WildBlue, 82 Grad here. I think most grad would agree with your comment that it is a place you love and hate at the same time. I have described it as waking up every morning and running a marathon - for four years. Also, we always called the Zoo the Blue Zoo. It seems terms change with time. Good luck and just put one foot in front of the other. Fast, Neat , Average...
Nonstop studying 100%. Btw what AFSC are you going for!?! You would make a kick ass fighter pilot. I'm shipping January 29th. Going to be a crew chief! Would love to service a plane for you.
What if you just want to come here for the college experience and great engineering school. As well as the free price. I love the whole military work but I don’t see it as my long term occupation... my dream job is something related with mechanical engineering... thoughts?
Hey Wildblue First I have to say very proud of you. I have been following since you went to boot camp for the Air Force. I was wondering what year are you in at the Academy and do you plan on staying in for 20 years since you have gone this far. I wanted to stay in the Navy but was in a relationship and she wanted me to come home. Lol. Good luck and enjoy ur break Merry Christmas
If you've just completed your first year at a college. Is it too late to apply for an academy? I finished Freshmen year with a 3.9 and I'm a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honors society.
I believe you mentioned that you have an Associates Degree. So, do you have to do four full years at USAFA, or are you only there for two years? If you are required to be there for four full years, will you graduate with a Masters degree?
Heyy, this is super random, but are you near Oklahoma City by any chance? haha, because you came up on Tinder within my area, so if not, someone is definitely using your pictures 😂
How do I get citizenship through the air force? my recruiter told me to go to a personnel building when I get to my first base and fill out some forms. can u help me? thanks i love your vids!!
As an applicant coming out of high school, I can tell you that athletics play a huge role in your application. In fact, USAFA says that they use a 60/20/20 scale for applicants. (60% academics, 20% athletics, and 20% community involvement/extracurricular)
I enlisted for the Air Force reserves. Can i still apply for the Air Force academy? And if accepted, will i still be enlisted or will i have to finish my contract first?
Everyone has to get a B.S. It's a highly selective way to commission into the U.S. Air Force. Benefits are graduating from a selective school and having a high chance of getting a pilot slot in the Air Force among numerous other opportunities. You don't have to pay to attend monetarily but you will owe years of service after graduation.
@@luismendezizabal7175 You're welcome. Good luck on your journey. You should consider if you'd like to enter the Air Force as enlisted or an officer first. I'd definitely seek out as much information as you can about both paths. The Academy is the toughest path for those seeking to commission as an officer.
Hunter McKinney thank you for you help again. Ill graduate with my B.A in Aerodynamics. And starting my MBA the day after. At the same time im a Commercial Pilot ( not flying Commercially) and trying to join the Air Force after my MBA. My ultimate goal is to be a tanker pilot for the AF (C-17, C-5, KC-10’s, etc) and im looking whats best for me. Any recommendations?
@@luismendezizabal7175 If that's the case then I HIGHLY suggest you look into the guard and/or reserve. I would advise against going active duty. If you look up local guard units around where you live, you can get selected to fly for that unit and be GUARANTEED the aircraft of your choosing heading into pilot training. Active duty doesn't work this way. Nobody who is active duty knows what they're going to get heading into the pipeline. The Guard folks do. This is a huge benefit and it's only available to those who have sought out a guard unit to sponsor them. It looks like you're on a solid footing. Congrats on your accomplishments so far. I'd definitely look into the guard so you can continue working in the Civilian world while also being an air force pilot. It's the best of both worlds and because you have your commercial rating you'd be a good candidate.

If you haven't already, you should look at the careers you can have after graduation. Also for the other academies too
I have started my application but I get stuck I need some help please.

Hey I have a few question concerning the process of what goes into going from Enlightenment to the academy and I have few more questions as well..

Fruit Loops you can make application again. But your 1 yr of college will not count. You will still have to do 4 yrs at USAFA

Aren’t sports required? What sport do you do?

2 questions did the USAFA honor your associates ? And do you keep prior enlisted pay while attending?
Helpful video!😃
Great video
I'm currently enlisted as an a1c who has been in the air force less than a year. How hard would it be for enlisted to get accepted?

What squadron are you in?
Is it true only 4 degree have to wear blues while traveling.
alydia golson Yes. Only unrecognized freshmen. Recognition happens in mid March so it’s only for thanksgiving and winter breaks
How important are athletics? Are all cadets heavily into athletics and sports?
Most of us are

Wait wait wait... It's FREE?!
Nick Sweetland Yes the government pays for it. You must serve for 4 years after though (any chosen branch). Also on reserve for 10 years.
@@jackbrooks8542 I would say that is well worth it!
Brooo long time lol
Five federal academy.
