As the news was breaking that President Kennedy had been shot in Dallas, TV 8 reporters went downtown to get reaction from stunned San Diegans. In the first group of interviews conducted by Jim Price, the news was that he was shot and not yet declared dead. Price and others listen to the news on a car radio. A man said he hoped it wasn’t as serious as it sounded. Seeing it in real time as the tragedy was unfolding is still chilling and surreal 60 years later.

      I'll prove it:
      a) All bullets and fragments ever found were matched to Oswald's rifle.
      b) Victims' reactions in Zapruder's film clearly demonstrate they are hit by the same bullet.
      c) Bullet recovered from the stretcher was also matched to Oswald's rifle.
      d) That bullet is badly crushed at the nose and flattened down one side, consistent with going through Kennedy without hitting bone, slowing and tumbling on leaving him, then broadsiding its way through Connally's ribs, as medical and forensic evidence clearly demonstrate.
      e) Kennedy is very clearly seen to suffer a massive exit wound exploding at the right temple, consistent only with a shot from behind.
      f) Connally's said the shots came from behind.
      g) Autopsy shows the shots came from behind.
      h) Parkland doctors examined the autopsy photos on NOVA in 1988 and had no particular problem with them
      i) Witnesses directly under the sixth floor window firmly said the shots all came from directly over their heads.
      j) Those witnesses had a clear view behind the knoll fence and would plainly have seen any gunman there.
      k) Zapruder's secretary was only yards away from the fence and saw and heard nobody there.

9/11 attacks by far but those 2 events mid-20th cent weigh much in my thinking - those moments came to my mind in hearing about Shinzo Abe, Paul Pelosi & the Maui wildfires in the past yr or so, another thing about Pearl - I think of it during sports viewing if 1 team ambushes another early in a game/match
