I remember all them DMU 117s on the Redditch to Lichfield line. I miss them very much. my favourite trains off ALL time. the line is shit now I hate the electric trains and the wires above. completely wreaked the whole line now. but thanks for this wonderful memory. that's how it SHOULD be today 117s. more videos like this please. once again thankyou
brian jesic my childhood memories are of the 117's and trainspotting with my dad at Barnt Green, Blackwell and Stoke Prior seeing the 37's, 47's and my favourites for the 43 hst 125's as they screamed past. So many dull plastic trains now. Sad that the HST' are so quiet now with the MTU engines but at least it's kept them in service. East Midlands are the only HST's to have a Paxman engine (the brilliant VP185) and they still sound pretty good but you need to go up to Derby to see them.
As of today the class 323s are now using bromsgrove because bromsgrove is now the new terminus of the cross city line and the cross city 323s are excellent because they were much better up and down the lickey incline
Superb. That's when it was a proper railway!

My childhood memories are when I see the class 323s wearing in centro livery until London Midland took over

Not the same is it Brian. Bring back those good old days I say
It was 2006 that I recognise the 47s in the red virgin trains livery
i live just up the road this is how awsome it used to be even passenger trains where interesting loved going to alvechurch and bham on the bubble cars
That tug was underlined in my platform 5 when i got home that day, great memories.
3:40 superb
Today it’s the era of the electric units that are taking over the cross city route and extending to bromsgrove
proper trains!
