So this is what Rhadan was holding back, I can’t imagine what’s next
Does anyone else just live for these celestial type bosses? They impact my brain in a strange way.
seriously just imagine fighting or seeing something like that in real life jesus. And the manipulation of gravity is just so bad ass
Sigh makes me wanna play bloodborne again, for the 9th time
doing this boss then going to do the rest of the main game made the main bosses disappointing in comparison lol
Don't worry they're meant to haha
Wait till you reach the end of the game
What a cool boss. Alien entity born from somewhere far beyond even the stars. And the sound it makes when it teleports is cool af.
I think it is a star itself
Naturalborn of The Void has to be one of the most badass boss names i have ever seen
@@Prometeu21 Definitely. It certainly looks outlandish as well! It took me a few moments before I noticed that its real eye was inside the cracked skull.
@@orangesoul4289 it is a star
The whole boss is cool af... hes kicking my ass but hes making it look cool so I'm not even mad lol
This boss, seriously. I was semi expecting the Bloodborne “Nightmare Slain” to pop up, bc it was horrifying and gorgeous at the same time.
hey at least we got a “legend felled” rather than just a great foe or whatever it usually is
This boss was horrifying and beautiful at the same time. Glad we got one great one in this game.
One? I can name a few more...
@@Philosopat looks like he found one himself (pfp) lol
(Fuck, he changed it and I dont remember what it was, prolly something from bloodborne)
@@Philosopat I think he meant great one as in Great One, like an Eldritch horror
I'd take her so much more seriously than the big bad final boss of the game being a glowing dolphin or whatever lame ass thing it was
@@GeorgeTropicana id say its more akin to a fat butterfly
I literally bought the game when I seen this boss in the trailer. Getting to and fighting this boss was such a fucking cerebral experience. Literally travel through about 3 levels stacked on top of each other.
I thought the descent would never stop… it was just supposed to be a detour 😅
Lmaoo just did this last night took me 2 tries but holy shit was I fighting for my life. Awesome quest and experience 💯
I wonder how deep his boss room is. Nokstella is already deep underground but we go even deeper to the lake of rot and then another big leap downwards to Astel
I happened upon lake of rot accidentally while following rannis questions, and to be honest I'm so happy I did because I felt the true punishment of this game, it doesn't make it easy whatsoever but when you get to cool stuff like this, completely worth it ❤️
Yeah this really was an incredible and beautiful journey. After taking that lift to Siofra river I was not ready for all the stuff down there.
Actually one of the most beautiful boss designs ever. Its tail is made of fucking planets. Its wings are a nice blue. It can create beautiful rifts in space time with its claws. I'm glad I choose Ranni as my girl.
Not planets ; universes.
@@Emrod82 so technically you killed a being of many universes? Holy shit that’s op
@@Emrod82 Not really, It's tail is said to be made of "Space debris", not *universes*. Where'd you get that
@@HakrTheAnimator Unfortunately not

Loving how Elden Ring is pretty much a culmination of all of Fromsoft's best games:
Medieval aspects from Demon's and Dark Souls
Cosmic horror entities from Bloodborne
Stealth from Sekiro
Elden ring is jack in all trades of fromsoft game for sure
Recent from soft that’s for sure
the stealth here is no where near what it was in sekiro stop
@@florez5871 big similarities with sekiro is the posture
Posture bar and counters from sekiro
Just killed this guy. I hope they add more full moon and gravity spells as those are so cool and have so much potential.
Hope they add hexes dark sorcerer in next dlc
the fallingstar beasts use the same stuff
Have you met radahn
There’s always that one boss that no matter how many times they kill you, you can’t get mad at. This was such a beautiful, horrific, insane battle that it almost felt endgame. Now that I’ve beaten it I wish I could play it again and again.
There's another Astel, in yelough anix tunnel if it helps :d
I beg to differ
I really got mad at him for that bs grab attack
That was ancestral spirit for me (or as I like the call, the "Buff Patronus"). It was so calming and beautyful with the music, I almost felt bad for killing it.
Naw that bs grab attack had me mad af
I love how the landspace makes you both look like massive titans fighting on top of a planet not big enough to hold you two.
Just like Ranni, a mix between "peaceful hypnotic ambiance" and "combat frenzy"! Something that stays with you forever!
1:48
Love that teleportation effect
Me too, it looks like a wormhole from space.
Boss was actually pretty easy compared to the other ones. The hardest part was getting to him with all the difficult enemies and scarlett rot.
Yeah I beat him in 2 tries he wasn't too hard but definitely not a pushover.
He's one of the hardest imo. On attempt #10 right this moment
@@BlkMac360 Bro I'm on attempt 20 right now, I think its the hardest one I've faced tbh since he keeps moving away, definitely easier if you're a ranged fighter
@@danix4883 I gave up for now. Ima level up some more than come back. I got my console in rest mode and pre-patched since they nerfed the mimic tear. I'll get him...eventually
@@BlkMac360 I used mimic tear for my 5 early tries, no success... Destroyed him with the wolf pack, mimic tear for this boss is useless.
This looks like me when I have to wake up at 5:30 am for work...
At first glimpse of this boss, I immediately shouted “IS THAT AMYGDALA?!” He felt and looked like an amygdala-like boss.
Basically Amygdala & Falling Star Beast’s lovechild
Same cause if you look back they're eeriely similar on how they act and placed.

Never played soul games in my life, but after seeing this boss fight and how super strange/creepy this boss looked I knew I had to get it… now I’m 50 hours into the game and love every second of it 😊
I loved your video because it illustrated the reality of fighting this boss for the first time and at a real level. I don't like when people upload fights with maxed leveled characters that make the fight looks like a walk in the park. Your video is real, this boss is really hard before your finally understand his moves set. Specially fighting against it with a melee build. Thank you, very much, for this great video. This is one of the most beautiful encounters in the game.
One of the best looking bosses in this wonderful game, love to defeat him even at nvl 60
I think I was at level 70 or so by the time I found this place. Just nuts. And there’s still so much I just ran by in the hell hole above
Got to him at about 75, best tactic for me was to stick by his face and wail on him
@BlackOutEmzZ yeah i only got to him at around lvl 105-110 too and i didnt notice the stake of marika outside the boss door so i summoned mimic tear because i didnt wanna redo lake of rot if i died. sadly that just made the boss even easier and i didnt get to see much of the spectacle because he p much got staggered to death
I'm getting Bloodborne vibes from this boss. I love it.
I loved how Astel instantly laser you once you entered lol
It reminded me of radhan

I fought this guy way earlier than I should've for a quest, and it's making me panic every time he gets hit by an attack that would one shot me and just tank it.
Same. I'm level 80 RN trying to figure out how I'm gonna kill him. Seems every video is just. "Whelp, hope you can tank some hits". Lol. Fuck me.
@@alondor8157 Quick question, what's your build?
@@mint5438 Finally got him down after 10 tries with a few tricks. I'm currently running a int/dex hybrid. Just guessing my stats cause I'm not in the game, but it's something like. 45 int 20 dex 40 vigor 15 end 25 mind. I use the Moonveil katana as my weapon.
@@alondor8157 Nice. I found him with the power stance moonveil katana and meteoric ore blade, but had to respec so I could use the weapon I fought him to get in the first place.
Meteor storm is easy to dodge just by running in a straight line. Made me terrified and feel like a badass at the same time.
Literally beat this one today for a quest line. Bashed my head against a wall on this one but with the right summon and what not I beat it, SO relieved I did lol.
What summon you use?
@@zendayastoes5234 if you haven’t beaten it yet I recommend using jumping heavy attack
@@zendayastoes5234 Mimic Tear, its in Nokrom behind an imp fog wall so need a stone key
@@UndeadRulez1 I used the one you find in the city on the way down here… two of those ladies with the weird sickle/whips. Mostly I just used them as a distraction. I found so much glovewort down there that I was able to upgrade 3 of the legendary ones to full.
i love the sound it makes when it clamps its pincers
Going into the void and astrial aspect of the game , imagine a DLC were theres a boss like aizen . Moving slow but illigent but has lighting speed when attacking and has 2 or 3 stages where transforms into hes final form . Since ive noticed this game loves the butterfly wing concept and colour purple associated with the void and space.
Wanna know a scary theory I just heard? The Astel are adult Falling Star Beasts. The pincers, the glowing blue eye in the center of the head, the stone covered body and gravity magic, it's all the same
Don't you fight an enemey called the Full Grown Falling Star Beast and it doesnt look like Astel?
@@mortem4342 Yeah, pretty sure it's in a crater very close to the Volcano Manor.
They're obviously related in some way, but no, falling star beasts are their own thing. There's a full grown one on Mt. Gelmir.
I first tried both versions of him. I noticed that, especially noticeable with a lot of the big enemies like the dragons, those giant corrupted avatars (like the one in stormveil castle, in the deep pit with Goldwyns face), astel and many more, staying very close to them makes them incredibly easy to beat.
“How to beat Astel at lvl 90”
I know right. Just look at the dudes health geezus
I was a little salty that he was able to just Facebook the boss. Lvl 65 I get two shot but I'm a squishy mage. Range doesn't help much either his fat head keeps moving around
What level / weapon upgrade level is recommended for this guy?
I was level 79 with a +15 claymore and +14 bastard sword and a jump attack with the claw talisman did less damage than a single swing of his katana in this video.
As horrifying as this boss is, I have to say that I LOVE the design of Astel! The colors!!!
To say nothing of the music, which is simply superb. Adds a surreal quality to the boss design. The Japanese do know how to make a good game.
Such a cool fight! Definitely using this as a boss battle in my D&D game!
Literally just found this boss
Where is he?
Literally just beaten this boss 😎
@@marc5681 Talk to the witch Ranni after beating the manor boss in Liurnia. You need to beat General Radahn first, they'll guide you from that point.
@Oasis it's actually not necessary to do the questline if you want to fight him :)
fuck these boss design is insane lol
That bug looks like it has a head of a human skull, galaxy body, bug pincer.
I already loved the game before getting to this but I was blown away by this boss. It was pure bliss fighting it, so beautifully designed
I KNEW these dragonflies were up to no good
Honestly I’m a little over halfway through the game rn and this is probably my favorite boss so far. Bad ass design, cool abilities, great music, and right in the sweet spot of difficulty for me
This is the coolest boss I've ever seen
“Alright that one’s not even fantasy, it’s just an alien Pim.”
This boss’s unsettling unique design combined with just how cut off its domain is from the outside world makes it really creepy
I just beat this thing and I need to gush because its visuals and animations are absolutely stunning. The moveset was balanced and fun for me which is also nice and I absolutely LOVE that gravity attack it does where it lifts you and everything near in the air it's absolutely awe-inspiring.10/10 boss, definitely among my favorites from all of fromsoft's games.
They just straight up say in its description that its a motherflipping alien that crash landed in Lands Between long ago.
1:55 - the OST just fits so well in this moment
“FUCK YOU, GO BACK TO BLOODBORNE”
-me after finally beating this awesome boss
Fallingstar beast was my fav boss before, then Radah, now definitely this guy.
How are you such a high level. Like what methods did you use.
the music is quite out of place, but it makes this bizzare encounter even more unique
Haven’t seen anyone reference this, but the beat strategy I’ve found to avoid his instakill grab attack is to crouch and then roll. Sometimes I forget about rolling and it works.
This is what I imagined Father Kos would look like in Bloodborne...
And the music is perfectly fitting for it. So terrifying.
we need a full game of bosses like this
Have you played Bloodborne?
When I walked through the door and saw this, shit just about fell outta my ass
And here I just beat Margit yesterday and everybody talkin about this weird space boss like he’s old news smh.
Whats the code for this chalice dungeon bro
Anyone know what Shirrako’s build is? I’m like super intrigued
If you need help with Astel, I know a good strat. Get Rotten breath and mimic tear, put a good weapon in left hand and use mimic as soon as you enter the room. Basically just spam breath cause it builds up scarlet rot on Astel and your mimic will use both the weapon and the breath so even more rot buildup. Just spam this but hang back occasionally and switch it's aggro between you and the mimic so it doesn't die right away. Did this with mimic +10 btw.
That's actually a pretty decent way to cheese this one ...
Scarlet rot, I didn't even think I can use that incantation against a boss.
Favourite boss.. Amazing fight.. Amazing arena background great design..
Thanks for these amazing videos pls show us your armor , build , weapons if you don’t mind 🌝
Astel looks like a zombie, a dragonfly, and a planetarium all got fused together.
do you mind if i use this footage for a video essay? asking for copyright purposes
I was looking for someone on the internet to see if they can block or dodge any attacks and u ate all of em, thank u
I've a fully upgraded fire giant's great shield and a talisman for poise. I went full Tarkus on this guy blocking the tail of planets and gravity spells all at once. Felt invincible.
Astel is like a cosmic sci-fi combination of the Amygdala & Darkbeast Paarl from Bloodborne.
How do you have so much defense? Even with the Veteran's set which is better than Radahn's Astel hits a lot more on me with his laser beam atk

Lmao ,fucking sniped
just got to relive an amazing moment i had in february 2022. thanks for this :)
:)
I like how you still have that health debuff (red square)
When I first saw Astel I immediately thought of the representation of Pennywise the Clown in its true form. And we are here battling it among the dead lights
This boss should definitely be introduced with a cut scene
I fucking freaked out the first time I saw this one. Goddamn scary...
I never noticed the hole in the skull was an eye, that makes it even creepier somewhat
"Doesn't look impossible.." Then I notice my HP bar is like half of yours, of course, you are Runed up but still. 50+ Vigor?
His Rune isn’t active.
Man I remember being morbidly fascinated when I faced this boss the 1st time
How to you get that armor?
Kinda odd how his Mini-Boss version is harder than is Remembrance version. But I suppose it makes sense considering it’s located in the Snowfield.
Ah, good to see the void has taken good care of my pet dragonfly
even just watching makes me tense up haha
My favorite fights aren't usually fighting againsts big entities or beasts but this was my favorite fight in Elden Ring
Anyone noticed that he is a refrence to Yogsothoth.?
Yogsothoth was a lovecraftian monster compirse of glowing orbs and eyes
I think this is the closer we Will get to Bloodborne 2. Just imagine this thing crawling in yharnam's buildings
this looks like the unholy combiation of Wolnir, the lava centipede from DS1 and the Orphan of Kos.
Astel looks like a Mix between Midir, Ebrietas, Darkbeast & Moonlight Butterfly
the boss as a whole is truly wholesome. i like the part where he have his mandibles clamp together at the start of the fight
Wow I only noticed now that the hole in Astel's skull has an eye in it.
That thing is nuts looking and I love it.
how does he get such good graphics on ps5? im on ps5 and they arent as clear
The perfect balance of eldritch and beautiful. One of my favorite bosses in games overall
But I would not want to wake up to it roaming the field behind my house
Eyo, but what if it was friendly to you? Some people dream of being dragon knights, you could be a void knight, riding Astel around lmao.
I recommend using the Fallingstar beast jaw. Took me three tries using that thing.
wait, what's that defense bubble item you used at the start?
its one of the properties of the magika potion
does anyone experience a couple of fps drops during the purple attacks ? especially when you are close to the boss and he uses teleportation, it drops fps quite a bit

When you realise that the star that crashed into Limgrave after you kill Radahn *was* Astel.
No it wasn't him. Probably his reinforcements but item descriptions say he crashed into the Eternal Cities long, long ago, destroyed an Eternal City and stole their stars
@@4MonsterhunterStory i was wondering the exact same thing, if Astel was the meteor that crashed Limgrave, then where do the creatures resembling Astel that keep throwing rocks at me in Nokstella come from lol.
@@luatle5879 Well Papa Miyazaki knows but it sure as hell is pretty vulgar of them throwing rocks at you
One of the most visually stunning bosses I’ve fought in this game so far
whats the lore behind this one? and how come the floor of the arena didnt break, as it did in the end of elden rings release trailer?
I think it’s on this video idk but someone said radhann had killed most of them when he conquered the stars and one was trapped so when you activate the meteor shower it’s gets released , prob bs tho but idk I just want the actual lore
Basically these Fallingstar beasts are aliens creatures from across the cosmos that seemingly wander across space until they find some place: that they can conquer
They also have a lifecycle and grow from being simple small Fallingstar beasts, to Mature Fallingstar beasts, and then they begin to molt as seen in Uhl, and I'd assume once they finally molt they become Astel's.
We don't really know what they want or why, they could feed on the civilizations they find or they simply like wandering. What we do know for sure is that a fully grown one(the naturalborn) landed in the Eternal City and destroyed the civilization and also "took away their sky".
Could be that the star debris that makes up fully grown Astel's is made up of the sky's they steal, which could mean that fully grown Astel's have probably destroyed many, many civilizations.
And we know that after what happened in the eternal city, an unknown amount of time later, Radahn became known as the Starscourge and so probably defeated a few Astel's himself. He also seemingly warded them off from invading The Lands Between for as long as he lived as well., or perhaps was even powerful enough to seal them in place using his power over gravity. Either way after his death it seems countless Fallingstars and Astel's are released, the vast majority returning to the void or going to new worlds.
And for what it's worth, there is actually a second Astel present in The Lands Between as well, in the norther region.
@@DarkDeathMarine appreciate this , where’d u find lore ?
Astel was the hardest boss fight I had faced at that point. I was filled with adrenalin after the fight. Little did I know that Malenia and Elden Beast and Dragonlord Placidusax would come thereafter which were 10x harder
Glad we finally get to meet Kos, or as some say, Kosm 🙃
