Stilgar - The greatest Hype Man the universe has ever seen
Have you met Erwin Smith from Attack on Titan?
@@NOplayerq cringe
@@aydinbiber7616Nothing more cringe than using the word "cringe" in 2024.
The Onion Knight was pretty good too though
Ummm Aaron Burr introducing LaFayette?!
Javier Bardem is the perfect casting for Stilgar, just wow!
Its crazy how different he looks compared to no country from old men. Hes half decent looking in this and absolutely horrid to look on upon in that. Great variety.
His acting is impeccable in both movies 👏

By Frank Herbert
Perfect - it is too easy to see Stilgar as almost clownish in his hope. You made his faith much more believable and powerful with this. Thank you.
Truth. As someone who calms themselves from the chaos and challenges of the world with faith seeing Stilgar is like being seen, then seeing the fandom treat him is kinda sad. I know Herbert wrote Stilgar as a warning to how faith and religion could be used to manipulate you but faith is also a tool that allows some of us to persist even in the most impossible of odds. I love the movie and I love Stilgar's portrayal cause it feels like seeing the miracles you've believed but feel you'll never lived long enough to see happening before your eyes. It must feel like a Catholic suddenly being transported back in the time of Jesus miracles, seeing them firsthand.
@@yunantheobserver6841 this vid does a good job of showing Stilgar's (and the Fremen's) underlying hope (heavily emphasized in the book) of transforming Dune, and how this gets tied up (with a lot of Bene Geserit help) with their longing for the Mahdi/Lisan al Ghaib.
And Vilneuve is wonderful in not trying to hit you over the head with the underlying faith and hope of his characters - it is there, deep in them, but they don't have to constantly repeat it.
If you're correct in the end you cannot be clownish. Your were actually the only right one. Stilgar proved that. And he'd never put faith in another off worlder before this so its not like he's been blatantly wrong in the past.
@@skillsmachine9164 it is one of the things Villeneuve excells at - he can set up a dilemma (in this case - are the prophecies true or just pious propaganda?) and then let the audience have at it rather than tell us what to think.
Agreed! This is one of my biggest complaints of Dune 2. I still loved it, but felt it lost some seriousness from Dune 1
1:00 "I'm ready to pledge my life for him"
That was a great line. The others were laughing and acting as if this was all a joke, while Stilgar pledges his life. That was quite powerful in the cinema
They were Metropolitan "Northerners" so the deep feelings of Faith are foreign concepts to them... those Fremen lived lives of luxury unlike the Southerners who didn't have the abundance to allow lethargy to settle into them.
I would be the “Choosen one,Lisan al Gaib and Kwisatz Haderach” if I had Stilgar as my hype man.
and Mahdi, don't forget about Mahdi
This edit is a M A S T E R C L A S S !!! Wish you added Stilgar shouting LISAN AL GAIB as he’s boarding the ship at the end!
Yeah he was boss in that scene, as usual.
@@MADGUNSMONSTERguy is an absolute unit. Javier Bardem needs more recognition for this role imo even though he’s recognized more than enough
I respect that one Sardaukar soldier that stood his ground against that Sandworm!
Probably legs too wobbly to run
Half of them probably could not move theyr feet because of the sand shifting/movement caused by the worms
god damn
dune just made its way right behind lord of the rings for me
bravo
it is ahead

Best book adaptation in a LONG time. Best scifi movie in a LONG time.
Think about what would beat it. Maybe Blade Runner, Alien(s), 2001, Back to the Future, The Matrix, Jurassic Park, possibly Interstellar...
Villeneuve's Dune movies are certainly worthy of being listed among these.
It doesn't beat Peter Jackson's LOTR... but even Peter Jackson couldn't live up to LOTR.
@@FalcristI would say these Dune movies are ranked up there with Blade runner OG and 2049 and also LOTR. Will stand the test of time for generations. I watched lotr for the 200th time the other day after I heard our beloved king theoden passed and still after 20 years those movies haven’t aged a day; it’s truly amazing what they did with lotr. Dune will be just like that in 20 years.
@@TiiberiusWAR IMO LOTR is significantly better than Dune.
We're unlikely to ever see a book adaptation that good again.
This is probably the greatest movie ever made
because its based on Moral values of top religious ideology. There is one who will unite believers behind him vs hypocrites and arrogant who control the world for their own benefits only. In other word, human believe in sci fi settings.
it really isn't but it's pretty good. People hype it up way too much. Plenty of other movies have it beat easily
@@Onticly oh no, I don’t know if it‘s the greatest movie ever made, but plenty of other can beat it easily, absolutely not
As a book reader I disagree...........
@@ecod7r Paul is not moral.
They used to be friends, now they are followers.
I feel sad for both Paul and stilgar when watching this wonderful edit😂
The fact that this is a tragedy, that Herbert said “heroes should come with a warning label” and meant for his story to be that label against this kind of faith makes this video haunting. Great work.
It's legitimately heartbreaking to think of Stilgar's story
Every time he said it, I burst out laughing. The casting of Javier Bardem, given his hate for catholicism, is ironic and entertaining!
The BEST Stilgar tribute so far ! congrats ! ! thank you for the tribute to my favorite character
"Stilgar, do we have wormsign?"
"Usul, we have wormsign the likes of which even God has never seen!"
Honestly, the best Dune edit I have ever seen!
one of the best ive seen. well done
Thank you!
@@F4STR.Do you have instttt…?
The way Javier Bardem flutters his eyelids when he speaks of the green paradise, he really convinced you this is a prayer for him.
Hand of god be my witness, I am the voice from the outer world

I am loving the Stilgar edits. Great character!
What a movie 💯
I am an awe of Javier Bardem the more I see his roles.
These Dune 2 edits have been amazing....good work.
Addaam reshii a-zaanta!!!
That was one bloody brilliant edit mate, kudos!!!! 👍 👍
I’m starting to think people might not understand that while Paul might be the protagonist, he is not a hero. This is his fall from grace.
Muad'dib leads the way! Fantastic tribute to Stil!
I love all these videos.
It's like a love letter to an old friend, the books I read in my youth.
Отличная работа!
Спасибо за субтитры
Long way from the shock of No Country for Old Men.
Beautiful.
If nothing else, it shows that Javier Bardem has some *_serious_* range.
That's some damn good tribute edit. Very well done.
NGL I tear up everytime I see the Atreides banner being held high on the back of the worm 😁
Every dune edits by these crazy editors are all hype inducers ,Damn!!!!🔥🔥🔥
Usually hate edits, this is the best one I’ve seen
Great edit. Thank you for sharing this
Im simply in awe at this incredible edit.

Excellent edit - perfect unfolding of the story through the eyes of the most faithful warrior.
Excellent video editing of this masterpiece. It stirred my guts.. Thank you :)
Goosebumps everywhere...this is a masterpiece!

The music in this track goes beautifully with this video. Well done.
Perfect edit. Just perfect.
Amazing edit. Nicely done!
Amazing edit
Stilgar was my favorite character.
best one so far. thanks for the video man its great.
Very well done edit! Kudos to you.
This is one of the most outstanding edits I've had the privilege to watch. I've read Dune, watched all the films and tv series, and you have done a great service to the character of Stilgar and the viewpoint from which he approaches the story. Brilliant work, you just made my day.
I became hyperfixated on Dune after Part 1. I read everything I could get my hands on. I love so many characters, but Stilgar was always a special one to me. Your video did, as someone else said, make his faith & hope so much more understandable & important, while also bringing tears to my eyes & giving me goosebumps. Beautifully, masterfully done, seriously. I'm so glad I got to see this, you brightened my (very) rough day, ty
Love u man this was awsome to watch
THE BEST EDIT
Excellent work
Faith is the power that shapes history. Amazing edit
Man yall are doing a great job honoring this great movie. Oppenheimer was the reflection of where we have been, Dune is the projection of where we are headed.
This is excellent.
Excellent.
my god this is such a great edit. I come back to this video for inspiration.
Impressive edit! 👏
Greatest edit bro.
really good, well done
Very, VERY well edited mate
Javier was amazing as it was Austin, I don’t know if a movie can have two oscar nominations for best supporting actor!!!
Great editing on this one
Nice edit! Looooove the movie.
Dayummmnnnnn
goosebumps..
10/10 edit for 10/10 movie
THE EDITS 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
😳☝️ - Stilgar
goosebumps man
Best Edit!!!
Great work dude!
Thank you!
"Call it. Lisan al-Gaib. Oh. Tails! You got it right. As written."
I think this is the best Dune edit I've seen. And let me tell you my feed is FULL with edits. Huge W bro.
Thanks mate, that means a lot 🙏
Man this movie is so good 😢
amazing edit bro
Aren't you ashamed to use a nazi symbol? I'm pretty sure you're not even white.
WOW
Stilgar ... a man who knows what he believes in.
If you read the books until the Children of Dune, Paul instructed Stilgar to study the past conflicts in humanity's history and he had some character development as he recognized what Paul tried to imply to him (on the matters of Jihad). It makes his character even more intricated by the time. You are not ready to see how this character acted as a comedy relief will bring in the movie when its covered until that part.
Stilgar is such a fascinating character.
Uncle to zealous warrior. Truly a sad tale.
Seeing joy and pure happiness on Stilgars face when Paul steeped into his boots was heartwarming and extremely haunting for me, knowing what has to come.
Such a fantastic actor. I hope that he gets more and more recognized for this talent
2:35 where the music aligns with Paul's speech and the Atreides flag on top of shai-hulud is *chef's kiss*
Absolutely amazing edit. Ngl, I I found myself tearing up. Javier Bardem nailed this character
this shi gave me goosebumps whilst watching it, this has to be the best film ever created
I will always honor one with a faith this strong.
🌹
his faith has blinded him.
Of course, the Mahdi is too humble to say he is the Mahdi!
the lack of music and sounds from the film mixxed in makes it a less powerfull video then the Lisan Al Gaib one. Still a great vid though, you have a gift for making good compilations!
I don’t care what you believe, I believe!
The war will kill billions!
"HYPE!" - Stilgar. (probably)
My favorite part of the entire movie has been Stilgar.
If the 3rd movie is as good as the 1st two, we can finally stop the "LoTR trilogy will never happen again".
