Instant Pot BBQ Ribs
1 rack baby back ribs
1/2 cup apple juice
1 cup water
1/2 tsp liquid smoke
1-2 cups favorite BBQ Sauce ( I Love Sweet Baby Ray's)
Spice Rub
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp paprika
2 Tbsp smoked paprika
1/2 Tbsp black pepper
1 Tbsp Kosher salt
1 tsp cumin
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp onion powder
1/2 Tbsp chili powder
Instructions:
Remove membrane from ribs if needed
Mix together the rub ingredients
Pat ribs dry with a paper towel and rub both sides of ribs rack with rub mixture.
Place ribs around side of the Instant Pot, with the meaty side facing the center of the pot. Place them on top of the metal trivet that comes with the pot.
Pour apple juice, water and liquid smoke into the center of the pot, don't pour it over the ribs and wash off the rub.
Put on the lid, turn valve to sealing and set to high pressure for 25 minutes. Do a ten minute natural release and then a quick release.
Carefully remove ribs from pot and place them on a baking sheet. Generously brush both sides of ribs with BBQ sauce.
Place ribs under broiler and allow sauce to set, bubble and begin to caramelize.
Cut ribs apart before serving. Serve with some additional BBQ sauce for dipping if desired.

Nicely done. Thank you.

Although I have a pellet grill smoker, I decided to try this as a quick solution for making ribs. I used a rub mix already in pantry which pretty much had the same ingredients. These were delicious, tender and juicy. A great way to make ribs in a hurry.
Glad you enjoyed them!
Now maybe do a combo. Smoke for an hour then finish in the instapot/oven

Thank Thank for this recipe it's perfect, except I will have to substitute the sugar for Stevia / monkfruit because I'm a type 2 diabetic. But I believe it's still going to taste so delicious I can't wait to make it.
Enjoy!
Can you bake these in the oven if you don’t have an instant pot?? How long & temperature?? Thank you! 🙌💗🙏🥰
When you bake them in the oven, they work better with a wet marinade that includes some vinegar so it will tenderize the meat.
“My rack is in 2 pieces” 😳🤣
Just the way I like them! Thanks for the video
Thanks! Enjoy!
If you needed to place a second rack of ribs and curl them into the center of the instant pot, should you increase the cook time?
Nope.
No
We just did a rack that was 3.88 pounds 24 minutes slow release. I could get them out of the pot without them falling apart checked the temp and they were 200° F. Then sauced and into a 410° oven for 5 minutes. They weren't fall off the bone tender, had some chew. I will up the time next time to 25 minutes see what happens.
Did you remember to use vinegar or some kind of acid as part of the liquid in the instant pot?
Edit: Apple juice alone isn't always enough. I have found better success using broth or water with like a TBSP of some kind of vinegar. I hear carbonated drinks work too but I haven't tried that.
@@nutrihealthaura I can't remember now. I did rub them with mustard and added a dry rub. I will do the vinegar thing next time, thanks.
I'm going to try this. I've tried doing them in the Air Fryer, but they always come out dry.
Hope you enjoy
Are these pork ribs? What temperature do I cook it for pork is it the same?
yes they are pork
This is pretty much fool proof regardless of whether you have some type of pressure cooker OR a Ninja Foodi. It's pretty much the same process. For a single rack of baby backs, you can probably do 19-20 minutes with an instant release. You'll still be able to pull the bones out of the ribs even after that brief of a time & the ribs will already be at the done temperature. Then the only thing left is how you finish. In my Foodi, I can remove the liquid used for pressure & switch to air crisp OR for clean up purposes, I can switch to my broiler.
Use 1 cup water for 6 Quart Instant Pot. For 8 quart, use 1&1/2 cup water...
I prefer Sweet Baby Ray's Honey barbecue sauce.
that's a good one

My husband says we can't cook ribs in an insta pot. Should I divorce him 😅
hmmm?? Has he tried it?
That Look Sooo Good. If You Ever Use UNCLE YAMMING BAR B CUE SAUCE. O M G. I COOKED SOME RIBS ON THE SMALL GRILL. HAD NO SEASONS WHEN RIBS WERE DONE, I POURED UNCLE YAMMING ON THEM N COVERED. THE COMPLIMENTS I RECIEVED JUST MADE ME FEEL SO GREAT. I BEEN USING IT EVERY SINCE. A LITTLE MORE EXPENSIVE BUT YOU STILL SAVE WITHOUT THE SEASONINGS.
Thanks for the tip
