You know you're in trouble as a Polish company when you lose all your Piotrs and Pawels and replace them with Sanjeets and Biknars from overseas support studios in India. If you've ever been on artstation you'll know that all of the best 3d/Z-Brush artists out there are usually some Polish guy either named Piotr or Pawel who no one in America has ever heard of but, who does absolutely amazing work. It makes sense as they seem to be traditional names, therefore traditional values/hardworking/non-DEI hires, that's just my theory anyway.

Also I understand why he doing double speak because CD Project RED had a lot going on CP77 and it had a disastrous launch but even before that they were looking for investment because PC77 also had a disastrous development and they arent say Sega that cut the loses of Hyena as they had other titles and could take the loss instead of throwing more money into a obviously mismanaged project that would likely fail out the gate (AKA throwing good money after bad), CD Project RED just had CP77 that was their next big thing so they couldnt do that, sure they have GoG but that they simply couldnt afford to cancel CP77 as they had no backup.
This leads to CD Project RED being at the mercy of investment companies that are are knee deep in DEI, at this point they cant go back otherwise investment gets pulled and they have no fallback but people seem to had enough of the pushing politics into gaming so on one hand you have to show your investors they are committed to DEI as that is one of the strings that is attached and on the other now you have to pretend you arent because after all the recent high profile flops this would be a signal the game is going to follow the same path.
The problem is not the companies or the people running said companies, the problems always been DEI in investment companies being used as "free money" that is a major cause of the current recession, few companies have the funds to sustain themselves and many companies are public with said investment companies being shareholders that sit in the board.

Hehe, funny, Im a senior game designer of 16 years, worked on a number of AAA games on various SDKs, almost worked for them in 2018 but I decided to rather spend some time travelling after KCD than crunchung on Cyberpunk which turned out to be a good decision, now I tried to apply for a senior writing position for CD Projekt Boston and guess what, they havent even checked my linkedin and automatically rejected me this time around despite having all the skills and experience they were looking for, now I know why.
Really is sad to me, there was a time where CD Projekt Red was the gold standard in gaming. Yet they've fallen as well. Granted I take comfort knowing the KCD crew took on a bunch of their talent and that many industry vets are starting their own studios.
I just wish it was easier to track down where the people who made great games went to.

Unfortunately this is the cycle of video game company life. Almost all of the great companies of the 90s and early 00s are now blundering corporate hulks that can't not screw up every time. Whether it's making s**t games, all the good devs jumping ship over years, out-of-touch and greedy CEOs, or Woke BS in an attempt to garner ESG cash is irrelevant, they all become corrupt garbage at some point.
The only one that seems to have escaped this predictable cycle at this point is Nintendo, but they have issues of their own.

I think Baldur's Gate 3 is an amazing achievement in its own right in the category of RPG. It belongs in the same tier as Witcher 3, or Elden Ring.
Personally I didn't like it. The main thing it has going for itself is its budget and things that come directly as a result of it. Then again it is a Larian game at its core and they are obsessed in hiding most of their game behind companions while being incapable of writing them in a compelling manner. Every single companion I've met was unlikable. Someone I wouldn't want to have in my party. Where are the real, normal, people? It felt like the illithids went around bringing all the specialest of snowflakes together onto the same ship. Those are characters made by players I wouldn't want to play RPG with.
Every single one of them hogging your attention and trying to become the protagonist. Where are the unlikely heroes rising up to the task despite their humble beginnings? Where are the genuinely good people? I wouldn't trust any of their companions to not stab me in my sleep.

Cdpr has released one game in what the last decade that wasn't the Witcher 3? They then spent years fixing Cyberpunk 2077 for free to get it where it should of been at launch. I hope the next Witcher game is good but my god I'm not optimistic.

I recall they lost a lot of talent after Witcher 3 because of the crunch culture that had developed in the company.

CDPR knowingly released a completely busted game on last gen consoles, barely working game on current gen consoles and PC. They can go kick rocks for eternity. Also the games media shilling for that sh!t was disgraceful.

Oddly Ten Cent and Saudi Arabia, needing to divest and grow, have a record for buying and growing games studios, leaving them creatively alone, by many dev accounts, and focus only in earning money ie - make good games that customers are willing to buy and spend money. Clown world where China and Saudi Arabia are focus on earning money by making products appealing to what customers are willing to spend, compared to Western companies who are focus in pushing Agenda. Hey Endymion. The way they're hiring by race and merit is quite easy. It's one of those "technically correct" things. They're hiring best talent IN THAT CERTAIN race/sex group. Like for example if you have 10 people applying for a position and they're all disabled lesbian POC-s, then you hire the best 2 of those 10. Think of it this way, the highest ranked female chess player isn't in the top 100 of FIDE ranking. And when they say they want the best chess player, they don't mean they want the best chess player overall, they want a best chess player who is also female. Which means you immediately dismiss the top 100 players. Same goes for the DEI. When they claim they hired the best talent, what they leave out is that they maybe hired the best talent who also met all the race/sex/whatever based criterias. That does not mean they hired overall best talent.
Im positive CDPR was already beginning to be compromised at mid development of Cyberpunk there is no explanation why suddenly after 5 years of development most of the veterans of the company left, they had to almost remake the game from the ground up with lots of unexperienced people resulting in a disastrous launch, by now that company is fully hijacked by the rainbow DEI MAFIA
Don't let this distract you from the fact CD Project Red lied for years about Cyberpunk. And ripped off fans with a half developed game.

I think there's needs to be a dev investigation on UE5.
Remember that Epic Games themselves issues DEI requirements for use of their engine.
Now every team is using UE5, and we keep hearing about issues with it.
I'm willing to bet that not only is it a personelle problem in training the devs, but also a engine hindrance problem.
