@@z32luvr not skyrocketing. They are skyrocketing for mint condition examples because they are hard to find. The average model usually doesn’t go for over 30k. It’s a good price for a reliable sports car (if you can deal with rock chips)
You'd be surprised, many Honda OEM parts are cheaper than aftermarket parts. Like the brake master and slave cylinders are dirt cheap OEM from Honda compared to aftermarket ones.
I know the cost is probably really high, but I respect the dedication and attention to detail to this restoration. That car is most likely not going to be driven heavily, but appreciated for its timeless appearance.
@RICARDO i feel this lmfao, but hey man as long as the owner "complies" to the workshop suggestions, big money big opportunity in that. dont see cars restored like this now and then...
s2000's also have a really really high price in Hong Kong. If this was sourced in HK and not imported from Japan or elsewhere, the initial car cost would have been huge.
@@jferrer3898 There's absolutely no way that this thing is worth $60k now just because they replaced all of the interior, half of the stuff they replaced didnt even need replacing lol.
That’s a lot of love and passion shown for this rare JDM type S... as owner of a rare GT Edition 100, I can totally relate to this... 👍👍 Keep It Stock you will get 4 times what you spend in 10 years!
That pile of Honda boxes reminded me of years of accumulating parts to restore my CRX, before I even bought the car. Mine was stripped of everything down to the bare chassis and took me almost 3 years to put back together with all new bits.
Even though it's his money and can do whatever, but seriously spending almost 3x the amount of cash to restore a decent condition s2000k that cost a fait amount of money to begin with? Might as well get a another sports car (C6 Corvette personally) that cost the same amount, arguably better.
@@haaxxx9 3x the amount of an s2000? Yeah, you're stupid lol its not just an s2000 as well its a Type S (CR) ive seen low mileage CRs in my area sell for over $50k with the same amount of miles as this one. These things not only hold their value but they're honestly going up in value as well.
These are my favorite resto videos. I love the way they are paced. I love how the focus is on iconic stock vehicles that are better left untarnished by mods. I wish there were more of these
The owner is a proper enthusiast and I personally think this is a great investment. A dream come true for fans that didn't get a chance to purchase this car brand new.
Holy shoot , that’s one detailed restoration! Kudos to the owner for going ahead and of course hats out to all team for the exceptional result. What a video!
This is by far the cleanest and best looking Honda S2000 I've ever seen, can only imagine the cost to restore and extensive labor required. Although, given how rare these Honda S2000 Type S/ CR models are they could end up being worth $100k or more especially in this mint condition, not that crazy for the owner to have it in pristine collector quality.
Just knowing that the cars that get restored in such a way will live more time than the new cars coming out today like even more than a 100 years just makes me happy
Loved this restoration. A lot of people would've opted to rice it out with aftermarket modifications/parts they consider "upgrades" that in reality are worse than OE parts for 99% of street driving situations.
1st off amazing job!! 2nd $100k S2K?? 🤑 Lastly please tell i didn't see them change every single cosmetic bit and then only vacuum the carpet!!! After 20yrs on MY00 I changed the carpet & mats. Again amazing work. It's brand new again!

This is my dream, beautiful to see someone acually doing it for real. Also love the channel concept, video shooting and all just like the details on the car, love the vision
These guys are passionate about the restoration and almost new parts for all their work. From an environmental perspective, whatever happens to the old parts that are still serviceable? Do they get reconditioned and traded at parts swap or end up in a landfill? Hopefully car restoration can also be a greener endeavor than turfing out old parts for new.
wow, hats off to the crew. They really hit it out the park with the restoration! The s2000 is one of the greatest cars ever made I hope to own one myself one day! Subbed!
I wouldn't really call this a "Restoration" More like a very good detailing. To me, restoration is removing EVERYTHING and getting all new bolts, bushings, everything!
That is one SWEEEEEET ride! I wish I had bought one of those brand new back when they came out. I had the chance to get a brand new one exactly like this one at sticker price and passed on it. OUCH.
Beautiful restoration but I still don't understand why it was needed to replace some of the interior trim as the "old" pieces you removed perfectly new. Am I missing something?
Yes, your missing ridiculous amounts of disposable income. But in all seriousness your not missing anything, just someone with more money then they know what to do with
Just to give you an idea I've been trying to restore my 1994 Toyota Supra and I'm $14k in on just the Toyota parts. It would be more but a lot of things are discontinued so I had to source "like new" parts.
My dream car, still collecting money from shitty jobs to buy one. Saw one in Gran Turismo 2 as a kid and after 20 years I still love this car. One day, one day hope this virus armageddon will clear out soon...
Most likely a future auction block car and not going to be driven like is should. I can’t be mad at trying to bank off of the restored to new for profitability even if I wouldn’t do it. Great video.
Wow what kind of degreaser was used to clean and power clean underneath the chassis ?. Wow it’s ok to not cover certain parts of the motor when pressure washing like the alternator ?.
Nice job - seems a bit extreme to ditch all those perfectly usable parts but each to their own :D I envisage doing this in about 20 years time when my 05 Berlina Black is looking a bit shabby and super unleaded is £200/l :D - maybe I should start stockpiling OEM parts that currently bug me due to scratches and scuffs, which I imagine will start to become as rare as hen's teeth as time goes by...maybe the owner is on to something there ;)
this was satisfying to watch, but damn the owner of this s2000 is a true enthusiast with deep pockets!!
It's Johnny Tran

Just seeing all of those. Honda OEM parts stacked together gave me anxiety. That shit is expensive.
