Hexapod robot using Robotis AX-12, RX-10, and RX-28 servo motors. The controller is a Fit-PC2 computer running Ubuntu 9.04. The Fit-PC2 has an Intel Atom z530 1.6GHz processor. A custom PIC18F4550 based USB interface board was built to pipe motor control protocol.
The gray plastic was designed in Solidworks, and was created using a Dimension BST 1200es 3D printer.
Inverse kinematics is used with a dynamic walking gait. The dynamics still need work to be smoother and faster. The legs are not calibrated perfectly either, which can be seen when a foot occasionally lifts up.
Currently the robot has foot contact sensors which will be used in the future for terrain adaptation. Three AX-12 motors will be used to control a camera with 3DOF. - Наука та технологія
How could you even think of coming up with such a concept in the first place??? Excellent!
Not a problem at all--I really appreciate you getting back to me. I'll definitely give this a shot in the coming weeks. Many thanks for the reference!
and she didnt kill herself this time... great work once again.
I seen you on my newspaper on the UofA..Congrats :)
I'd love to have a hexapod if it's controlled like that. Really good idea there!
Thanks!
Sorry for this much delayed response... Since I have Ubuntu installed, I used QtSixa. Once connected as an HID device I read the raw data ( /dev/hidraw0 typically ). This has acceleration data.
Thanks! I am a senior in electrical engineering, I graduate in May.
The music fits perfectly to the video :)
I started in February this year, but I had different goals in mind at that time which were unrelated to what you see. Overall, I would say that it took four months total to build from scratch.
I did all the work myself, from the mechanical design to the electronics to the software. I am still working on it to improve control and to make it more intelligent (adding vision).
Anyone can do it, as long as they have determination! :)
Wow, surprisingly short time span in which you build this robot, I might take a shot at it someday too.
Fiquei impressionado com seu trabalho hein rapaz Você é fera hein
they have achieved what sony could not with the six axis
Крутой РОБОТ !
I love how you accomplished this using a playstation controller!
Nice job!
its awesome ! welldone!
Heh, I like how when you hit the PS button the bot shudders and slowly falls to the ground like its dying :)
i just want to say,you are ready to fly dude ;)
oh my god this is amazing
Its alive !!
amazing dude!!
That's fantastic! Looks scary to me, I hate spiders and this robot would be a real nightmare if it moved a little bit quicker. Anyway, you've done a great job, hope to see some upgrades or maybe a new type in the future.
Very cool, are there any papers describing how you generate your movements? Also does the IK software assume a flat plane where gravity is straight down?
Nice. Check out Odbot's Hexpod with two independently moving eyes. (Essentially a Decapod)
WOW!!! THIS IS A TOY FOR ALL LIFETIME)))
Well done :)
very very nice
its alive! ALIVE!!!!!!
Nice job!! I have to ask, though: how are you getting the accelerometer data off of the ps3 controller. I've used the SDL library in C++ to interpret the controller as a HID ..device, but I don't remember being able to grab the accel data.
Wonderful project!
Most realistic robot game in the world! :D
That is ridiculously amazing! What's the next step? Are going going to try to make it move faster? Make it fully wireless?
to je jaki mazesc ten clovek je genius
agood afternoon could tell me which board you use to use the command of the PS3 to control the hexapod
Coooool dude
nice Work :D
I THOUGHT X WAS JUMP BUT STILL ITS AMAZING...
It is mostly wobbly due to the tibias being really flexible. In the next version I have upgraded the femurs and tibias, and so far it is performing much better.
Hopefully I'll get a vid of it up soon.
What language are you using for the hexapod?
Awesome!!!
What did you study ? ...
Mechanical Engineering ?
Robotics ?
@blegas78 that's awesome :D how much did the whole thing cost? (without the ps3 controller)
You should power it with an onboard rc 11.1v lipo batteries
what soundtrack is that?
is the the cpu/controller a fit pc
amazing. O.O
@blegas78 if you don't mind. How hard was it?I like everything about electronics but I'm not strong in math and can't decide.
Some sort of SSH client. I forget the specific name, but there are a few available in the app store.
First step to make those mechanical solders in Metal Gear Solid lol
What kind of app were you using??
WOW!!!!
IT'S ALIIIVE
Can u recommend me a good online shop where i can buy the servos? , i cant find 1 servo motors shop here (Latin America, panama)
muito muito fix!!!
como construir um desses ai?
ou quanto custa?
cool
O_O Very nice...
how to program?
that is fucking amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Woooooooooow but the music? Eh
Where can I get 1 of those?
can make it wireless ?
great job. What's the music? That's cool too :o)
you sell it how mush
WOW :D
wow man,great job!
u can use ps3 tecnology in your creations?
will be really awesome :D
nice job!
It Only Does Everything.
@dudeMFman no xbox controller has no sixaxis only for ps3
nerds rock!

Линукс на телефоне! Обалдеть!
Танец живота делать умеет?
Skynet Project ................... 20% Complete
please make a tutorial , i have a hexapod with ssc-32, raspberry pi, bud need a software, to control it with a ps3 controler
Can you please send me one???
it shoots spider webs with R1
That's the problem now days you build bigger robots you need more power...
reminds me of ff8
I think he log into via telnet
power it with a laptop battery instead of the charger
This would be nothing without software...
Wowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowow Good Video
But First I NEed a PS3 xD
dear Santa...........
odd, it looks really frail
man, did you just put the PS3 in the middle?
How much? xD
take a look here for a quick video of the new legs:
twitvid(dot)com/96150
Is the new Ps4!
awh, it looks afraid.. :(
@blegas78 ameen!!!!!bro love from pak!!!!
Why can´t we learn to do that in regular school instead of maths :'(
any chance you would be interested in selling some of these? I work at Intel in the embedded division and we make the processor/chipset in the fit-pc2, and this is a great embedded demo..
dm me on twitter @intel_stewart
lots of reverse engineering and API mapping work to do
sanat's official secertary
Hi Tyler, Santa's is busy Bitch!!!! lol just joking
sorry buddy but you do not control the toy and the remote!
Now just attach an airsoft gun and a button to fire it, there you go.
This joke already got old in, like what, 80s?
Thought that said
“Sexist controlling hexpod”
X for Rockets hahahahaha
LOL
PS4 :D
SHUTUPANDTAKEMYMONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
