I knew when I was a teenager that I wanted to be a nurse.Maybe it was because my mother died when I was seven and the last time I saw her alive is when she went into the hospital where she died. And after being a nurse for 49 years just retiring at age 69.I have been turely blessed. The last place i worked was in Raleigh NC.where I worked in a prison hospital caring for sick inmates.

Seek the answers from the Spirit. What ever you do in life, the best it can be is whatever the Lord is in, or wills for you. Be aware the Word is full of many called of God to a life or purpose outside their current scope or viewpoint, regardless that was where they needed to be.

If I'm being bluntly honest, I'm 30 years old and I'm still struggling with what it is that I want to do. I'v never been able to hold down a job either because I've gotten fired because of my attitude because I don't put with no mess or I would just quit because the job would because so mentally and emotionally overwhelming and I'm the type of person I who feels that taking care of my mental health is more important than working a super hard job for someone who doesn't value my emotional well being.

I’m in a similar situation, but I’ve been loyal and held down jobs for long periods of time. I just can’t find anything I like doing that makes time go by fast, nor can I find anything I can master or get really good at. My current jobs just drains me and takes away my drive and energy. I just have zero excitement or interest about what I do currently. It just pays my bills.

I feel like this is what I wanted to hear... Everybody seems to disagree with me when I chose to orient my studies in agriculture and they want me to be a doctor... I want to be involved in my family life as a future mum and spend time with orphans who really need just someone to make them smile and teach them to pray Even if I get nothing material to give them... So I wanted a career that fits my life goals and still make me help people around me glorify God for all the gifts we have... But still my family want me to be a doctor so that I can earn a life of higher standard... And I feel like this video is just encouraging me to prioritize my life goals first... It's quite difficult for me since I am coming from a rich family and being the elder daughter makes it even complicated for them to admit that I don't dream of getting more material as a doctor in comparison to a agricultural person... Thanks so much for remind me that I'm making a good choice in my priorities and the example you used is just my situation...
    God bless

1.) Define what a career actually is?
-job: I do to make money
-calling: having a spiritual gift to benefit to other ppl 1.)where does my skill &
    Collide at?
    -career: a field I am
    2.)if I ask
    2.)choose my life goals 1st
Career: is a field of study.

“You can only be steered/ guided if you’re moving”
if you’re still in middle school or high school & you don’t know what career you’d like to see yourself studying, keep learning about yourself, Your likes, your dislikes, what you’re passionate about. Keep developing your gifts and skills so you may use them for God’s glory. Don’t be lazy-Work with a good effort, and don’t put off learning what you want to learn or the important stuff for later. Love & be thankful, don’t give up so easily, You got this! and when you mess up, learn from mistakes, remember to forgive yourself and keep going. Take it a day at a time and do the best you can to achieve your goals. You are loved. Pls take care of physical, mental, spiritual health.

Really needed this. I had no idea the difference between a job/career and a calling which now makes a lot of sense in my life as I felt in heart my whole life that I need to be an actress or rather that I am an actress but I chose graphic design as my career to financially support myself and I like it. I love graphic season but im IN LOVE with acting and I was hurt and confused on why I can't just act since I seen that my acting has touch people's lives and impacted them in a great way and even spiritually at times, but everything was stopping me from chosing it as a career path and going to college for it. Now I understand. Thank you.

    Hey Brother Mark,
first off i want to say I love your channel and the subjects you bring to the table to bless others that most churches just don't address. I'll be honest i was very skeptical at first with all the UA-cam ministers floating around but after listening to you i can say you bless me and others. Thank you so much for your time and energy.
Now, on to what i wanted to share with you. I like this video, i think it is going in the right direction as far as.. Defining the three aspects of job, career and calling. However, i think it would be better to simply say that a career is what you do based on the skills you have to fund your life style so you can fullfil your purpose. Jobs and Careers are.. Very similar in that their primary focus is to fund your life. But i think it would be simpler especially for younger people to understand that a career is just an advanced job meaning it is the thing to do to fund your entire life not just something you plan on doing for the next 3 years in the summer. Another thing is just because something pulls you out of your comfort zone does not mean you should not choose that as a career. If you are uncomfortable doing it, but you have skills in it and are good at it and it can provide the income for your lifestyle you should do it. More than likely if you are getting pulled out of your comfort zone but you are good at it that just means God is trying to grow you and you need to stop resisting so He can use that to help you support your calling. I really like how you talked about hard skills as a first thing to get because most are not taught this. Thanks again

Thank you for sharing bits about your personal journey. I felt like I was called to ministry as a teenager and I have volunteered in many capacities, but didn’t pursue vocational ministry because I didn’t feel sure. I started pursuing an education degree and have been subbing for a few months on top of my full-time job that I’m feeling ready to be done with. I keep wrestling with feeling unsure and unsettled because I want to move to a different state from where I am and am struggling with direction at the moment. This has been difficult for me. For most of my life I idealized beco.ing a doctor without looking into it went through undergrad doing biology as my major. I started having second thoughts around junior year and decided to take a year off. I've been going up and down since then with deciding if being a doctor is the right career choice. I'm realizing the sacrifices I would have to make and it doesn't line up with the things I suddenly realize I want long term such as family and a more flexible schedule. It has been difficult getting to this place but I still feel confused about it all. Ease keep me In prayer

Hello! Believe me I kinda know where you are coming from... deciding a career can be difficult and part of the reason is we can kinda put a lot of pressure on ourselves... wanting a career to be a calling like Mark said. I’m trying to decide between nursing and el education in undergrad, and I also realize that goals of me wanting to have a family will be hard as a nurse with how inconsistent the schedule may be... while being a doctor is deff harder than nursing as far as extra schooling... Advice I would give is to find out what parts of being a doctor you like, and maybe you can find a career that has similar aspects of being a doctor, while still having a family and a flexible schedule! For me, I realize I love encouraging people and the health education part of nursing so there’s a lot of avenues for me I can go with that.(not so great since I’m so indecisive!) but the limited advice I have 😂 is to ask yourself what part of being a doctor you enjoy and go from there. I realize the specific things I enjoy can sorta be found in el education and nursing, for el Ed I’ll have the summer off so I can figure out a way to incorporate my health education interest.... I’m also looking into being a dietician... so lot of options... and you have many options too. Above all else, read the Bible and make sure you have a relationship with God because that’s how I’ve gained the knowledge I have so far. I used to worry about my future all the time and God has helped me realize that I need to trust him fully(giving up the desire to know my future) and believe that whatever happens he will help me find a career for my interests and give me fulfillment in *His perfect timing*. I declare these scriptures over both of our lives and anyone else struggling... Genesis 39:23 Proverbs 3:5-6 Jeremiah 29:11 Romans 8:28. Thanks for listening to my ted talk if u made it this far and God bless 💛

I wish that when I was a teenager I had given more thought to what I should be doing career wise. I just went with crowd and assumed that I needed to go to college which I did and I managed to get a degree in an otherwise lucrative business field but with no connections and quite frankly a lack of in my opinion aptitude for the profession to begin with I basically have floundered around and lower end non degreed jobs for most of my adult life. I suppose before it's too late I need to consider a blue-collar option at this point.

I feel like I have all three wrapped into one. A Nurse is a job (something to do to make $$$), career (a field you get into through specialized training), and calling (a Spiritual gift to benefit other people/ the world needs it)! I love, love, loved being a geriatric nurse. Last year, I had planned to die doing it or until I was no longer a safe nurse to continue practicing.
Now, what was so easily for me to obtained is now like trying to get water out of a rock. I just don't understand.... It's a nursing shortage everywhere so why has it been so hard for me to find a place for me to continue my passion of taking care of the elderly? It makes me so sad. It makes me really sad... I feel like I have been "black listed"! I don't know?? All of a sudden, these past months, I can't find a place to work. What have I done so wrong? I have never hurt my people. I tried to be a good nurse and take care of my people. I tried to give them their meds on time. I tried to answer their lights as soon as I could if the assistant couldn't do it. I don't know what I did? But I must have done something really horrid! I am not perfect but I tried to be a good nurse to my people and tried to help my colleagues. Idk? Maybe I wasn't good enough. It has to be something that I did wrong😣....I am the common denominator in this equation!

Honestly I feel like my only skill and gifting that people benefit from and appreciate a lot are my words. My ability to speak in a way that is almost poetic sometimes and those things. That’s all I got . There is a level of creativity and symbolism I enjoy thinking on . That’s why I love reading Old Testament bf speaking about interpretations of the bible. So that sucks because what can I do with that. I’d probably be happy being a counselor for people or creating something or something. Idk though. I’m a biomed Engineering major and I’m tired of school and academia and i am not great at this stuff at all.

🤔 I think I may want to get more involved in the church and serving more than anything so I’m trying to find a job where I’ll have weekends off. I also don’t really want to work full time but then I’ll be out money. I do want to make my new church the most important thing at the moment though.

Ya I'm stuck in witchcraft, and unfortunately that tainted my career prospects and claimed them in the name of god. I remember hearing a distinct voice telling me not to take the first out, so I might go work in a warehouse and then see if god resurrects my old career once I'm no longer in bondage. Thanks for this

Job>>>career>>>>calling. Add value >>> internal satisfaction >>> $$$>>> add more value >>>> feeling very happy when they succeed >>> $$$$$$......
give so u can receive. For example u chose to be real state agent so u gonna help them how to buy a house from scratch, teaching them how to save for down payment(finance) , teaching them about investment in that house. you do this because u want them to be happy and satisfied. After this u just gonna paid what value u added.

    Great video...!
When I was a kid, I prayed to choose my career. I thought I would be a teacher someday, 'cuz I always had this calling to teach. But then I found out I could be an airplane pilot. So I started studying and investing money to become a pilot someday. Now... I have all this amazing experience as a pilot, but I've got no job. I've invested like a lot of money to become a pilot thinking that was God's purpose (everything worked so fine and God knows I would never be able to do this by myself), but now... I don't know if God chooses our career or if he cares about it. Because all he wants is us to pray and announce his kingdom. What do you think? Is our career that important?

    • @DZeroXMax
      @DZeroXMax Рік тому +1

I think God still cares about which career or path we choose because we can also glorify Him through them (by being good workers, providing for our families, being a blessing to people we serve, etc.); and the purposes that He has for our lives may sometimes involve our careers too. However, as Mark mentioned in the video we don't have to put too much pressure on our careers to fulfill everything we want, need or expect so I think while it may not make sense right now why you had to spend so much time and money on something that you may not end up doing, God will still use those experiences you had for your good and they will help you in the next thing He has for you. God bless you 🙌

How can I find my calling if I don't have any skills. Seriously, I'm 41 and I have no real skills. I've spent years trying to identify any potential strengths I might have but can't think of anything. Do I not have a calling? If not, what do I do? If I have no calling, what is even the point of me being alive?

How do I find my calling? I'm still confused. But I have few talents given by God:
1.Very strong intuition and sometimes through dreams is given to me to see how to help to someone or that someone needs a prayer.
    2. Talent for powerful writing.
    3. Helping lower society groups or people with lower titles when they rights aren't respected or they are not heard from the authorities. Even if I'm 24 authorities listen to my voice and I have the power to influence them. Ex: one of the directors was using his power for personal gains and students were suffering in the college for years. Was able to change that in two days for the students of the whole university ! Thanks to God now we all have the necessary things we need.
But I still don't understand how to choose my career somehow a regular job doesn't full fill me and Im confused in making choices.
Does anyone have any advice for me ? Please let me know. Will be appreciated. Sometimes I just feel like I don't belong on this earth..
