Zenta I was in your website(Blog)... And don't see more about this awesome projects... I really need see more about it... is the most epic thing i ever seen! (Sorry for my bad english). Congratulations!
@@ZentaRobotics googles gemini ai brought me here in talking about the exact same thing.. lmao put a turret on it and you have a terrifying military project also. what is the high frequency noise in the background?
This is amazing work and I can totally see this rolling around the surface of Mars. Especially if the "petals" were solar panels. If you added a small camera that revolved around the "equator" at the same speed that it rolled, the robot would be able to see where it is going.
Truly amazing! Thanks for sharing it with those of us who could NEVER come up with something like this on our own AND inspiring those who will build upon your ideas.
Zenta, if you are listening seven years later, this showed up on my youtube home.... I'm madly enthralled with all things robotic after 20 years in standard run of the mill IT (yawn) and as such, have been learning all I can about the field while feeling my way around in where I'd like to specialize. The MorpHex, amazing, simply amazing. Now I havae to find out, what you've been up to these last seven years. As below stated by Fracois Provost, lol, That's some serious half-life/portal stuff right there. I stand, in awe.
Wow. This robot could be a bliss in disaster-areas. I can see this little bugger climb through the rubble of a huge building looking for survivors. So cool, and multi-mobility. Great work!
About the technical: Excellent and very imaginative engineering and handcraft, full of so many innovative ideas ! Sir, you have my deepest congratulations and respect ! About the video: It was such a good idea to include the kid in the video. Not only it gives us a sense of scale, but also it reminds us that this ..."thing" was made by a human, and not sent to us by a nasty alien ! Congratulations one more time, your work is really impressive.
I love the way it switches back to walking mode after spending some time as a ball. Never mind DARPA, a future generation of extraterrestrial exploration robots could well get around that way.
I am a 3d animator, which is a discipline of art, and one of the 12 principles of animation we must learn is... (this is real) ...Charm. I see other robots doing impressive feats, but the robots themselves lack Charm. The Hexapod on the other hand is almost nothing but charm. It's as gorgeous as it is technically impressive, and the fact that it has lots of charm makes me believe that (if pursued) it will go further as a commercial product than many other more advanced robots. How the hexapod can include more advanced features for usability is an interesting topic. It would be nice to give it a face for it to communicate, much like the robot in the movie "Ron’s Gone Wrong". Apart from being absolutely adorable, what can a future version of this robot be used for?
If this is not already open-sourced, I'm making it open-source. I've been trying to construct a spherical hexapod similar to this for a few months, as part of a hobby project. This variation appears to solve some of the remaining issues I have with mine, so it is heaven-sent for reverse engineering. But I don't honestly believe Zenta would close-source his, as the actual design is quite intuitive and would be brilliant as a DIY kit for students. I'll keep you posted when I finish the prototype.
I am absolutely in love with it, but it also looks like a science fiction war machine, and when it blooms, it looks like it's preparing to fire a giant laser
I absolutely love the fact it realizes what it needs to do to accomplish proper movement, unless it is controlled and not using some form of ai or programming as I have been led to believe. Voltorb for the end of the world!
It could be used for wars because that sound could be a high pitch sonar for movement and as a weapon that could either drive your enemies to insanity or literally make their head explode
Amazing. Imagine if these things were common place. That could have a camera on it, and act as a mobile security device, or (assuming someone manages it) it could have a hologram projector, and could act as a moving displace piece... Or it could have a bomb.
I feel this has more of a therapy type role rather than military, I can't imagine kids not loving it, the way it can fold up into a sphere is rather cute, I can't imagine why this hasn't been picked up for a toy really...
+Joseph Neilson If you had a clue as to the manufacturing and parts cost on this, you would.. Ask the guy how much he has into it.. Unless you mean adult toys, then yeah $2000 (if not more) could be doable for a "toy".
This is one of the most elegant pieces of engineering I've ever seen!
Reminded me a lot of Star Wars droids, especially Droïdekas when it rolls!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked my project!

I wish this was available to buy. It’s one of the cleverest designs for a mobile robot. It’s also elegant looking.

Yes it true
you should see the one with the turret voice

i love how each of your creations has slowly evovled over time. You can see how ideas have passed on from each "generation" to the next.
I can easily imagine this design on missions to Mars and the Moon. Awesome stuff.

Not long til someone sticks some guns on it and ships it off to fight the Jedi.

such a cute little guy! I cant imagine all the work that went into creating something like that
Finally a way to make soccer truly popular in the United States.
FOOTBAAAALLLL!
All that’s left is to add a a gun that extends out
This is by far the coolest robot that somebody built by himself! I am truly impressed!

Probably the most awesome little guy I've ever seen.
Wahnsinn was Sie da auf die Beine gestellt haben ein Hammer Roboter! Respekt
I know that what's being showcased here is the mobility, but all I can think of are ways to hide weapons in it.
Reminds me of the big robot in Incredibles that rolls into a ball.
the controlled rolling is very very impressive
I know its ten years but this is one of the most beaeutiful things i've ever seen!

0:14 wow, it teleports. That's what I call advanced
That's probably one of the coolest things I've seen.
Dude this is legendary.
What about rubberizing the plastic shell? It would give it more traction when rolling around as well reduce the plastic noise.
*sees morphex stands with opening its top row* is it sending signals to its home planet?

"WHO THE FUCK OPENED THE GATE TO THE OUTSIDE WORLD!?? YOU KNOW WE SELL TURRETS THAT CAN WALK!!"
Lots of ringing in the servos, may be tuning the controller would help to get it out of the ringing zone?
Wow, that must've been hell to program all of those servo movments and walk cycles
Please upload a video explaining how it works, how you made it. This is insanely cool!!
Amazing, truly a work of art and engineering. Question though, can it walk on both sides?
You cant imagine how much I love this little sphere guy :333
Image this but way bigger and made of metal. Rolling over your enimies and stuff
THIS IS NOT THE DROID YOUR LOOKING FOR!
ZENTA! soy de México. me gustaria tener uno y en cuanto vendes, no se si tengas en venta o sea prototipo. saludos me encanto el Robot Bola.
Should consider covering the outer shell with a rubber latex coat so it won't make that scratchy sound while its rolling around. Very cool design.
This robot is so adorable!
Could you provide any info on how you made the incredible machine>? It's a trully unique design
1:08 I was hoping it was gonna do that! It looked so satisfying!
Also its strong!
Finally! They're building Droidekas, I've been waiting for this!
Very nice Zenta, as always..!
Nicely done!
By the way, I am praying on the day we get quieter servos.
Veldig stilig! Ser virkelig ut som noe fra en annen verden.
Finally uploaded something new...
Still looks great.
This would be perfect for if they ever make portal 3
Jokes aside this is the best idea for a robot, it can always get up no matter its position. Also has good mobility
Very cool tech, and so compact.
I'm curious why you didn't use identical hemispheres
Check the servo's control frequency, that could solve the problem of the noise.
Looks great as always!
Hi,
I was wondering if you could place a mechanical gyroscope in this robot to help with stability whilst rolling?
The best cereal bowl ever! Includes a Peeeeeeep to know when it s time to breakfast. Awesome.

where is the power source?and how much it supplys?
I'm using a 5000 mAh 2S LiPo battery. It's placed inside the robot, under the inner body.
Holy crap it is like a Droideka from Star Wars!
I am absolutely in love with it, but it also looks like a science fiction war machine, and when it blooms, it looks like it's preparing to fire a giant laser
Your robot: "Humanity, you just wait until I get my forcefield working."
this needs a film
Amazing! Beautiful! What control unit do you use in it? Arduino? Pi?
I absolutely love the fact it realizes what it needs to do to accomplish proper movement, unless it is controlled and not using some form of ai or programming as I have been led to believe. Voltorb for the end of the world!
So what happens if I throw water on it or I unplug the battery?
What happens if you do that to any non waterproof rc vehicle?
What would happen if you stopped eating tacos with your fat ass?
Он такой милый. Дройдеку напомнил.
will this whole thing be purchasable? by that I mean the body of it and the frame?
I have a question, why is this made?
How often do you have to change the shell from being scuffed
This in a really large scale, with a gyro(ball?)-like interior for passengers would be insane!
Maybe coat it with something rubbery for more traction and silent rolling on a hard surface?
Please take a video showing how to do this (I want to do it too)
Absolutely brilliant!!!!
I like the way it walks.
It's... Adorable. It would probably cost a great deal, but where would I buy one?
insane !!! congratulations !!!!
Outstanding! Keep up the innovation!!
If this were the Mars rover it'd never get stuck anywhere. Very cool!!
it make orange juice too?
What can it be used for? I don't have any clue.
I like the idea!
What about climbing?
It could be used for wars because that sound could be a high pitch sonar for movement and as a weapon that could either drive your enemies to insanity or literally make their head explode
Can you please include instruction below
