How times have changed, now it's just a procession of Voyagers, 170's, 323's and 66's that pass through my local station, I used to sit on that very up platform in the 70's watching Westerns, Peaks, 50's, 37's and many other great locomotives. Oh for those days again 😫
Back in those days the Stourbridge line was used for services between Hereford/Worcester and Birmingham New Street as all trains using that line went into New Street. This section of the line was only used by a shuttle between Worcester and Barnt Green which is why the train is going into the siding.

Chances are that I was on one of those DMUs - travelled Redditch to New St regularly to get to work
Some track maintenance on those crossovers wouldn't go a miss!!
What a fab video
so nice to see class 37s and 47, great video GWR yam yam!
Those four-car class 116 sets must have had a pretty marginal power to weight ratio. I bet they weren't allowed down the Lickey.
The era of freight trains which could be shorter than the locomotive!
why is the class 153 turning back at barnt green it supposed to be keeping going to Birmingham new street

16:49 letting a DMU off the branch and thus delaying the HST?
They still do it today, as I'm a very driver of those HST's 😫
