The guy who plays Dibber was Glen Murphy, who was more famous for a series called London’s Burning in the early 90s. Katryca was played by Joan Sims who was famous for the Carry On films. She went into a great children’s show called Simon And The Witch in the early 90s. Merdeen was played by Tom Chadbon who was Duggan in City Of Death. Oh and Tony Selby was also in a series called Love Hurts in the 90s with Adam Faith and Zoe Wanamaker (who was Cassandra in new Who).

I really enjoyed this segment to Trial. I view Trial as an epic story now were I didn’t use to because I was used to the movie formats that were aired on PBS. I actually like parts 9 to 12 the best but this is Holmes last story, well, technically part 13. Dominic Glynn scored the incidental music. He arranged the Trial DW theme as well as Dragonfire, The Happiness Patrol, and Survival, which I have the cd. I wish the BBC will release more music especially from the 80s era.

Thanks Prowl…..this is a hidden gem and the best story of S23 although Vervoids runs it close.
Plenty to enjoy with a great supporting cast and flows well.

@@simonmincher2040 those are my two favorites of the season as well. Great minds think alike. Appreciate you sending the boxset!

Colin was also a little over-theatrical when he guest starred in Star Trek Continues.
He does very well when there's a strong director (eg Harper) to rein him in a bit..

With this being a Robert Holmes script and the Andromeda galaxy mentioned I thought the Krotons would be revealed in this stpry

This one could actually work with the trial scenes removed unlike Mindwarp.

It's an okay story, but the next two don't feel like derivative retreads as much as this one, with Ark in Space and even Matrix in-jokes that don't fit quite right. Holmes was ill, which explains part of it.
That said, his double acts are GREAT and overcome any plot nitpicks and, yup, his natural ability for dialogue still renders this one a must see.
Loved Drathro. L1 is too square for my liking.
    About Colin
.. Bad... bad?! BAD!!!!! He's awesome in this! But to be fair, I grew up more with the theatrical and not as much "natural" acting.
Joan Sims was a regular in the bawdy "Carry On" films from the 1960s. They're a bit slow paced, but a couple from the later 60s arguably hold up.

I can’t finish episode 3 and Joan Sims should’ve been a rezzie, she was miscast. For Tom Chadbon to go from City of Death to this, no you stay in City of Death.
