You know one of my favorite things about the band is that knowing they will be performing for packed stadiums even now, they go all out to make sure everyone in the audience, nosebleed seats and all, have an amazing experience using screens, pyrotechnics, lights, whatever. It’s amazing that you can attend a 40K plus audience or more and everyone feels like we’re all together. They REALLY do care about their fans. That hasn’t changed from the late 80s (when I was a preteen fan) to today, seeing them at the Rose Bowl. Love that about them.

When I was 16 I became unwell with glandular fever. When it didn't it get better I eventually worked out I had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I wasn't dying and things could have of course been so much worse, but going from a fit active teenager to struggling to get out of bed was hard to deal with. I was healthy looking on the outside but feeling like utter trash, and very quickly worked out not many people could understand that. That year and during a number of slumps since I've wanted to die. And if it wasn't for a supportive loving family that I'd never be able to destroy, I might have. Music helped as well (of course). On the one year anniversary of becoming sick on a complete whim i searched that very word on my ipod nano: "One." Must have had the parents' U2 collection downloaded because this song came up and I listened for the first time. "Is it getting better, or do you feel the same?" hit so fucking hard. Ever since this song has been there for me in any slump, any day it's tough to get out of bed, any time I feel like bloody crying. Almost 10 years later in some ways I do feel the same: I never regained the same energy levels and every now and again overdo it and crash and burn hard. But overall, things have gotten so much better. I've learnt how to look after myself and conversely how I want to look after others. Experiencing a bit of hardship truly does make you stronger when you come out the other side. Sometimes people don't or cant get through that. But a helping hand will always give a better chance. Despite the imperfection of life, there is always hope. Thank you U2 for this beautiful beautiful song. When things are bad, remember what's really important. Always be there for family and friends, for each other. One love

When I was a kid, I got one of those adoption monkeys in Borneo..You paid some each month to it and in return you helped it get returned to the jungle and got sweet pictures and videos once a month.. Mine was naked Zakia and I loved that thing with all my heart, first video we got of it was when they took it in to the center, she was just a little monkey clinging on to her dead mother with all she had in her, it took 4 locals to force her away from the dead mother, and in this video showing them trying to rescue this little monkey this song was playing, and I swear to god I never cried as hard and long as I did there imagining how I would feel losing my mother ( I did lose my mom after a few years though) But still, even to this day this song brings tears to my eyes thinking about little Zakia just clinging to her dead mom while the entire forrest was being removed around her

When I was a kid, I got one of those adoption monkeys in Borneo..You paid some each month to it and in return you helped it get returned to the jungle and got sweet pictures and videos once a month.. Mine was naked Zakia and I loved that thing with all my heart, first video we got of it was when they took it in to the center, she was just a little monkey clinging on to her dead mother with all she had in her, it took 4 locals to force her away from the dead mother, and in this video showing them trying to rescue this little monkey this song was playing, and I swear to god I never cried as hard and long as I did there imagining how I would feel losing my mother ( I did lose my mom after a few years though) But still, even to this day this song brings tears to my eyes thinking about little Zakia just clinging to her dead mom while the entire forrest was being removed around her
