- It's been about 6 months since I splurged on a @RuggableWashableRugs for our entryway. It's time for a wash and time for me to tell you all what I really think about this. Is it worth it? Let's decide.

REVIEW UPDATE! DON't PUT THE TABS IN! I guess 4.5 stars for engineering. 😅 A more observant viewer brought to my attention that the "pockets" are not pockets, just heavy silicone to weight the rug down and it seems to make a difference, but you still have to make sure the mat is positioned just right or it doesn't fall flat. Obviously I'm not someone willing to read instructions to install a rug. So new idea... Ruggable puts a little sticker on one of the tags that says "Not A Pocket" for the idiots like me who assume at this point in their life they know how to properly install a rug. 😂 We'll see how that works with my wild children running and rolling over the corners. And I do still think it would be a pain in the a** to get a big rug lined up on the mat and smooth even with this realization.. but maybe it will only take 3 years to complete the task vs. 7.
I appreciate that you give honest reviews and show the struggles and strengths. Great video. Thanks 😊
It's the least I can do. 😊 Thank you for watching! 💕
In other videos where there were complaints about the corners curling up on Ruggable rugs (which the company sort of fixed but it can never totally lay flat with the added thickness in the corners), I saw some comments recommending Tumble rugs as a better washable alternative. I just get outdoor mats that can be hosed off when needed. I may not have mismatched socks but I'm definitely not fancy. As for the ripples, Lindsay Lexus shared a hack that you can roll up the rug for about a day to fix the issue.
P.S. All my socks are black so a bit of a cheat there!
Thank you for the useful info! I like the idea of using an outdoor mat. Especially for situations where the mat is used for containing the outdoors, indoors. 😅
I don't know if it would make a difference for you or your experience/opinion with the rug, but the directions from Ruggable do say not to put the rug pad in the corners of the rug. The rug corners are made that way to add extra weight so they don't flip up. 🤷🏻♀️
It would! Thank you for sharing that. Who reads instructions for installing a rug? Obviously not me. 🤣🤣🤣 It does seem like a weird feature, but I’ll at least give it a shot and do an updated review at some point!
I tried it and it worked! Thank you!!! I've pinned a comment with this miracle realization. 😂😂
I got a “washable” rug from world market that I loved the look of…but the dog vomited on it last week. I was honestly excited to wash it…and then realized it says to wash in a commercial washer. 😒 It’s been balled up in the laundry room most of the week with me trying to decide if I can get away with tossing it in my front loader.
It’s very soft, but you need to buy a pad separately and it does move around a bit.
It was only around $100 for a 4x6. So it might be worth considering if you want to save some money.
Oh no! How frustrating! Is it just too big to fit in a residential washer? That totally defeats the purpose of having a washable rug if you have to take it somewhere to wash it. 😭😭
@@SimplifyingTheSatherns that was my thinking exactly. 😂 My duvet insert says to wash in a front load commercial washer…but I always throw it in my front loader and haven’t had any problems. But I also don’t want to break our washer trying to wash the rug. LOL
Yeah.. Maybe just put it in and see how much space it takes up then decide. 🤷🏻♀️ I wonder if it says that regardless of size. I overloaded my washer a few years ago and it got so off balance that the part that holds the drum in place broke and basically the washer got in a car accident with my dryer. So I empathize where you’re coming from. Getting new appliances really isn’t as exciting as I imagined it would be. 🙃
@@SimplifyingTheSatherns Pretty sure my husband would be reminding me of the time I broke our washing machine for the rest of our lives. 😂
We don’t want that. 😆
Is this not just a piece of fabric?
No, it's a thin woven rug.
