VW DSG Transmission Service Hack: How to refill oil WITHOUT special fill tool + Filter Change 💥

The DSG service requires you to refill the transmission using a special refill tool - accessed from the underside of the vehicle.
You can access the transmission filter and refill from the top of the engine bay!

Nice work! Can you do this in a 2010 VW Jetta 2.5? Meaning can I fill trans oil from the top?

Assuming it’s a NON DSG transmission, you should have a fill plug on the side of the transmission. This method I show is typically only used with DSG transmissions because they don’t have a fill plug and require a special tool.

How much did you use to refill?

This was only a top up because we lost some during an axle replacement. But the book calls for 6.3-7.4 quartz for a full fill (completely drained).
