I'm having issues sealing the diff. I tried sanding the top cup. It keeps leaking even when new gasket. Now I just sealed it with rtv silicone and it seems to work. By any chance heard anyone use grease to seal the gasket?
I am in the process of rebuilding my diff on my Kraton 6s and there is no shim between the sun gear and the seal believe it or not! In the instructions it shows there should be and it makes sense to have one but nowhere to be seen!
V3 kraton I guess switched to spiral cut. Cuz I chipped a few teeth off my back diff gear and it was hell trying to find another one. Got it shimmed up good so hopefully that won’t happen again
I did end up leaving the v2 battery tray in. As swapping it requires changing RX box and lifting ESC and servo mounts. A real pain for an unnecessary thing.
I use a SkyRC Quattro Q200. Quad charger because I race multiple cars at one event so the ability to charge up to 4 batts simultaneously is awesome. amzn.to/2MxjBV7
Oh yeah I mention wanting to do 100K in the rear, that isn't ideal. I plan on doing 50K front, 500K center, and maybe 10K rear? Not sure how light I want to go in the rear. With 500K center is it a standing backflip monster? I don't really want that, I'd prefer to just have it make use of the power better without diffing out to the front as much.
when u go to your doctor, or to the hospital, inevitably, you will find yourself waiting in an exam room, or patient room, while in there, look around the walls & you will almost certainly see a set of 3 or four boxes mounted on the wall, or on a desk filled with different sizes of Latex, or nitrile exam/doctors gloves, before the doctors returns, grab a pocket full and then you'll be glad you did when you rebuild a diff, or change your brake pads on your car, etc.
Get that bad boy fixed up n go bash n break it again John! Lol its like groundhogs day movie, lol I need that bumper for mine, is that rpm or t-bone? Ya brotha u need a drill 😆
I do have a full size cordless but that seems like overkill. I also have a crappy little black and decker power screwdriver that is weaker than I am. I need the between level, a nice small pistol grip lithium driver would be ideal.
@@TheBigToe69 what shims would you need for this? I have to pull my diffs apart and rebuild them and replace some axles. I ordered shims shown in the diff blow up diagram for the kraton and tried to order those shims but there isn't part numbers for all of them because they come as part of the diff gear set etc.
Shim goes on gear side. I would add two shim on gear side
Yeah a min later I mention it. Makes sense, but my Typhon didn't have any shims like that on the outside of the diff.
Thank You sir for making this video. You just saved me some money and taught me how to get to the river to drink on my own.
Good practice would be following exploded view as you're building... especially for someone who is inexperienced ;)
Great video. I shim the inside of my diffs. Shim behind the both sun gears

Very helpful video. I now feel confident to do my own. Cheers.
Super informative!!! Thank you!

Well that was cool. I I'm sitting here thinking about changing mine in my kraton 6s
thanks for the help, very informative. however next time the sway bar comes out with the cover for easier access.

Hi is this the 6s v4 is so I have the same car do you have a video of getting the centre diff out? Cheers Sam
Can I use any type of grease for the diff housing?
What weight oil should you run in the kraton?
U said v3 battery box, is this better set up,,,, cause those straps are a pain on the v4 kranton
I did end up leaving the v2 battery tray in. As swapping it requires changing RX box and lifting ESC and servo mounts. A real pain for an unnecessary thing.
How do you keep your truck so clean and black?
What size is that shim? I have the kit and it didn’t come with it..Also why is you Kraton straight gears and mine is spiral?
I’ve done that myself . Forgot one step and had to re do
Cool video 😎 I'm subscribed👍
Hey nice video, good explained !
Thanks for the diff vid brother! Going to rebuild my fronts and rears on my #6s #KRATON & my #6s #Notorious.
8:19 the pin doesn't sit on the rubber seal, theres a shim on top of the seal, under the pin.
I think there is now but mine is a v2 and old instructions didn’t show the shim that I can remember.
What kind of charger do you use...I’m looking for a new one

I'm running 60 front 500 center and and 30 rear

@@netcruzer I use 150k in the center, 50k front and 20k rear, I like it ;)
Sir, I know the Kraton comes with shims stock. Do you recommend adding more shims to make it even stronger? Thanks
yes it is recommended on the V3 or earlier models
vuthina roeun V3 or earlier it is recommended. V4 comes shimmed from factory
i have a small washer covering that o ring
The O-ring goes under the shim bro!
Ack! You are likely right. Maybe mine was build wrong from factory and I kept it wrong. Doh.
Really nice videos

It's an RPM. However, I am getting a T-BONE XV4 2.0 bumper to test and I'll get a review of that out soon!

@@netcruzer john I recommend the small skil brand one off Amazon. Its been great for me. Its just a small pistol grip and sells for 20-25$
My outcast diffs click loudly, is this normal?
no its in need of a re-build.
Man it looks like u have a hobby shop there eh!!
Haha! Rookie, that’s how we all learn
Thank's John 😁👍👍 I just snapped an outdrive on my Outcast and your video is gonna be Very Helpful in getting it done ✌️😎👍 HFLPRCing
Larry H. RMX RC PLAYPARK Don’t forget to shim them since you will have it apart. Properly shimmed diffs are almost unbreakable

I know you watch Demolition Ranch
if it goes together too easy check if you made a mistake 9/10 you forgot some thing :)
U must look funny with a GoPro straped to your forehead
You forgot your gasket seal
Bad move, new gear with old. Won't last long.
Still using it years later. There was no damage to the other gear.
@@netcruzer that's great to hear, with the gear broken like it was tends to damage the others.
