Oh this is a tough one! You’ve got me between a rock and a hard place - but I‘d have to choose Power of the Daleks!

Honestly I'm tempted to make my own rant video venting my whole frustration with how this bi-generation has been handled. I wouldn't have such a big issue with it if RTD actually followed up with what he set up in the first place.

Man, I was mostly agreeing with your reviews for the longest, but I gotta veer off on your ranking this time. lol For season 9, TheSea Devils, Day of the Daleks, Curse of Peladon, The Time Monster, and lastly The Mutants. For season 10, The Green Death, The Three Doctors, Carnival of Monsters, Frontier in Space, and lastly Planet of the Daleks. I knew at conventions Troughton and Pertwee would have gun pistol fights. I wish I could have been there.

I do like these stories. Even though I have them, I hope they put them with remastered audio for a wilderness years collection set or on Season 11 collection set. They're too Classic to not be a part of those.

This story actually takes place between The Time Warrior and Invasion of the Dinosaurs, which is unusual, considering the latter occurs immediately after the former. A good audio adventure which came out for the 30th anniversary. The VR elements make this feel more like a nineties thing than the seventies. It would be impossible to have made this tale in the 1970s with the budget and technology. Read the novelisation too (which is the last numbered Target book according to the inside). It goes into extra detail. I like the two Jon Pertwee radio dramas with the next one The Ghosts of N-Space being my favourite of the two.

Was that the new video intro, but with the old music!? Now I don’t know what to think. lol, which do I like better now? I don’t even know! 😹

Last year I bought these two stories on vinyl in one box set and remember liking them. It was nice listening to the original actors after listening to The Third Doctor Adventures by Big Finish. The guys doing the third doctor and the brigadier for Big Finish are doing a really good job you can't beat the original actors.

I still hope for Season 21

I heard about this audio and know about it but never heard it. I’ll have to try it. I know Tom and Colin have other two audio adventures that weren’t Big Finish that I need to explore. We’ll have to talk about your thoughts on Batman Forever. I’m a Keaton fan 😂

I'm very fond of The Paradise of Death and The Ghosts of N-Space, although much of that is based on nostalgia. I'm not blind to their flaws, but they're entertaining - and back in the Wilderness Years it was a relief to get some (any!) new Who. Plus, I think it's fair to say without them we probably wouldn't have had Big Finish, so they deserve some respect. That said, I f*cking hate Jeremy Fitzoliver, though.

This is a fun third doctor audio adventure, & whilst not amazing, it definitely captures the feel of a Pertwee era story really well, probably because it was written by Barry Letts. The cast is all great, but the character of Jeremy is just the worst, super annoying, & has nothing to do. The second one, The Ghost of N-Space, is definitely the weakest out of the two & very much a slog to get through; even if I go & read the Virgin Book adaptation, I find that drags more than the audio. Probably best not to listen to that one in one sitting, Prowl. 😉👍

I'm not a big fan of either but if I have to choose I'd go with Genesis of the Daleks. I agree with you that the real threat of it is the Daleks waiting for the right time to become the Daleks. And I love Michael Wisher as Davios. He's the best one. Power of the Daleks is ok but it has one of the scenes that I really don't like. Were the doctor is trying to provoke the Daleks. And of the 2 doctors I'm more of a Tom Baker fan. I also love Patrick Troughton but I just find Tom Baker funnier. Though Patrick Troughton has his moments too. Power of the Daleks is a good post regeneration story but I think Genesis is a good look into other own past and what could be our future. Sorry for rambling but you know when I have something to say I say it.

Great collection! Just got hold of season 26 limited edition myself at last to complete the set ( so far) !

Star Trek TOS is still the very best run of episodes ever. Thank goodness it was shot on film , totally agree, the Blu Rays are stunning . This one is iny top ten Trek episodes .

Both are good but for story I like Genesis. For better use of the Daleks I go with Power.

Whilst I have to say Genesis, Power is definitely good and the Daleks themselves along with their rise and scheming is perfect. Troughton himself also hits the ground running. The animated nature of it is definitely a shame, but the story is great. With regards to Genesis, Davros is perfect, Tom is great, you get the iconic "Do I have the right?" scene. The War on Skaro feels like a location you constantly want the lead trio to escape from and seeing the conditions and attitudes of the Khaleds and Thals it makes so much sense that Daleks are the end result. Not even Giant Clams can stop it. Two of Classic Who’s finest, but Genesis comes out on top for me

I'm going with Power I think, because it's not just a great Dalek story it's also the first big change.

Genesis is the better story... power arguably the more important for the show historically.. ep 1 mainly.. i would give anything to see power though

Almost too tough to call this match up. Revenge extremely underrated and works superbly between the Nerva Beacon and eerie caves of Voga. Costumes / sets look great and 4th Doctor getting into his stride while being supported by two of the best companions ever. That said I still think Earthshock has a slight edge…..upgrade of Cybermen works well and this is one of the 5th Doctor’s best performances. It’s the first time I saw a companion die and the cliffhanger at end of episode one is the best in DW history. Could watch either of these stories anytime. In fact I might this weekend!

One of my favourite seasons….three great stories to start including my best Dalek story and also introducing the Sea Devils. Mutants I struggle with but Time Monster is a guilty pleasure. This is the point where the show changes direction and begins to limit Unit involvement

Solid entertaining season of Who that has alot to enjoy. Gets off to a strong start with Terror / MOE with a couple of weaker stories in the middle although I like how show goes to an alien planet in Colony. Daemons also strong but overrated. As you said Pertwee does not have a bad season

I definitely voted (for genesis). Thought I commented, obviously did not. If Power existed. I think it would be a contender or at least I may have voted for it. But the fact it’s animated vs Genesis.. Genesis wins.

7:11 great point! And yeah, "Power" too does the same Dalek slaughtering, but it's not Davros driving that story's plot. A good Davros story is almost as good as a good Dalek story. Genesis and Revelation excel in that regard, but even the 80s people were hoping for a non-Davros Dalek story again and "Dalek" largely delivers, as does Eccleston's finale.. so did "Eve of", much to my surprise... mostly because the Daleks aren't a comedy act and exterminate on cue for full dramatic effect...

Evil of the Daleks all 6 missing episodes. That doesn't leave me too many left to pick. I'd want to complete Web of Fear and The Moonbase, and then with only 1 left over, I suppose Mission to the Unknown for the curiosity value. I've never rated Tenth Planet, always thought it looked a bit pants. I'm just delighted we got Tomb, it would have been in my top set if we hadn't.

I tread this episode as a comedy like The Trouble With Tribbles. It was written as such.

Wow. The surprise is ruined by the title. LoL. I love all of Season 10. I currently have All of season 10 on VHS tapes. I use to think that the planet of the Daleks is the best Jon Pertwee Daleks story now I think it's Death to the Daleks. And I'm reconsidering Day of the Daleks. Just a quick question. Why do they expect us to be surprised when it's ruined by the title. Anyway it's still a great season.

Totally agree, I always watch Planet Of The Daleks with the original effects, far superior. Carnival Of Monsters is my favourite from this superb season and is also my third favourite story of all time . Have been a huge fan of it since I first saw it on a rare repeat in the UK in the long gap between the 4th and 5th Doctors. Total classic.

I think a lot of the stuff in the Green Death is still relatable today. I haven't seen it in years. It is one of my favourite stories. With the computer taking over relates today with AI, the environmental protests are relatable today and the Doctor crossdressing is relatable today too.

They would often have the monster reveal at the end of part one and I think they did this with Dalek stories even though they are in the title of the story was to tease the audience.

👏 Above all, I adore the unique *confidence* of the Third Doctor…. my guess is we’ll never see its like again.

The Last of the True Unit Family Stories! This is def a Classic of Classic Dr Who's seasons!

I totally aggregate with your assessment of season 10. It does feel like they hit their strive. The BOSS was voiced by John Dearth who would play Lupton in Planet of the Spiders. When I was in London last year my hotel was blocks from where they filmed Frontier in Space and Remembrance. It was really neat to see that.
