    Been a big fan of yours man! Was wondering if the 252 rattlesnake cam would be an upgrade in a tilly 212 along with an 8 degree keyway, mv22 ,mikuni, and header pipe over the stock cam while i have it apart to take out the governor??

    Good video, I am working on an ATV that the engine blew up and I want to switch that rusted 150cc engine to a 212 predator/tillotson (or see if I can find a higher output) and I'm looking just to make it work and not burn rubbers on it. You think a 212 tillotson would do?

    • @Black66

      Thanks! A Predator is just fine . They are durable enough and you can do a lot to them . A Tilley is really good to , especially if your gonna do a radical build . The blocks are strong . I would just grab a Predator if I was going to do a basic build or even leave stock .The good thing about a Predator is if it blows up its cheap enough to replace .

    I have two Tillotson 212's in two identical go karts. Both have stage one kits with governor intact but zip tied. Kart #1 will hit 5000+rpm without a governor surge. More so I ran out of pedal. Kart #2 will governor surge at approx 46-4700rpm. Kart#1 has been rolled and at one time I had to put pushrod back under rocker after it rolled. It runs like a scalded dog but for some reason it's identical twin seems to be lacking. Any thoughts or suggestions?

    • @Black66
      @Black66  2 роки тому +1

      That governor is still having some effect on the throttle, obviously . How about totally disconnecting the connection between the governor arm and the throttle linkage. I had governor surge on mine with the zip tie trick, until I totally removed the linkage that connects the throttle to the governor arm. I ran the cable direct to the carb. After I did that the engine ran like kart 1. It would rev with no surge.
