    i would love to see a video from you showcasing 'the best' sauropod figures you own, since they are such an underrepresented group in the figure industry. Plus, it would just be nice to see them all together at once.

      My personal opinion - W Dragon giraffatitan and this pnso Alamosaurus are as of today the best mass produced sauropod figures, expensive resin kits included if you go for scientific accuracy. Some of the big expensive statues will have better paintjobs. Overall the very best sauropod figure available is the fiberglass Patagotitan by Ademar Pereia in Brazil. That tone is a masterpiece and a bargain if you can get one.

      Thank you for your comment! The problem I would have is that I have so very many I couldn't even begin to know where to start! But I have always felt deep deep down that there is some kind of compilation sauropod video just begging to be let out! I'll think about it! 😁

    Thank you for your hard work and dedication too your knowledgeable videos! Your channel sure helps us collector’s decide in certain models that we might add into our collections, now, as a sauropod lover, i can’t help but get this model, even if it has what some may consider a disappointing scale. I personally am a bit relieved that its 1:55 (roughly the same size as collectA’s ruyangosaurus) because knowing the wag i display my models i know it would be a bit too large to fit up on the sauropod shelf, the detail, and even coloration is what seems to be very exceptional in sauropod paleobiology and i am very happy with this one! I loved the comparisons with the other sauropods that i myself have in my collection. I would give this model a 8.5 out of 10. Great two videos, keep it up!

      Wow thanks so much for your kind message! Helping people decide, or appreciate what they already have, is one of my key goals with my channel. Especially viewers in the West who have to pay through the nose for one of these Chinese models, I think every bit of informatoin helps! 😁
      I am delighted that there are people who enjoy my other content as many people would probably I just went straight to the model! This was a very enjoyable two videos to make as I am really passionate about sauropods and especially titanosaurs. PNSO doing one is a momentous occasion, though somewhat anticlimactic as I am sure you can imagine!
      The Ruyangosaurus is a fantastic offering from CollectA, and I think that you will be very happy with these two together. They complement each other rather well, and if your shelf doesn't have much clearance, then this would be perfect. Imagine everything fitting on your shelf, with one exception that has to be put apart! With all these together on the same shelf, believe me, it is going to make for one _impressive_ display!

    Haolonggood confirmed theirs will be true 1/35 (74cm along the centrum, for the largest 26m specimen). Frustratingly I'm stuck in the middle ground of 1/40 XD
    If only PNSO's was just a hair bigger! I'll have to wait for more comparisons first 🤣

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  11 місяців тому +1

      I get what you mean! It's amazing to think that many years ago, 1:40 was _the_ standard for me. And not it's a "neither here no there" scale because of so many popular figures in 1:35, and then 1:50+!
      I hope you are right. I have seen the hints from HLG, but I'll believe it when I see the body! 😁

    I loved all the comparisons, but as I said in the first part of the video, it would be amazing to see PNSO Huanghetitan. Because that is the true giant. The more I look at this figure, the more I fall in love with it. And especially, I hope you are doing healthy now. Be safe and look after yourself, my good sir. Wish you well ❤

    A beautiful sculpt and very pleasing paint application, but in a world where other companies are proving that 1:35 sauropods are not only doable, but even practical without being cost prohibitive, this model just doesn't measure up...

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  11 місяців тому +1

      I think we'll have to wait and see. HLG is rumoured to be offering a closer to 1:35. I would be very keen to see how they intend to offer it affordably. Unless PNSO wants to return to hollow vinyl or have their model in three parts like Rebor, I think it's going to be challenging. But never say never! 😁

      Hahahah yes... it's a pity that the _one most amazing thing_ about titanosaurids - the size - couldn't be adequately captured here. But wow... when you look at that _proportions_ of that bauplan captured so wonderfully here... and without the context of other models, you can really forget the scale for a moment! It's beautiful!

    If PNSO had blended the Grey it would have seemed more realistic but it's just my preference. I feel like it's wearing a jacket. I definitely would prefer the 1/35 scale but I guess shipping wise PNSO may not go that way. The Mamenchisaurus was another let down for me. The Argentinosaurus which I got from Lana Time Shop was a sight to behold. I wish PNSO would go for the actual 1/35 scale.

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  11 місяців тому +1

      Which Argentinosaurus was that?
      That aside, as long as PNSO continues with solid figures, I think they won't be doing any 1:35 for the foreseeable future. The way that might happen is if they did another hollow vinyl one like the Huanghetitan, and yet I think that's a direction they want to leave behind.
      I'm actually hoping that if HLG releases larger sauropods, they might help light the way for other companies to follow suit.

    • @Home_of_Dinos
      @Home_of_Dinos 11 місяців тому

      I got the Passion Charger Argentinosaurus from Lana Time Shop and it's a 1/35 scale much more larger then my Giraffatitan. I'll be painting it myself so I can get the right color choice. A truly amazing model just like your patagotitan mayorum. I notice their earlier larger models weren't so appealing. If PNSO does the right scale size it would be truly pleasing because sculpt wise they do a great job. Haolonggood just released their HAOLONGGOOD 1:35 SCALE TLATOLOPHUS GALORUM MODEL but I'm still waiting for a bigger sauropod from them. I heard Musee Studios will be releasing their Sauroposeidon next year which I am waiting for.

  • @Home_of_Dinos

    I think for the scale size this could represent a juvenile instead of an adult and get the actual 1/35 scale version. PNSO didn't do a great colour choice on this Alamosaurus.

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  11 місяців тому +1

      I actually pretty like the colours and pattern, though it _does_ remind me a little of one of my diplodocus models. I believe that there is some leeway for scale interpretation if you are not too fussed, and you would probably enjoy it a whole lot more!

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  11 місяців тому +1

      As I estimate it, the Mamenchi was about 1:45, but yet you could conceivable regard this one as being around there. Certainly it's less of a stretch from 1:55 compared to 1:35! 😭

    I tend to stick to one specific scale, but looking at the figure, it's hard to say I'm not tempted to pick it up nonetheless. It doesn't quite carry the weight of a true 1/35 sauropod but it still towers over other figures to a satisfying degree, even if its mostly thanks to that massive neck.

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  11 місяців тому +1

      That is for sure. It's really beautiful in and of itself, but for a sauropod and especially a _titanosaurid_ there is something really anticlimactic about the size of this impressive beast. 😪

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  11 місяців тому

      It used to be too messy to even described! However I have taken to rotate them in and out of storage. As for massive sauropods, I am giving the entire bookshelf top to sit on. It's still got room for about three more, but I think that after that, that's really all! I may have to give away or sell some. Sad to say! Thank you for your support!

  • @joshbray5016
    @joshbray5016 11 місяців тому +1

    I just wish pnso was VERY strict when it came to scaling their figures. Personally I’d prefer 1:35 & 1:35 exclusively, since that seems to be what they go for most of the time anyway. 1:45 is too close to necessitate it existing I feel, though I could see an argument for there being two, maybe 3 at most, dedicated scales used for the particularly small or large species (for example something like 1:6 for avians, dromeaosaurids, & other critters, and maybe something like 1:65 or 1:72 for sauropods, whales, and all other gargantuan animals) but even then the only reason I’d stomach that is because I imagine that would make the production and consumer costs much more realistic. The most beloved aspect of Alamosaurus is it’s sheer titanic size yet this figure looks comparatively minuscule to what it should be next to pnso’s other offerings. It’s just frustrating I guess and I can’t convince myself to buy it. In all other aspects though it’s such a pretty model :(

    • @joshbray5016
      @joshbray5016 11 місяців тому +1

      well yikes it looks like UA-cam assumed I meant timestamps when I typed the scales and highlighted it all weird. just ignore that there wasn’t any particular point in the video I meant to comment on. Whole video was good. wonderful production quality as usual lol

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  11 місяців тому +1

      Haha yes that is a quirk of YT. It interprets all numbers as timestamps but it's all good since most of us will read the message and not click on them.
      For a titanosaur lover whose biggest attraction of these marvellous beasts is the immense size, I too would like them to be 1:35. I was very disappointed with this 1:55 scale to be honest. I would have accepted the 1:45 PNSO previously gave its largest animals because then we could fully appreciate just how immense this animal was.
      Titanosaur = titanic size. That for me is how I think of it. Having this at such a small size really is an anticlimax, but that's unfortunate especially when you contrast it to how good this is and what it might have been.
      Hopefully HLG will give us something in 1:35 for a titanosaur!

  • @HSPGelton2
    @HSPGelton2 11 місяців тому +1

    Okay, seeing the size comparisons has decided it for me. I'll give this beautiful one a miss, unfortunately.
    I can't understand why companies (not just PNSO) miss this selling point: the majority of collectors collect at 1:35 scale, surely marketing their releases at 1:35 would garner more business? Am I missing something obvious, lol?

    • @HSPGelton2
      @HSPGelton2 11 місяців тому

      duh, sorry about the timestamp!

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  11 місяців тому +1

      Ah, the thing is, you have to understand where the majority volume of sales comes from.
      And as much as we of course think of our niche as being full of people, the fact is that compared to the actual bulk, which means the lay public, casual enthusiasts, and exasperated parents, it is actually very little.
      So I every much suspect that if even if _all_ of us would want a 1:35 (and many viewers have told me they don't), and be willing to pay for it , shipping and all (and many viewers have told me they won't), the price it would have to go for may no longer appeal to these other huge groups and PNSO loses their business. So PNSO probably has to make a decision on this.
      My real question is, how does _HLG_ do it? If there is a way to make a 1:35 titanosaur affordable, my money is on them to come up with it! Let's wait to see their sauropod releases next year!

Because I grew up with Carnegie and got used to "1:40" I assumed that that was the ideal size for scientific collectors and in fact when Carnegies started to abandon 1:40 I stopped buying their models for a long time.
