  • The Sixth Floor Museum presented a special program to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of President Kennedy’s death. Associate Curator Stephen Fagin showcased rarely seen films, photographs and new oral history recordings from the collection and discussed how these acquisitions help the Museum continue to build a more complete story of that fateful day. Audience members were also invited to share their memories.
This presentation took place at the Museum on November 22, 2015. I am always annoyed by Associate Curator Stephen Fagin's almost celebratory demeanor in every one of these 6th Floor Museum videos. It's like he is conducting a High School reunion instead of one of the most devastating moments in American history.

When the TSBD became the Sixth Floor Museum, the "Escape" route from the "Shooter's" window was removed. You cannot walk down the back stairway because it's no longer there. So an imaginary shooter goes down an imaginary stairway which conflicts with the testimony of the 2 men coming UP the stairway: Patrolman Marrion Baker and the building Manager Roy Truly.
So what's the right thing to do to create a Museum? Make it impossible to re-enact the crime at the scene of the crime. I have NO CONSPIRACY THEORY. I have a THOROUGH CORRUPTION THEORY.

Was there a back stairway that employees used?? I've never heard of it before, though I wondered about the possibility of egress off the 6th floor other than by the big main staircase or elevators. Did this staircase go from 1st floor to 7th floor?? Is it chronicled in books about TSBD in 1963??

My father was working in downtown Dallas that day. He was in the Mobil Building (red horse). I was approaching my 6th birthday and lived in Arlington. My mother watched on tv and cried. I didn't remember much then. Years later in 2001 I visited my father for the last time. He passed in 2002. I drove to Dallas to walk around Dealey Plaza. Had never been there in person before. I missed seeing the museum then. It was still a strange experience. It made me sad.

Very interesting stories, JFK was murdered that day, and not by a "solitary lone wolf"
This country has a very dark and sinister force that has been working behind the scenes for a long time. I think that force is stronger now and is growing in intensity and visibility daily.

My dad was teaching geography at Scituate Jr. High School in Massachusetts on November 22, 1963. His class was interrupted by an announcement stating that the president had been shot while riding in a motorcade in Dallas. Moments later word came by a student at the door that the president had died from his wounds. 50 years later my dad who retired in 1994 after 38 years of teaching was a substitute teacher in the same school. On November 22, 2013 he was assigned to the same classroom! A complete coincidence?

I've always thought one of the most overlooked items for consideration is to find out WHY Kennedy felt it was so necessary to have the bubble top down, get close to people, have his secret service further back than normal. Was someone in his ear the whole time telling him that he needed to "appear" this way to the people of Dallas, or was it Kennedy who initiated this approach himself? I think if you found it was "encouraged" from his staff/advisors you'd find something to work with.

Kennedy's ss bodyguard (Kellerman) was in the limo with him. Between the first shot, heard by everyone, and the fatal shot, 6 seconds went by. Kellerman didn't move from his seat the entire time. This fact, along with the incident at the airport shortly before that, was/is clearly reasonable justification for a genuine investigation of the Secret Service's role in this.

I was four years from being born in 1963, but the assassination of president Kennedy, as one of the darkest historical events, is absolute most interesting to me. The further I go into it, the more obvious the conspiracy gets. However, when you are convinced it's always easy to add any new factor to your conclusion, and I basically try to keep the factors that aren't truly evident out. Like the Umbrella Man, who most likely was an individual protesting with appearing like Neville Chamberlain, this due to Joe Kennedy's subduing of Hitler pre to WW2. One of the most staggering and scary photographs is from Airforce One, so shortly after the assassination that Jackie Kennedy still wears her pink dress, full of her husband's blood and brain tissue, but where Lyndon B. Johnson, when the presidential oath is secured, quickly and with what appears like a grin turns to his good friend, congressman Albert Thomas, who winks back with an evil look. This picture says just as much as the Zapruder film.

We do not know everything,“ Meslay says. Why, for instance, were Lyndon and Lady Bird Johnson given the more luxurious Will Rogers Suite, which, according to Walker, also had a small temporary display of Western art? “Hotel Texas” will attempt to reveal the story of the installation, with photographs, videos, and other archival material-including Day’s photos of the artworks in situ just after the First Couple had left. He surmised from shaving cream and a few drops of makeup that J.F.K. and Jackie had switched bedrooms.

In the 6th grade on Long Island, my teacher told us that President Kennedy had been shot. News reports came to us over the intercom. We eventually did our usual Friday afternoon routine. Giving book reports. I gave mine on a book I chose a week earlier: The Day Lincoln Was Shot (Jim Bishop).
I have a UPI picture of JFK, LBJ, Jackie and Lady Bird taken at the Fort Worth Breakfast. Jackie shown beaming at the audience, having just entered. The back caption refers to President Kennedy just that way -- President Kennedy. No mention of any shooting. Which might have been one of the last to be sent out before the assassination. I have not seen it published.

It's seems kind of morbid to have a museum and various sites in Dealey Plaza set aside as tourist attractions to commemorate the killing of a President. Oh, Well, I suppose the city of Dallas has made a lot of money from tourists who visited these sites over the years.
