Thanks Charles, you’ve just rekindled my memories 10 years or so when we used to live in Singapore and travelled this route several times. It was always fantastic value and just a little bit more expensive than the budget airline alternatives. Good find and well worth it. Cabin has also been upgraded but on such a short flight not a biggie. Thanks for sharing
Excellent review as always. Love a bit of KLM, often a good choice to the Far East. Travelled with them in business to Singapore and back from Hong Kong last year in business for less than PE on BA....only issue was we flew to and from Oslo.
Surprisingly good. It's not top notch as you alluded to in your report, but it's a bit of a bargain to have such a comfortable seat for the price you paid. Shame about the Priority Pass lounge in Denpasar but other than that it looked like a really impressive onboard experience.
Not too sure to be honest. Think the lounge just wasn’t that good. For the flight, usually if no alcohol is served pre-departure it’s due to that country imposing high taxes on alcohol that the airline isn’t willing to pay. Not sure what the situation is in Indonesia for that though.
Indonesia has the highest muslim population of any other country in the world. The fact most Muslims don't drink alcohol, may be an influence on the no alcohol, not sure. You never know with these things.
@@charlesontravelsYep, and religion plays a big part too, but I still don't see why they don't have it since the Bali airport lounge probably mostly caters to western tourists like us !
I paid a return to Tanzania on kenya airways, economy was around £800, but on the return leg only, I noticed business was only £160 more, booked it but then my Kenya airways flight was very delayed and I asked them to move me to KLM (a sky team partner) and they did! Bargain!
Looks like a good flight on this short 5th freedom hop ! Hope you enjoyed your trip.
It was great thanks!

Another nice. "cheap" little way of experiencing a business class suite on a fifth freedom route. One to remember.....thanks Charles.
Thanks!

That definitely feels like it would be worth the detour to Oslo, especially if you’re getting it for less than premium economy!
I Fly A Lot KLM,Most In Premium Comforf.Great Video

Next time maybe I’ll stretch to the full fare for a nicer lounge experience!
Why no alcohol pre departure or in lounge?

That’s a great result!
