food entertainment. He's always been a food show. He's completely disconnected from the average home cook and 99% of his viewers will never attempt a recipe.

@@halo2glitcherzhasnt always been that way. Now, every recipe features copious amounts of sugar and msg.
Always been a HUGE fan of Steak and Shake, they used to have an amazing deal where for $4 you'd get a burger, fries, AND a pop. I'd get two of those before working for 12 hours and it would fill me up for most of it. Honestly saved my broke ass as a young adult. Or they also had $4 for 4 chicken tenders and fries, which are also FIREEEEE
I get their triple patty burger with lettuce and onions. Add Frisco sauce.
It’s not 4$ anymore. 😢
Steak & shake is slow, expensive, and lazy. And their burgers are overcooked and under-seasoned. Freddy's has them absolutely SPANKED in quality.
they closed all of the Steak and Shakes here in Pittsburgh area, and it sucks!!
@@butundo444they closed all the ones in Memphis too
I don't know how In n' Out can deliver that much of a display and quality in a drive thru. Serious gg wow
Habit has started opening in the east coast recently. Over the last few years a multitude have sprung up across my south Florida county I live in
When I visited my fiancé’s hometown in Texas, the best burger I’ve tried was from this chain called Freddy’s. I think it’s a bit smaller and that’s why it wasn’t featured, but any of you reading this, I think it’s such a great chain. I still think about their burgers and their frozen custard (especially the Turtle flavour). Totally give it a try for me if you find one, because I really miss it!
Freddy’s is a great chain for sure
Freddy's love 💕💕💕
Freddy's is great
Have to leave a reply to boost it up
Freddys is great
Oh my gosh the garlic burgers from Steak and Shake are to die for. It’s like eating a burger with garlic bread for buns. Incredible stuff.
What I came down here to say 🫡
Yes dude!
Naw the Cajun burgers they use to sell destroys all competetion
Steak and shake has been added to the list when I eventually get to Texas. That sounds incredible!
All of our local Steak n Shakes closed here...I miss those garlic bun burger...they were 🔥
Wendy’s burgers are so good to me. It helps I used to work at one and got to make my own patties fresh every time. Delicious
By the time we got to Arby's, I feel like you could have split the burgers? The despair at DQ definitely had me laughing! You should have shared the garbage options and gone thru again for a second round if it was bomb 😂 tested the timing again 😂
I have been eating steak and shake's burgers for years and I am not surprised that they are rated so highly. I've waited like half an hour in the drive through after a late shift because they have like one cook at 10pm for their garlic lover's burger and it always hits my exhausted heart like no other options I have does.
I've never had a meal at steak and shake take fewer than an hour to get through. I guess they must prioritize the drive-thru because the sit down part is slow as shit. Worth it though for what you get!
@@PatrickDaviswimiwamwamwazzlenever had that experience. Steak ‘n Shake in swfl is always consistent from my experience. I’ve only ever had one bad experience. That is their biggest issue other than those thin snack fries, they need to get more consistent.
Freddys Custard and Steakburger is basically a more consistent and improved version of Steak and Shake. I highly recommend based on my experiences. Custard is banging too.
As someone who worked at Freddys Steakburger for over 2 years I was surprised they didn't try it. I might be prejudice but where I live we have both and I like Freddys better.
Freddy's original double is basically a smashburger version of the baseline menu item at Dyer's Burgers on Beale Street in Memphis, and that's pretty iconic.
I'm very surprised they didn't try Freddy's also. They have them in Texas now
I ate 26 dollars of custard once and a double. We just kept hanging out and I just kept ordering cups of custard.
@@stevenwoodward5923 The Freddy's by me in Chicago is terrible. Patty's are too thin and lacking salt. They have really good fries when seasoned properly and vanilla custard. Their chocolate custard sucks. But it's way overpriced for what you get.
They only have 31 locations but Pal's burgers in Tennessee / Virginia area are absolutely amazing if you ever revisit this concept
Josh! I have a challenge for you.
Come to Jasper Alabama and try the burgers at Alabama Stackers. They're really really good.
I hate that at mcdonalds everyone always uses the big mac to compare burgers with other places... u gotta do the double quarter pounder with cheese instead.
Definitely their regular burgers are lame the qp is the best
for real, big macs are disgusting
Agree with this 100%. Big Mac is barely even a real burger. I actually really like the Homestyle burger too, even though it doesn't have cheese, which makes me sad.
I could not agree more. The Quarter Pounder (and all its derivatives) should be the reference McDonald's hamburger.
The Big Mac is the only burger you should be getting lmao
I’m glad Wendy’s is getting the recognition it deserves
Wendy's is hilarious on Twitter! 😅 I just know that I have ever seen one here in Northern Europe, but I have to test it out when I can
It was unfair though. They ordered the baconator.
Why compare that to a regular whopper or Big mac?
@@joeblow2069Because it's their signature burger.
@@khalyleedwards7735 Disagree. It is unlike all their other burgers.
The baconator is not the signature burger at Wendy's either the Dave's single is.
Wendy's is 5 guys taste at fast food price.
Some Whataburger locations have the Green Chile Double, and its really hard to beat imo
If you're gonna include steak and shake/ in and out, it's criminal to not try portillos. They'd win by a landslide 🤤🤤
I took a drink every time Josh said “mallard”. I blacked out and finally woke up 5 hours later
thanks for saying it cuz I had no idea what he was saying 😂
It's Maillard.
Mallard is a duck you idiot 😂 Maillard. It’s the browning process that occurs during cooking.
Its maillard, from the maillard reaction, which is basically just the taste you get from a good crust
😂😂😂
I’ve never had a Culver’s experience as bad as that, they’re usually very consistent and top notch
Ditto, How the fuck did their Culvers burger not slap. I've never had one that was cold or bland.
It’s that non Midwest experience. Gotta have Culver’s in or near Wisconsin
I have tried culvers 2 times and they have both been terrible and cold.
For real I'm from Michigan and they have way better quality here I was surprised that stake and shake was at number 1 the one by where I live are terrible I think it's honestly the location and the cooks the hire that dictate how good the burger in food is
Wisconsin or Michigan, Culvers is the best fast food burger without a doubt. Yall have shitty workers or something.
I wish you guys could try the Colorado classic. Goodtimes. I think that would be an easy 8.0 with In N Out!
You were spot on for Carls Jr. They cook frozen patties that end up being boiled or steamed. I ask for mine well done which greatly improves the taste if they actually do it
Interesting how the burgers were ordered so differently
I think they went for the chains' most popular burgers.
@@Joenzinatorwhile i somewhat understand the reasoning, i would’ve preferred consistency, cheeseburgers with no lettuce or tomato across the board.
I mean no one goes to Mc'ds and says cheeseburger, tbh
@@Final_StateI do
Totally non scietific and lame.
Christian is so witty and charismatic, he definitely gave me a couple of laughs
Fun video! 3 of those places I've never heard of, and 2 others aren't near any place I've ever lived. I didnt even know Arby's had burgers. I gave up McD's years ago due to their tiny meats; so Wendy & the King are my usual stops (and some BK locations still have Surge soda). I hope you dropped W. Castle onions all over that Porsche interior! Ha!
Alright! Fine! I agree that Steak N'Shake is one of the best out there and that's why it makes me sad that they are closing a bunch of locations! We had a few here in Austin, but they closed and I now have to drive to San Antonio to get Steak N' Shake. The best approximation we have to that is Freddie's Frozen Custard, which deserves to be on this list, if IKR!
Christian needs screen time on The Burger Show. Dude is hilarious.
Lol the way you said it’s pronounced gyro with so much confidence and the fact that that’s not how you pronounce it was the best part of the video
Who would have thought its pronounced hero
As someone who grew up in Oklahoma but lives in California, In n Out is top-tier, but there's NOTHING like Braum's. Can't beat every ingredient being farm fresh~
Braums is fire 🔥
At the end of your video you made my fav burger...They only have one location for over 60 years. they just call it a toasted cheese burger id get a double but it's called the Lemon Drop cause you get one when you leave. anderson IN by the train tracks... homemade ranch as well... to this day same guy on the grill since i was a kid and I'm 44
I feel as if Wendys has put millions of dollars of R&D into reworking their recipes and ingredients sometime over the past 6-7 years. Every single time I go there. EVERY SINGLE TIME. The lettuce is super fresh, never soggy, the bacon is super crispy. Nothing ever tastes old. I mean im always going to the same location (that was just remodeled) so results probably very by location. But I feel wendys has gotten way better and tons of people sleep on it. That being said Im glad we dont have a Culvers here in Los Angeles because I would eat there literally every day.
Dudeee I live in an apartment with a Culver’s in the parking lot I’m there waaaay too much 😅 so damn good though!
I have a serious problem with Culver's. I'm eventually going to have to seek some help. First step is admitting....
now if they only fix their awful old school nuggets it would be great
Idc about the food, I just wanted to mention the incredible editing skills by your team, the infography in F1 style is top notch. 10/10.
5 second Penalty for Ocon: Ordering the Big Mac Combo meal
The shroom burger with cheese fries and shake from shake shack ( after a lactaid tablet) is the best meal i've ever had at a sandwich chain outside of ikes sandwich
This was a fun...you made this very interesting
Did anyone else catch the F1 style tier-list throughout the video? Nice touch Joshua!
yea
vicram made the graphics, he's a f1 fan, but they're so cool!!
some how Max Verstapped would have topped that list too lol.
I wish you could have added Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, since they have location in most states (including California). Your final result looks a lot like theirs (lacey smash burger with onion, long cut pickles, etc), plus they might make the best fries in the business (extra thin shoestring cut). If Freddy's cooked them in beef tallow, then they would be the best fries. Of course, some prefer different potato cuts, but differentiating the flavor with beef tallow (or some other cooking oil) really amps up the experience.
The disrespect for skipping freddys is unbelievable.
Well I guess because it’s not too far off from Culver’s steakburgers.
Culver's tries too hard to be fancy. Freddy's is just a good burger with no frills. Idk why he didn't go. He lives in Houston, and we have one in Austin, so I figure there's probably one in Houston too.
@@TheCeraizationCulvers is good but Freddy's is more like a smashburger. Best crust any fast food Burger imo.
@@farmerjhemp Depends on the location, I suppose. I’ve had some good Freddy’s burgers and other times, I’ve had some really greasy burgers from there.
In alot of these cases it depends on whether or not the location is franchised. different franchises might differ depending on the owner and how it's run.
Steak and shake is bomb, hope you got a butterfinger shake to wash it down. As far as white castle, if you were hammed, that score would've been through the roof 😂
Kuya Chris is so polite, which I find very rare for people who are a master at their craft.
Sonic uses frozen patties which cook faster around the edge than in the center, once the patty is flipped it starts to cup and lose contact with the grill in the center while the edges stay in contact, hence the ring. You didn't show the other side but I'm guessing it was browned more evenly on that side, which is the side it would have been initially placed on while it was still frozen and flat.
thanks im disgusted
sonic has maybe 1 redeeming quality and it's the cranberry limeade and their onion rings are pretty good if I remember right
@@jrockoclock7088They have one bad item; their fries. Everything else is 🔥
If you are going to Sonic for anything other than a drink/dessert, you have immediately made a terrible choice
I was ready for the Cap at Arbys once you dissed them as you pulled in the parking lot.
Try Burgerville if you ever make it up to Oregon. The double cheeseburger, fries and milkshake from there is great.
You ordered two "Culver's Deluxe" (see 14:17) which is two burgers with single patties, so you got what you ordered. If you want double patties, you need to order two "Culver's Double Deluxe".
They just like to hate
Culvers is my second favorite Burger chain in the US after In&Out, they should have gotten a better vote.
14:34 he said the receipt said “Deluxe Doubles” so i’m lost
I'm still mad at the jack in the box one. Dude got pissed because his sourdough jack didn't look like the double stacked sourdough jack
The receipt said two doubles meaning culvers charged them for doubles and gave them singles.
