Robot: *dribbles ball violently*
Guy: "We call it dynamic holding"
Airblader That actually hurt. Tossing em that fast.
@obsidianorchids If you can't spot the joke, I believe you just contributed to the negative trend. Intelligent people can still appreciate jokes. If you can't, I feel sorry for you.
@@Airblader holy shit you guys are fucking slow. The first guy assumed their definition for dribbiling dynamic movement however dynamic movement refers to the movement type. It wasnt that he didnt understand the joke but that you guys dont understand what theyre talking about. Get a life
He was talking about the feedback loop between the state of the held object and how the robot handles it

This was ten years ago. Imagine the technology today.
It's the same, just better refined and adapted for efficent uses.
This is already being used in power armor
@zztop3000 what is your phone?
Is it always just a cheese pizza?
Sarah Connor killed them all and burned all this stuff.
We're safe, for now...
Imagine these robots performing a surgery so fast, the patient doesn’t even lose a single drop of blood and the surgery is finished.
The true power of the world
I know this is a joke, but as a real doctor and having attended many surgeries, there are some processes that time is necessary and a lengthy check is more important to avoid bleeding after surgery than being fast during the surgery. (Not to mention that this would be pretty dangerous as human tissue can be very weak sometimes). It would be very fun to watch though, and probably this can help to develop better robotics for surgery (robotic surgery is pretty common nowadays in some situations)
@@ronwesilen4536 thanks for the important insight. Love the random facts you can come across on the internet

Yes, it’s 11-years old. Regardless, I want to say this is absolutely incredible, and YT should be embarrassed to recommend it to me only now, even though I’ve watched numerous robot videos over the years. I hope to read up more about what became of this. Wonderful work!

Quiet human, we have not evolved for your biological desires.
I remember this from way back.
And it's still as awesome as I remember it.
Christ, this looks amazing. Probably the first example I've ever seen of a robot at least matching a human's ability, never mind surpassing it.
I wonder how far they've come since this video was made. It's been over a year.
Wow, 10 years. This is practically ancient now yet it still looks bloody impressive. Remind me why we don’t have fully robotic hands now again.
It's not the speed that's the issue; it's the dexterity and gracility. Robot hands are still not quite as graceful as human hands when it comes to micro and macromovements.
@@Yuli_Ban ?? Its picking up rice faster and with more precision that most humans. The ability to tie knots faster than than a person can blink isnt dexterity and "gracility"? LOL, ok.
@@Yuli_Ban see, if you had watched the video you would know thats not the issue
