Thanks for the video. I've been into motorcycles most of my life, I've owned a lot, Thruxton, Harley, CBR, Tiger. But never a lighter weight Dual sport. I've also been into downhill and cross country mountain biking for many years, and have learned pretty good balance. I ordered the CRF Rally about a month ago and I'm looking forward to using this bike on and off-road, dirt roads, some lightweight single track (maybe) I'm 145 and 5'7" I'm hoping this bike will be okay for me, I know it will take a lot of practice, I'm pretty confident, though.

Ryan, It’s a game changer. As a Harley Sportster and BMW GS rider, Its just a different ride like having a different tool! I think with your background you will knock it out the park! 🤙 i think the big thing with riders like us is just controlled dismount. When I’m crawling and standing on pegs and the engine stalls I can plant one foot down and maintain upright even tho my foot on the other side is not planted. Takes some finesse you’ll get it

Yes it’s too tall. The high center of gravity means sharp right hand turns from a stop will be difficult.

  • @charlesludwig9173

I’m 5-11 and this bike is too tall for the street, especially during slow sharp right hand turns from a stop. All of your answers are qualified with “if you do this or if you do that”. Well, of course, that’s treating the problem not fixing it. Now try U-Turns with the bike at slow speed, the center of gravity is just too high for consistent and safe execution.

what about that "CRF300L rattle sound" everybody talking now? do you hear it? I can hear some at around 5K RPMs on steady throttle on my Rally.

Yeah I’ve been wanting to take a closer look at the rattle, I do hear it, maybe we can do a video talking about it!

I put the adjustable lowering link on mine. I'm 5'9 or 5'10. I can't flat foot both feet at stock height. I like moving it down and up.

Great entertainment 😌 I don't get it? Is everyone a Lord Farquhar? My KLX 300r and Yamaha wr 450 have higher seat height and I'm only 175 tall . I don't have any issues with the height. Furthermore from what I have seen lately, the suspension is soft so you're inclined to lower once sitting on the bike. I'm getting a Rally next week and have test ridden one. Really, there wasn't an issue but I liked your channel.

Can you demonstrate that start on a 30 degree hill please.

for the "short people" get on the bike, by RIGHT side when the 'left-side stand it's open' - simply /
The Dual Sport Dirt Bike must be tall !!!! ★★★★★

      Hi @@motormigo3204 !!!!
the CHAT would be a problem for me ... because I don't speak English - so I help with google translate . I can give you some advice and I do it with great pleasure. Do not break the bike and do not hurt yourself in a stupid way ..... enjoy your splendid CRF using your brain and avoid unnecessary risks. I appreciate what you do but don't overdo it / keep a safety margin ALWAYS (50%)

Sorry mate but your well-meaning advice is way too simplistic. If you get on a muddy steep slope any time and end up off the bike for whatever reason, that mounting technique is not going to work for you. I was on a steep muddy slope last weekend where it was almost impossible even to stand up with any confidence. I had droppped the bike and got it back up (with help) and my feet were sliding all over the place in the mud. Attempting such a mount of the bike would have been disastrous! You could hardly walk in the slippery clay mud everything was trying to slide down the slope.

Hahah novice rider giving advice ,hes 5'9" thats not short, riding stock suspension somhis sag is shit as is the suspension. My bikr is1.5" higher again due to up grades. Im 5'7" its to tall for me offroad especially with uneven ground. When i lower it itwill just re7vert to stock height whichbshould be ok.if i was lesss than 5'7" id be lowering we with stiffer suspension.
