- Filmmaker Octave Zangs was deeply troubled by recent political developments threatening Oregon's public lands. In making Our Land, he aimed to highlight the state's qualitative and quantitative values. Zangs teamed up with wildlife biologist Jason Fitzgibbon to enjoy the state's wealth of outdoor activities, and embarked on what looks like the road trip of a lifetime. This will always be my favorite Overland/adventure video. A mix of all the things that make me happy. So refreshing and I will watch this over and over for many years.
Absolutely incredible footage! Proud Oregon resident here! Thank you so much for bringing this issue to light in your video. Oregon public lands, and all public lands across the US should remain just that...public. Accessible to all without fear of privatization.
I love this little film. Probably my favorite outdoor video. I watch it pretty often when I need a little break from my desk and can't get outside as often as I want in my banged up but loyal 225k miles 100 series Land Cruiser.
These lands belong to the American people, not developers or corporations.
Loved this film the first time I saw it several years ago,. It's always worth another watch. Great work Octave Zangs!
I’ve seen this overland short film no less than 8 times, still my favorite. It combines everything I love to do.
Such a nice Cruiser, perfect build.
exactly
I don't surf, bike or fish but I still enjoyed watching your video. I love our Oregon back country and I get around just fine in my old Forester, camera handy. Hope it lasts for my grand children to enjoy. Oh my gosh, to hear the surround sound coyotes. Nothing like this. Happy, safe travels.
This was a really well done video with a excellent message
Jason
I enjoyed this video and appreciate the underlying message of concern regarding our public lands. I am wondering if you are willing to send me the tracks you took. I would love to drive some of those same roads and experience those amazingly beautiful places. Thanks.
Amazing Video!! Love how the outdoors is always welcoming and happy to have us!! Get out there and create adventure and memories!
This is my favorite UA-cam video ever !!! Great job 👌🏾
Mine to
By far the best thing I've seen in a long time. great work. I'm fortunate enough to live in BC, this really made me feel what its like to be out there in the mountains.
I cant get over how nice that Land Cruiser is..... Life Goals.....
Wow just Wow ... this is our land
Excellent video with an even greater message
What an amazing trip. You guys really know how to live!
Amazing video, Octave Zangs did an amazing job, inspires me to go out and adventure.
Absolutely outstanding filmmaking. Make me want to get in the Land Rover and go.
One of the best Overland videos I have ever seen!
🙌 Incredible 🙌
Outstanding production. ***** 5 Stars
Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic videography and timely message. Thank you.
F the haters. We need to protect our public lands, and that is that. These keyboard warriors don't even understand the half of what they offer. Great video. #keepitpublic
even after all this overdone editing and 100k worth of equipment the video does no justice for how awesome our oregon national Forrest really are. i have been exploring our national Forrest for years now and still every time I go out I'm speechless at the beauty.
Once again that is the most beautiful Vehicle i have ever seen
Thank you.
Beautiful film.
I just wanna say you are one of my biggest inspirations and I look up to you so much, I love your videos. Keep up the great work and nice 4 runner!!!
Very cool video. I hope to be able to do much of the same adventures here in Northwest Montana this coming summer.
Beautiful cinematography.
This land is my land, this land is your land, this land was made for you and me
that's just bad ass! Thank you for taking me along!
wonderfully done.a true art piece.
Well done! I really enjoyed the ride along! I am not a videographer thank goodness! Seems like such a crotchety group of old crabapples! Lol!
I have driven and ridden sections of this trail in the Malheur NF, great solitude at times and some great riding, fishing, camping! There is a great swimming hole downstream at that Ford on the Malheur river.
I’m drooling over that land cruiser
Great video, here's looking forward to warmer weather!
Great video, and I Looooove your Land Cruiser!
we can't let these bureaucrats take our land!
really beautifully filmed
Beautifully filmed, but i can't help but wonder how the sacfifice of filming this removed you from experiencing what we get to relish in the in the final cut. I'm only saying this because you have so many shots that have to be planned out, or so many cameras in place that the the experience is diluted to a certain extent. I'm interested because i would like to convey my experiences to a broader audience but still enjoy them for myself. Thank you for the beautiful film.
Wow! Awesome. Awesome video. I am full of emotions! Thanks
Fuck the haters. This film is sick & gets me stoked to get out and enjoy the land. Chapeau!
I have to know more details on the bike rack setup. I like that you still retain departure angle on the Land Cruiser.
Absolutely love this video! Very well done! Love the Land Cruiser:)
Wow... great video. You guys are so lucky to be able to do this. Don't ever take it for granted.
Awesome video, thank you
Fantastic video. This may help explain to my family what I do for fun.
ks5526 watch youtube videos?
There is a such thing as TOO MUCH description. But a really fantastic video!
I think this video is the shit. Great content great quality just bad ass
Epic video
Great job and thank you.
8:34 love that place
Nice job on the video!
Very nice work. Thank you for sharing. Would really appreciate knowing more about your LC mods. I like the rear set up. Appears to be an ARB modular rear bumper. Is that right? Dig the bike rack on the rear, but no clue what it is. Is that mounted in the hitch receiver? Do you have to remove it to open the rear?
If you really want to know more about LandCruisers go to ih8mud website. I think they are the best, most informative site for LC and always super helpful.
I just stumbled on your channel. Absolutely amazing!
Very well executed. Congratulations. More success on your videos.
So Awesome ...... Great trip mates ....what is the music ?.....
This is brilliant
Sorry to chime in 4 years later here but I live in oregon now and I'd like to try this.. any way I could get a map of your trip?
Interesting content but the excessive use of slow motion makes the content less engaging
Awesome video guys! What bike rack is that? Trying to drop my bikes off my roof but I still want unimpeded access to my bed/tailgate and this rack looks perfect
It's a 1up A bit pricey but well worth it one of the best racks in my opinion
how can i get more info? like is there a petition that we can sign?
Your narration is next to that of Morgan Freeman. Thanks for the inspiration.
Awesome 60 series!! Who made the rear bumper? I am trying to find one with a swing out bike rack and tire carrier for my 80.
Excellent...
Fantastic video!
Thank you for sharing.
You guys did an awesome fucking job with this.
Awesome Production!
Any chance you would share the location of that road through Malheur?
Love that rig.
An awesome video , thank you
anybody know which rooftop tent this is on the land cruiser?
It is the James Baroud Horizon Vision folding Roof Top Tent
I have been looking for bike rack like that for my Land Cruiser. Where do you find on that will clear the spare tire?
Beautiful film guys! Long live the PNW!
What was the itinerary for your trip?
You can tell a lot of work when in to this
why slow mo, because everything looks better in show mo
What has become of the land now? Is it still being able to be privatized?
What fly fishing rods are you guys using at 10:15? Looks super packable!!!
Great video, excellent cause!!! Where did you get the RAZOR-CLAM chowder??? That stuff was banned on the East coast 15 years ago..
Awesome video 👍👍
epic... thanks for sharing
Anyone know which rod and kit he has @9:56 ???
Wow! Thanks for this video
great video.
Great videography
Great video but you leave out the part about lands being designated “wilderness,” which means no mechanized travel. Not even bikes. How are we supposed to experience those lands if we can’t get there?
Damn, that was really good.
Nice vídeo. Regards from Costa Rica!
BRAVO!
Wow what a nice rig!!!
Great video guys, don't listen to the trolls. Looks like it was an awesome trip, give me some serious wanderlust!
love the video ... a bit verbose with the narration though
Oregon is full of verbosity in its Nature. It is much needed
Super cool
Good quality filming... Wank is strong is a funny ass comment, LOL. Love the 60 series
Amazing job👌🏻
Nice video, keep the videos coming!
Whats the name of that blue lake?
How do you keep your rig fueled up?
this was amazing
There is nothing to say if the Federal Government gives it up the State can't take control. I am sure if the State had control it would not be hard to lobby the state to preserve the land but keep it open to the public.
We? Us? I only saw 1 dude...Anyway it would be a good idea to show how citizens can help defeat this robbing of national land. Once it's gone we'll never get it back. BLM and National forest land is some of the most amazing places in America, on on this earth. Just a suggestion about how you can add info to get in contact with your local congress person or legislature. We can't just complain about it...we have to be active in doing something about it.
Nigel Naughton it’s called the second amendment. Corporations can try and use corporate jargon to justify and take it but we have the right to deny their tyranny through defending our land with the second amendment.
Who on earth is "we?"
