New friend here. Love seeing your pantry and stockpiles. Love your shacket too! I think a lot of us have learned lessons post-'19' stockpiling. Congrats on your new home, and best wishes for making the most of the year ahead!

I started using the tomato powder from Azure. I’ve been able to replace tomato paste and tomato sauce by keeping it in storage. You add warm water to the powder to create the paste or sauce you need. It has prevented the what do I do with the rest of the paste challenge when you only need a tablespoon or two as well as creating more shelf space and gets rid of more cans. Plus you can control the consistency you want/like. The flavor is really good and it’s plain so you can add whatever seasons you want as needed. Price wise, I’ve found it saves money as well. I started with the smaller bag to see how I liked it, now I get it in bulk. If you use a good amount of tomato products, try it and see how you like it. And you can freeze dry your milk products like the half and half, heavy cream etc. works fantastic. I do it all the time. Find a recipe for seasoning you like and turn your ground pork into sausage patties and freeze them for easy use!

Thanks for giving me some great ideas. I just started a new project at the same time we got hit with the snow that didn't want to leave. We purchased 6 shelving units to transfer our basement pantry on to. I really need to keep better tabs on dates and quantities. I'm also stocking up with the 2 gal buckets. I'm hoping once I can see what I have I can order from Azure more accurately and meal plan!! That shelf from Ikea is really nice. Hugs to the littles!!

@@jillwagner1823 thanks for joining! I will have to find a good recipe. I made it once and it was bland - I will have to try again. :)

I bet your strawberry lemonade would work *PERFECT* as a flavoring in the second fermentation of kombucha!! 😋

This is seriously some goals I have for once we move… I am praying to get more organized and more intentional with our eating and cooking. How do you go about planning all your meals in advance and staying on top of it all?

When I’m meal planning, I plan by the month. I’ll come up with 30 meals and write them all on a large calendar. It’s not rigid though - I make whichever one works for our evening and cross it off. I also plan 7 breakfasts and 7 lunches and rotate them each week.
I also go through seasons where I don’t plan, and I just pick cuts of meat from our freezers and work from there, planning sides with what I need to use up.

@ do you have a recipe book you go off of or just google? Or all recipes you already know? I can’t fathom 30 recipes lol I feel like I am constantly making the same 7 recipes or just switching out the types of meats

I love cooking so I do have a ton of cookbooks. I also print recipes all the time and keep them in a “try” folder. When I sit down to plan, I’ll flip through those, cookbooks, and ask family what they’re craving. We do have some repeats each month - burger, steak and pizza usually make the menu multiple times each month :)
