- Golfer’s elbow will usually heal on its own, but only if you adequately rest your elbow, and take the appropriate measures. If you don’t rest your elbow, then your golfer's elbow is likely to persist for quite some time.

I have severe pain in both elbows. I do construction work and it all very painful. However I also am in severe pain doing daily activities such as showering, pouring a glass of tea or even as simple as eating dinner. I've had at least 6 injections over the last year, I do get relief on most attempts but this last one has made the pain go into overdrive. I am traditionally a person who deals with pain without much problem but this is getting extreme. Im getting close to just letting someone chop off both arms.. Sorry for the long tongue and thanks for taking your valuable time to read
Hey Danny, I've had Golfer's since 2016. It healed once, at which point of course I got hubris and tore it up again. Now it's... almost healed, but not really. If you don't fix it now, you'll effectively be an amputee. Please invest in your future. See a physio and do what they tell you.
Mine was due to weightlifting specifically squatting and Pull-Ups.
After a lot of pain and suffering figured out my main issue was not knowing how to properly load my lats putting the strain on the forearm causing the elbow pain.
So learning to properly load the lats and stretch them properly and prime with proper warm up is definitely helping.
Thanks for posting. Very helpful.
I have pain in the medial epicondyle from past 4 months. I did not take it seriously initially and pain got worse. I am undergoing physiotherapy from a month and been doing lot of icing. It hurts when three movements combine - elbow extension, wrist extension and radio-ulnar supination. The pain is less after few hours of icing but it’s not getting better. If I don’t ice it for a day, the pain is back to pre therapy level. Should I consult an orthopaedic? Should I consider surgery if suggested?
HI! Thanks for info...I was given a injection for Golfers the other day and ever since, it's been worse!😢 Alaet from having absolutely more pain, I literally feel as if someone is pulling on my arm hairs all darn day. I'm freaking out a little and not sire what to do. The Dr. That did the injection just tell me to ice n relax it but it's very uncomfortable. Have you heard this happen before n will it go away?😔
I’m a baker. I’ve had it for 3 years. I’ve had bracing. Nothing seems to work. What should I do?
I'm about to have surgery on my elbow as it hasn't healed for over 3 years now. I just hope it gets it sorted.
Left elbow fracture medial epicondyle medial collateral ligament when playing wrestling fracture so pls tell operation necessary or not 3 years old fracture waiting for your reply sir..
hi i have golfer elbow and it is not get any better and i consider steroids injection. this injection could realy remove the pain and let me back to training after short time ?? i am realy frustrated from my condition want to get back fast to lifting workouts
How can an powerlifter/athlete get back to training if they have this?
Also, can it ever cause a crepitus/grinding/catching noise? Ive had xrays and mris which were normal but have both pain in the flexor tendons of the elbow and crepitus when extending or flexing the elbow in certain ranges of motion. Like pulling or pressing.
I’m a drummer and I have it pretty bad. Both golfers and tennis elbow, but I started to get it playing baseball back in the day. Will applying pressure directly to the muscles help take the load off the tendons by stretching them?@?
how are u now? did it heal? any tips?
I am suffering from Flexor Carpi Ulnaris tendonitis in the elbow....been a long time still not getting healed completely ....plz share some tips and exercises or any way to heal it ....Thanku
How much strength is loss if the surgery is done?
Usually the loss of strength is negligible, save for the muscle atrophy you might get Chuck
What are your thoughts on a PRP injection for chronic golfer's elbow?
May be worth a try, but I would try cortisone first as it is much less expensive
Don’t go for cortisone injection , go directly for prp as it cures the condition
I tried 2 rounds of PRP and it didnt really seem to help much. Cortisone helped for a short period of time but now its just stuck, not getting better, not getting worse. Feels like the tissue is just permanently weakened and unable to handle too much loading. I got this hitting the gym rather hard about 6 years ago after years of being rather inactive. Machine rows, barbell curls and all that was too much for me.
Very nice 👌
Shockwave therapy works I heard
How long usually does it take to heal from this condition?
Sometimes it can take up to 6 months or longer. It can linger.
@@orthopedics but how soon can it be? Like weeks to months
..
@@maxbrand2939 You are probably looking at at least 6 weeks
@@orthopedics for me it’s been a year and one month and I still have pain just when I force the movement with force but not normally, I never got any inflammation and I have been resting since then.
Took me having a shoulder surgery and my arm placed in a cast to heal this! It forced complete disuse of my arm. I was good for about 5 years after that and now it’s back. I think pull ups has done it to me.
Resting does not help if this is chronic
Didn't answer at all how to fix it.
That’s because he’s a doctor…they need you to come in the office to fatten that wallet up.
Well that's depressing, basically nothing can be done is what I got from this.
I have had golfers elbow pain for the last 18 months. Even after resting it for a month it is not better. Maybe a doctor must cut off my arm.
I have this asw
Thanks for the info.
I have it 1 year now.
It happend it the gym lifting weights.
I have tried everthing.....
exercise,physiotherapy and rest
I won't go away.
Some weeks i don't feel anything.
Some times it comes back.
I realy don't know what the do anymore....
Do you feel a tendon on the inside of your elbow that snaps back and forth with every rep when benching or tricep exercises?
@@xo2308 no just, pain and irritation. But i have found a way to lift again. Just use machines. No dumbbels or rope! And skip biceps exercices, just do some extra back workouts with machines and foucus on your biceps. Dont forget to warm up tour under arms.
Try to stay in the rep range of 15 a 25 reps.
And strech alot e.o.d.
This works perfect for me
@@Michael-xw2se that makes sense. Controlled range of motion. My biggest mistake is not warming up I believe and not enough wrist and fore arm stretches. I will have to do that while I heal. Thanks for the quick reply and feedback!
@@xo2308 I am happy to share my findings with you. Because I know how annoying this can be. Hope you heal fast.
@@Michael-xw2se Same, I have pain 3 or 4 years.
Worst is bench press
With all due respect, This guy has no clue what he's talking about. He offered absolutely no value here. Golfer's elbow I definitely be treated and it can also be avoided through proper potty mechanics. There are so many different exercises and stretches you can do for golfers elbow to help eliminate pain and fix the problem. It's all on UA-cam just not this channel.
This guy is out of his lane. He is not a physical therapist.
Can you please educate me about proper "potty mechanics"?
@@orthopedics Proper potty mechanics allow you to drop the deuce effortlessly.
