(1738) Review: QA Pro 2 Fast Opener
Вставка
- Опубліковано 10 лип 2020
- In video 1738 I'll review and try out the new QA Pro 2 from MultiPick. This tool is designed for FAST (20 seconds or less) entries by emergency services, so it is not designed to avoid damage to the door hardware. In this case we trade off some hardware damage for expedited entries.

I love you Bill you are my morning sunshine, but your intros rape my ears every time.
This one did !
Please lower the volume ;~)
For real! Bill's vids are always muted tile the intro sections clear lol
Finally a lockpick even I can use.
It kinda reminds me of Crocodile Dundee.
"THAT AIN'T A LOCK PICK, THIS IS A LOCK PICK"!
Great review Bill

@ roy lol 😂 That aint a Knife , Thisss is a Knife ! ( crocadile dundee ) that was great !

@@keezin1 I see you've played knify spoonie before!
WOW, I love getting through doors very quickly! Great video and review as always Bill!!!
I'm glad I wasn't using headphones when I clicked on this vid 🤪
That's a serious piece of kit for emergency services. Never seen it till now, cheers Bill.🍺👍🏻😎
I don't think this is for emergency services. In THAT use case you can get in faster by being more destructive. (A Doorjam Spreader or a ram would open it in a second, without needing you to carry a drill and set up equipment.)
Ignore this numpty, we use it in the fire service mate...less destructive if you know how to use it quickly.
My oh my that sure is a fancy slide hammer!
OUCH! Goodbye eardrums, at the intro. But what an awesome destructive entry device.
Thanks Bill.
Amazing piece of kit.
Cool tool!
I'm glad I found your channel. Interesting stuff!
What an impressive set of tools.
No pre drilling. No broken screws. Damn those things are tough but not brittle.
Now to make one for car doors.
There expensive but there engineering is second to none!!!!!
I agree I'm waiting on a set of theirs in 0.015 (there) right now
@@haydenyork8414 I have several things from multipick and it's true what they say you do get what you pay for!!!
@@Westhelockpicker yea I bought the talon 2, a wafer breaker kit for Americans, and a new pinning mat... It's addicting lol.
@@haydenyork8414 tell me about it. I have so much stuff it's rediculus! I have the Sparrows mat like everyone else but I've never used it. I even made a dust cover for it lol. I just got another one from lockpicks.com so now I've got 2 that are both under a dust cover. I'll never use either one! I have several pinning tray's from Bobby keyz and I bought some from Bosnian Bill and that's what I use when gutting a lock! You should check out that new pinning mat at lockpicks.com I love it! Don't even get me started on tools lol
Hey Bill I do a lot of commercial this will come in handy thanks for the presentation .
Love the reviews Bill.
That's some serious kit, and from Multipick, I'd imagine that it's very well built.
Great review Bill hell of a tool there thanks for the info
I need this tool in my life
Great video Bill
Great tool for helping police or emergency personal get it rather than kicking the door down that causes hundreds of dollars in damage. Great video as usual!
Gotta love those Wera Rapidaptor's. Good taste. Worth every cent.
The key is often used in building shells. Sometimes the first doors are inserted without cylinder so you meet regulations (block access so nobody can wander into the house, fall off the empty stairway with missing railing and stairs and later sue you), but any worker can easily get inside and work. It is not meant to be secure, but more to prevent children from playing there if noone is around. If someone opens such a door it is pretty much intentional so he can’t complain later.
Definitely useful in an emergency entry situation! Always good stuff from the Germans 👍🏻 thanks Bill!
I love Multi-pick and Sparrows both have there own thing and both are full of innovation.. what a cool tool, don't think I'd ever use it tho
I so need this in my collection.
Yes, but with a rocket or explosive charge pulling the core out.
Looks like a great tool for Civil Defence, and Fugitive Recovery work.
Thanks
I sold something like this to the military, I worked closely with the door kickers between this the hydraulic spreader and gearwrench's indexable pry bar they loved them
Hydraulic bolt cutters are useful too.
But all you really need is a ramset...
@@ACombineSoldier sold those too, the different styles were for either engineers or door kickers, for either longterm use of a structure or get in get out
Love it.
Damn that things a bit of a monster!
Great video and a very slick tool. I always found that if I needed into a residence exigently the easiest way to kick the door. That being said if you were checking on the welfare of the occupant picking the lock was the best. That way the door could be secured while the patient was transported. It's easy to get caught up in the excitement, but the damage and the unsecured door will cost the person your helping a lot of money. This tool does have its usefulness with some prior planning.
I like the different intros. Nice job to the one(s) Who make them!! :)
And also the videos. :))
Wow....lockbuster 2000!
Great bit of kit, bit cumbersome (probably easier with more practice) but certainly gets the job done 👍
On the cumbersome part, I have a desig for something less damaging and simpler to operate. Multipick, you're welcome to contact me, the design is on the market!
Use these at work, anything over a 1 star euro lock they struggle. Also come up against anti drill locks aswell and the screws wouldn't even drill in
Thank you. You answered my question I was wondering if it would work on an abloy.
@@peterv1318 Just use an abloy cutting bit on your drill. It will eat through it quicker than a staffy eating your leftover dinner.
@@peterv1318 we use them for emergency service gaining entry so we are using them in a rush, if you can find a good drill bit/ screw it would probably be fine. Amazing bit of equipment (when it works)
It's perfect lol 😎
love your vids, keep it up
Had a Police call one time where an elderly female was "fallen and she couldnt get up" but on the phone with 911, the entry door was made from (Stanley) steel mounted to cinder block walls - had to kick it in - boy oh boy was that difficult, this tool may have made the entry much easier - thank you Bill for sharing 👍👌😉
Very effective! But, wow, that's a lot of $ to pay for such a simple tool. A trip to the scrap pile and half an hour of fabrication and I too could be ripping locks out.
That's a bloody impressive unit!! (that's what she said). Doors in Europe tend to be of a heft we don't have in North America and that thing would be crazy effective. Great review 👍
The Navy's MR (machinist) used to take a ball joint puller and machine the end of the screw to fit the core screws, if the engineers or whoever occupy a building for long term they would run through and bust out and sometimes replace the locks
That`s a hell of a thing, perfect for the emergency services as you say :)
Great vid, the intro is super loud, scared both me and my dog
Same Technique Used On Car Ignitions With A Dent Puller .
Neat tool. From a F.D. Perspective it Just looks way to fiddly to be practical in a real emergency situation when you have a set of irons right there on the truck
I have seen someone use a slide hammer to do about the same thing. It was a little more destructive.
So, what's the difference between this, the Multilock core puller, and finally will it work on SFIC/LFIC.
HEY BILL!!!! THE VOLUME LEVEL OF THAT INTRO IS KINDA LOUD! SORRY IF I'M YELLING, I CAN'T HEAR MYSELF TYPE. MY HEADPHONES SEEM TO HAVE SONICLY WELDED TO MY HEAD.
Craftsman!!
Maybe a tool to have in the toolbox for entry to assist a fallen party or less time-sensitive access need, but for rapid entry, we have anything from Pro-bars to hydraulic tools that make quick access of any door inward or outward opening.
Uh huh. And when you're done you'll need a new door and frame, versus just some new hardware.
Bosnianbill when unavoidable, yes, but I will brag on my firemen that we have assembled a bag of tools for access and the less damage the better.Safe customer service is job number one in our mission to serve our citizens and those passing through. I do think that this tool would be a good addition to our bag of options, and thank you for sharing it.
@@reedbullock791 Thank you for your service!
Problem with theses destructive entry tools, ie snappers, bell pullers is that euro locks are mostly anti snap and cam locked. Using one of theses on those types of lock with create more problems. Generally the emergency services here in the uk have a big red key that opens all doors with force.
They have a what? Can you elaborate on the big red key? Is that a metaphor for an axe or something?
So... replace some hardware or replace a door that someone chopped open with a big red key? Hmmmm. In a true life threatening emergency I could understand it, but not in about 90% of the callouts. Using unnecessary force and destruction will cost you big $$ when the citizen sues the department.
Big red key is basically a police battering ram.. (usually coloured red)
Arnold Schwarzenegger would pull the core out with his bare hands :)
BB that intro music is painful. Great video but ouch on the intro music.
BUT, all the exit music needs are dancing Cossacks!
I know this an advert and I know you are saying that it wont damage the handle furniture but you can see the dent where you previously damaged the handle furniture with the plate that goes on the cylinder as you were levering the device to pull the plug
The screws appear to be tapcons. They are masonry screws designed for mounting in concrete. If that is what they are you can pick them up at home depot pretty cheap.
How it will work with locks that are having cuts on the cylinder? I mean that safety feature that prevents core snaping.
Work in emergency services and I've seen one of these in action. Pretty much as easy as you showed, nice to get to see it in a less stressful situation and get 'hands on' with it, in a way.
That strange bit you were wondering about is more of a screw steadying bit. Slide the head of the screw in there and it helps with both the speed as well as keeping things steady in those emergency situations, far less of a chance of the screw popping off the bit or it going in wonky
Great video Bill. Awesome Tool. I want to win it and donate it to my local emergency responders. Think they'd love a tool like this.
It looks so fun to use that I want to try one right now and destroy my own door.
Great video!, I wanna ask you if it works on tumbler locks?
Those screws look like Tapcons. You could probably use the 5/16 head screws for the same job.
Aren't these screws available at Home Depot? I think they sell them as concrete screws.
Is the 1/4" T-20 screw driver adapter bit suitable for the 5.5 mm screws? In the case of the Wendt Zieh-Fix bell pull tool the supplied adapter bit is not the correct Torx size (too small) for the 5.5 mm Pit Bull screws.
Getting a 'bit' technical for a comment ;~)
Please use this when I am having a heart attack and can't get the door open.
Will this work on a 3 star dimple locks like the ultion wxm or abs?
Being that you’re going to destroy the cylinder anyway wouldn’t it be easier just to drill the shear line and use a flat head screwdriver to rotate mechanism to open ?
Very cool, Bill! Excellent review. It looks like it would work very well for Respectful entry for Fire Departments. If you held the chain with your hand, could you turn the tool upside down? I'm wondering if that might help with leverage in some cases. Or, I need to review basics physics.... ;-)
I think that the jaws that grab the chain are hooked (like with cable cutters), so as long as you keep pressure on, the chain wont dislodge.
I feel sorry for the door and the lock. That was some brutal torque from that tool. :-(
❤
What does the torque bit at 3:35 do? I didnt get one with my kit
So, what would happen if the door has an antisnap core in the lock? My current door lock has an iseo cylinder where the front of the cylinder overlaps the body of the lock, and it's bevelled, so the pressure plate would slip off and there's every chance you would just pull the screw out. That said, I can see that this would be useful to high court judgement officers who are enforcing on the day evictions. Quick entry, less damage to the door, easy cheap fix for the landlord.
How does it work on deadbolts and door knobs?
Really awesome tool. I might have to buy one. Recently I purchased the bell core remover and it works well. I've had problems getting the screws to go into certain locks because the steel is so hard. Even drilling first is a hassle. Any ideas on how to overcome this?
cobalt drill bits. only drill bits i own. snap on tools sells a set in a steel box.
Yeah it is a hardness issue. If your drill or screw are a lower hardness than the steel of the lock, then your item will end up damaged. Lower hardness items can't scratch higher hardness ones unless they are moving with a high rotational velocity.
I may buy one of these for my local FD it I don't win.
10/10 You got it licked!
I thought the other core puller was fast enough 😅
According to bill, all of Arnold Schwarzenegger's personal possessions are made of machined steel and iron. I enjoy this imagery very much
Or just use a regular screw, a claw hammer and a piece of wood. Does the same job with less damage.
if you use it without the plate it would just pull the lock out, otherwise you are prying it out, so without the plate it would work quicker, hence the replacement jaws
Would this work on 1 Star and 3 star anti snap barrels
I hope somebody that’s a volunteer fire fighter/EMS wins this!
Firefighter's already have a quick entry tool, it's called an axe.
@@jimnms
True story: I was at a fundraiser for a volunteer fire department when I locked my keys in my car. I thought, "No problem. Someone around here will have a method to get in!" (This was more than 25 years ago).
And, yes, they offered me an axe.
Fortunately, a "civilian" with in a pickup with a gun rack drove by and offered up a Slim Jim...
ed sileo In my early years I worked EMS and we (2 beginners) were called to a parking lot for „potential heat stroke of a minor“. Dispatch didn’t know it was an infant on the back seat of a locked car with the parents helplessly standing outside. The classic.
We only have a small axe on the rig and no training whatsoever and we didn’t want to smash the back window with an infant there, so we had to call fire for assistance. We have combined dispatch for fire and EMS, so listening to them after they got alarmed was slightly embarrassing.
Long story short, fire department was only minutes away and they arrived with 3 full cars blasting sirens. 1 guy taped the window and a second walked up with a spring loaded pin and shattered the window. Well at least the kid was fine.
That’s when I first got interested in getting entry without smashing an axe into doors/windows.
As for opening house doors in emergencies : I really hate it. There is so much paperwork after we do it and police has to come, inspect the scene and secure the door so noone can clear out the house when we are gone. I prefer fire doing it so we can concentrate on the patient. It’s also better to have more witnesses that can confirm that it was necessary to get in fast.
Doean't the new anti-snap protection guidelines defeat this?
When rapid entry is necessary for saving a life, emergency personnel would save time using a kinetic device/battering ram attack on the door & frame. A few swings in a matter of seconds & they're inside. Generally, saving an individual's life is worth more than a door. (There are a few exceptions though 😉.)
The benefit of this tool, IMO, would be during operations where gaining entry is necessary without a battering ram's distinct sound alerting potential suspects inside. Such as drug, terrorist, & child trafficking raids, where the element of surprise works as a force multiplier.
The battering ram doesn't help if the door opens outwards, also in Europe most doors are not made of paper.
I don't think your battering ram will work on a main entrance with both the door and the frame made out of solid steel, which is quite common in Europe. This tool will.
In Europe we have sometimes doors with multipoint locking bolts, for example 3 on each of the long sides and each 2 on top and bottom. I don't know if a battering ram can break through that. I think it is more usefull in Europe than the US.
@@Syntov Yeah i have a door like that, it has 5 different locking points, 3 on the horisontal axis and one in the top and one in the bottom of the door.
BUT...My door also has glass so honestly, if rapid entry is needed and noise is not an issue, it will be a lot faster to just smash the glass and reach in and unlock. (I have a turn to open inside, not another lock..People that has the locks on the inside usually have a key in the lock for convenience).
I can not see many times this tool will be the fastest way into a house.
The battering RAM technique doesn't always work, quickly as a lot of doors locked with hooks and or extra bolts usually engage by pulling the door up, using the doors inbuilt mechanism, the door becomes harder to open because the mechanism gets damaged, if the door handle goes up, it may have that mechanism, pulling a pulling the lock will be the quickest way getting.
Hey Bill I have an Abus granite lock that I have lost the key to would that thing be strong enough to rip the core out . Thankfully the lock isn’t attached to anything ! Would be more than happy to drop it by and you could test it out . Even if it does ruin the lock it’s not like it’s useful anyways right now !
I'd love to have it but can't guarantee I'll ever get it open. I DID buy two new DD picks designed for that lock, so there IS a chance, just not a good one. That lock has a LOT of discs, and most of them have false gates. If you're still up for it, my address is:

Thanks!
Bosnianbill The reason why I suggested it for the polar was because I kind of attempted to drill it open already and there’s part of a drill bit stuck in the bottom of it.
Do you remember me at all but I am the federal officer that sent you Sables Trap about a year ago . I will drop the lock in your mail box tonight
@@dawolf7784 Ah, yes I DO remember that evil lock! Before you spend good money sending that Abus though... if the drill bit is stuck in the keyway then there's probably no way for me to get a pick into it.
Bosnianbill Understood. I was just gonna drop it off in your mailbox at your residence. I didn’t know if that Core puller would be able to pull the core out and figured it would maybe make another video for you and if you destroy it meh it’s being used as a door stop right now 🤣
Bosnianbill I delivered the item it’s sitting on your porch
I like it. It's 'lockpocking' for dummies
3:39 Its Arnold Schwarzenegger's Bike chain link remover.
OK, it's fast. But also big and cumbersome, and expensive.
Bell core extractors that multipick also offer do the same thing at a lower cost and fit in your pocket.
They may be a bit slower, but still do the same thing in about a minute. So is it worth it to knock a half a minute off your time? Any emergency that 30 seconds is going to make the difference between a save or a fail has already failed.
Take it its useless against locks with snap attack security?
Would this work on an abloy?
Bill in the fire service we have an even faster way into the door it’s called a Halligan and axe
On a proper door that actually takes longer. About 2-3 minutes is the acceptable standard for our fire department in destroying a door.
And that works on a steel door does it?
Doktaah Who? It’s a joke
mrfrenzy you’re putting way too much thought into a joke
What's a Halligan?
your intros are really loud sometimes, especially compared to your voice. I'd suggest you lower the intro volume quite a bit when editing the video
Haha what a stupid comment
@@TheLockLab No, actually a true comment.
@@NotBroihon It last 3/4 seconds... pointless and petty someone takes the time to put a video out for others... Has it wrecked your life ?? hope your poor little ear drums are ok go lay down for a while
Be nice if there was room for a drill in that box.
Hey bill I took apart my best acess lock and I cannot put it back together if u send it could you please fix it.
Nope, sorry. Once apart, they generally stay apart unless you have specialized tools.
You can probably get those screws at Fastenal for a fraction of the price. It may be worth while to look.
Will this work on a Bowley Lock?
Send me one and let's find out....😀
Why would you use this rather than just using a fire axe or a battering ram or some other tool that will get you in even faster than this?
Im a locksmith, almost bought the bell but price Wasn't worth it. I can pick most cylinders fairly quickly but if a destructive entry is required I can normally drill and open within one minute anyway. Cool idea just doesn't seem like it will have much use, emergency services here in aus just kick doors in
I live in N. VA and the departments here always try NOT to destroy doors because they are expensive to replace. In a DIRE emergency, they WILL, but really try to keep their citizens happy and avoid being sued for a new door and frame.
well, we ALL know that aussies are famous for kicking!
I want to see that tool tackle a assa standard cylinder. It won`t work.
No problem. Send me one and let's find our for sure. LockLab, P.O. Box 2160, Merrifield, VA 22116
Hmmm, I gotta ask, Is that really much faster than using the other bell tool that uses a wrench or a socket and ratchet?
Could you just use a like deck screw instead of those screws
Bill talked about that with a similar unit. These are stronger and don't snap as easily, so you're less likely to have half a screw stuck in the lock.
Destructive entry tool? ... Why not just use a plasma torch outright?
Uh...fire hazard? Some people have oxygen bottles in their homes. Burning a pet barking on the other side of the door? Other than that, I see no reason you can't use your plasma torch. Go for it.
