@@Witty924 no worries, just done the timing belt last week, we have a UA-cam called chintz motorsport- recently purchased a 190 and a 924 - still editing the videos at the moment for those, but I’m sure you’ll love the nova gte restoration and other mechanical adventures 👍🏼
Thanks for your videos. Very hellpfull. I have a minerva blue 1979 924. I love these cars. Mine is pretty nice but also needs some commmon 924 updates/repairs..
Hi McRoepster thanks foe your comment and great to hear you have an early 924, great little cars to enjoy. Let me know if I can help at all, best of luck 👍
It’s a good feeling to get a service done, good luck with the MOT. Your washer bottle pump isn’t in the standard position, and neither is the plumbing? Have you fitted a different pump? Mines on its last legs, and the replacement is equally rubbish, so I’m looking for an alternative solution.
Thanks Chris, well spotted. It was dual pumps originally fitted when I bought the car, I changed them out foe the Tudor pump but I find that they all tend to fail within 6 months. So I'm looking for alternative also that is a little more reliable. Let me know if you find anything 🤞
@@Witty924 have you welded before? It needs a bit of care when doing it as the metal is quite thin, and obviously the captive nut needs to be accurately located.
@@chrismadge7292 I have about a dozen times but as you say the metal looks a little thin. I'm going to cut the plates out with captive nuts and take it down to the weld shop and let them advise on best welder to use. 🤞
I cannot take a picture at this moment but according to 1985 Porsche 924 parts catalog (PDF download from Porsche) it should be 823 721 567 bearing sleeve (position 16A). You can find it in the drawing and partslist.
I have a good idea for your channel....How about just not playing that God awful music and stop fast forwarding all the good bits...I think you might see your channel grow a bit more! Looking forward to watching a whole episode one day...cheers
To bad you fast forward all the interesting parts. It would be awesome if you actually showed what your doing rather than fast forward it all. Makes the videos far less helpful.
Cold start regulator looks like a nice job
Thanks Alex, these old classics always keep you busy 👍🚙💨

Nice too see a 924 video from you again. I use Motul Classic 2100 15W-50 (high zinc content for flat tappets) and a Mahle or Mann filter.
Thanks Marty for the comment and support. A few more to follow, the work never ends ;). That's good oil and filters you use too 👍

Yep I have to weld up the drivers seat mount. They are a bit under engineered, which isn’t like Porsche!
Agree, I'm going to hire a welder foe the day and take a crack at it. 🤞

It seems that the bushing of the lever on the throttle body is missing and the cable has a nick.
Marty could you send me a picture of what is missing if you can to my instagram if you are on Instagram?

@@marty9248 thanks Marty I will take a look 👍
Wheres the engine oil and Filter Change?
Hi, I didn't think anyone wanted to see a filter being screwed in or oil being poured into the engine 👍

Hi Fredrik, thanks for the comment and support, always great to get feedback so I will take that onboard for future videos 👍
