    I might need to visit a psychiatrist soon; this has become my favourite channel. Am I unhinged?
    Was that greater uncle of yours a founder of Herbert, SK?
    If I had an address I’d send you a jacket of mine. I like it a lot but it spends too much time on a hanger. It’d make you look a whole lot better than that grill looks on the chicken truck. Ha! Cute! But many may think I’m laying an egg with that opinion.

    The bumper and grille look great, but you are right... you'd have to go with frenched headlights.

    The George Barris comment is on point, no need to apologize. Love the Olds grille, would be great on my 46 Chevy sedan. Bumper is too much, think your idea of a floating grille bar is good!

    I like the bumper grill headlight treatment as shown. Something about the excessive amount of chrome on an old truck just works for me. Like a 1958 buick.😂

    PPS. I will try to copy your style, at least when i comes to your attitude, as I have got a new project. It’s an old wreck, that has been i the woods for some 50 years. All I have to do, is to learn how to make panel parts and how to weld. It’ missing a big part of the floor and the left valance have rotted away from the rest of the car.

    The new camera is noticeably better. The grill looked pretty good, but the bumper looked massive. I think that bumper will look even bigger once the top is chopped. I do like the Frenched headlight idea. Q jets ?..... ugh the carb from Hell.

    Would the Olds hood work with grill on the truck. Looks similar from the front shot

    • @CarterAutoRestyling
      @CarterAutoRestyling  10 місяців тому

      It probably could work, but I think it would be faster to modify the front of the Chevy hood. If my plan works I will still be able to use the stock Chevy hinges which will save a ton of time

  • @stuartstephens
    @stuartstephens 10 місяців тому +4

    Good save on the grille. The chrome looks to be in great shape, especially for a Canada car. It could work on the truck, but I'm not sure how the hood could be reworked to flow harmoniously with it. I think I prefer your original plan for the truck, save the grille for a future project. In the meantime it''ll look good hanging on the wall in your living room. 🙂

  • @Chevypowered5766
    @Chevypowered5766 10 місяців тому +5

    I think the grill looks good it does a little tweaking to work out better. the bumper looks heavy maybe without the bumper guards, but the ends fit nicely around the fenders, maybe you could take the center section out and extend the bottom of the grill with some kind of a roll pan as a filler.

    I remember watching CWM when you bought the truck from Scott- at the time Scott was not impressed with the truck, but like you was excited about sending it to the crusher. I am surprised you went to all the work to section the door only to notice that rest of it was REALLY rusty....Live and learn. I like the Olds grill and Buick headlights together. You might consider the bumer for the back of the truck......Finish the truck and drive to over the Scott's- I know he is enjoying watching your progress as I am.

    I like the look of the bumper and grill with those existing headlights , mainly because the headlights look like the fill the space on the front fenders between the grill and the bumper with uniform margin around. It looks neat and good protection for the front of the truck. Also the chrome quality is still really good.

    glad you saved the grill and bumper, but personally I think it's too bulky for the chicken truck. I also like the Buick headlight bezels. They give the truck more character in my opinion, but it's your creation so whatever you decide will look good. I've done the "where's my gloves waltz" too. The only difference is I usually end up with a mismatched pair. Great video showing those "little" necessary, time consuming repairs that actually go into these projects. I can hardly wait for the next video.

    I did a pre-purchase inspection on a BMW 3 series once, and discovered seam welds underneath that should not have been there. The back third of the car had been clipped off. Tons 'O' Bondo in the "C" pillars. Told the customer not to buy it who than told the owner why there would be no deal. Owner stormed up demanding to see the "issue". He had bought the car from a sketchy local body shop and had no idea of the true condition...

    I like the Buick headlight bezels. I'm wondering about IF you were to use pieces of the Olds grill instead of the whole assembly.
    Nice work on the countersunk holes.
    Hinge tweak worked out nicely.

All together it does look a little much. Wait and decide later. Film quality is good. Sound is good. Work and humor perfect.

    I like to think of your jacket as the kind of thing you'd get if H.P. Lovecraft took up fashion design.

    Kyle: It looks like the original Dreamtruck had a custom tube bar grille. The Olds looks like a pretty good fit (I like a Custom with OE parts incorporated). Since it is a large opening a big car grille like a Chrysler or Cadillac would fill in the front well. Whatever you do will be cool!😎
