  • I mentioned in my bashing video with the Arrma Notorious, that I thought the truck would perform better with some different weight oils in the diffs. I decided to make a video covering the steps it takes to change the fluid in these 1/8th scale Arrma Diffs for anyone wanting to do this as well.
    Hope You Enjoy the Video!!

    Also a good thin to do is if you repair diffs or replace, keep all good parts and eventually you will have a complete backup diff made from the good parts of others or use the spare parts in present diff if worn and need replacing. Especially the diff pins that hold the cup for the dogbone in the diff as the do like to break. When a part goes out or breaks, keep all that is good left from the item. Ittl save money when you really need it or keep you from cutting a session short.

    I just did my Armma Notorious 6s. My center differential melted the housing. Guess it must of gotten pretty warm in there. Overall took sometime since it was my my first time. Used 100k on the center differential. Works and runs nice now. Thanks for the video. Next up LOSI repair😃

    I know this is an old video, but in Arrma 6s vehicles just remember when taking the diffs out, if looking at the rear, the gear is on the left, when look at front diff it also has the gear on the left. Unless you build from a slider from someone else and add electronics and transmitter. It ran great till a Cadillac aimed at it and ran over it by a curb. Saving grace was her front and rear tire ran over the Typhon from tower to tower and the space between the shock towers kept her tire off all electronics. 😳 I took it all apart to check everything. Had to straighten front shock tower, straighten a lower hinge pin and replace broken screw with tons of spares I keep Incase. Not 1 cent spent on repair. But I did check the front diff and cleaned it up and replaced it. Mind you I have work on several Arrma 6s vehicles and know how they're built. So took it out and a soon as I hit the throttle I stayed in one spot with wheels spinning in opposite direction. I knew I put it in correctly as I know how they go and always keep manual beside me Incase. Obviously when I bought it as a slider the previous owner had the diffs in facing right. So as long as you put them the same direction even if in backwards all I had to do was reverse the motor spin and it ran great. Did however correct everything the next time I did an inspection and diff work. I laughed my ass off in bewilderment watching it sit and try to move sideways. 🤣🤣🤣

    First I really enjoy your videos. I bought one of these trucks and at first, I didn’t know they came with 100 K in the center, and 30 K in the front ,back. I took it out of box ran the truck down the dirt road, and the center disc exploded. I paid around $600. I enjoy my Arrma trucks but it’s no way Arrma knew this would work. I installed 60k front and 30k 5:27 back and 500k center. 5:27
    Thanks

      Thank you so much! The trucks definitely perform a bit better with some heavier weight fluid in the front and rear diffs. Adding thicker in the center I felt helped me feel like I wasn't losing any power. Good luck!

    Great video sir, I'm considering tackling my Arrma Outcast 6s diffs which are identical to your Notorious so this was a great help and motivation for me to "Get wrenching" on mine. I was feeling a little intimidated about starting this job until I saw your video and now I feel ready to go. Just wondered if you have any video of this vehicle running since the diff fluid change or any update on your feeling with the new diff fluid - any changes you would make to the fluid you chose? I would like to try 500k centre, 50k front and 20k rear but find the brand of oil at my regular shop only goes up to 300k. I'm not sure if I should go with 300k or order elsewhere to get 500k while I'm doing this job. Thanks again.

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  2 роки тому +2

      I'm not sure if the diff would be broken. Maybe the oil is worn and needs to be replaced. Try holding one wheel while trying to spin the opposite one, it should spin but if it spins too easily you may need to replace the diff fluid. Do that for front and rear. The center is so easy to pull out, I'd probably just remove it to check, but you could do the same thing by locking the front or rear wheels in place and try spinning the opposite ones. Hope this helps
