@@winchester92stevebrook44 Did you test ride both the Triumph and Indian before making the decision? While I'm not in the financial position to get a second bike now I will probably do test rides to get to know them both.
@@Cyan37 I didn't get to test ride the Indian, I'm sure I would have loved it though. The Triumph Bobber has it's peak torque lower down the rev range, which suits my style of riding. Hopefully I will get to test the Indian one day, and see if the choice I made was right. 🤔
The Triumph & Indian hands down look the best IMO. I previously owned a 2019 Triumph Bobber, I miss that bike so much but sold it do to moving. I'll be picking up an Indian Scout Bobber in the near future because I need the option for a passenger seat.
Ironically, I just sat on the R12 2 hours ago. I've ridden all but the R12, and even owned a Scout. As a shorter rider (5'5" with 29" inseam) I think other shorter riders won't care for the ergonomics of the R12. The seat and frame are quite wide at the stand-over point and the seat digs into my thighs. The width results in my heals being 1.5" off the ground. No flat footing this bike. I can flat foot the other 3 bikes. I would also say the R12 doesn't carry its weight as well as the other 3 bikes. The R12 feels heavier. Also, the upswept exhaust design on the left side of the R12 means no luggage on that side of the bike - very strange design. Also strange is the lack of a fuel gauge. My initial enthusiasm for the R12 has waned before even riding the bike.
@@stanmil5495it gets hard to work out how much fuel you have left when you only partially fill it and then ride it. it's definitely a good feature to have in my book!
I have owned the Indian Scout Bobber and I own the Triumph Bobber as well. Both are wonderful bikes...loud and visually appealing. I would say, though, that the Triumph handles much better than the Indian and is a bit less stretched out - thus feeling more balanced. The Indian is a rough bike (literally...it is very rough feeling on the road any my spine agrees), but cool factor is extremely high. Though I do love them both, I would choose the Triumph overall above the Indian. Just my two cents!
The Indian will destroy the new Harley, v twin engine that has soul and character, the Harley is full of plastic and has a very small tank underneath the seat, the battery is buried behind the radiator and maintenance is not easy, the Indian is better built and is everything we wanted the Harley to be with the previous generation evolution engine which they could of done just like Indian. BMW will appeal to people who want a more modern kind of cruising and Enfield will grab the entry level cost effective 650 with the gap left by the Yamaha vstar and bolt discontinued. This big question is who will continue with this line of bikes? As an owner of a Harley 883 Iron 2017 i plan to return to a smaller more cost effective diverse bike the Triumph x400 the KTM 390 Adventure and the BMW 310 GS
Enjoyable review. I get your reasoning but for me, chain drive is not a positive so I'd place the others above the Trumpet. For me on styling and how it goes, the Indian wins. Cheers
Another great video. I would love a video to compare the new Scout to the RE Super Meteor to see if you believe the cost difference is worth what the Indian brings to the table.
Great review....nicely done by staying impartial. Of course....Bobbers, by the nature of the class are all about cool factor and styling, not tech. If we wanted tech, that's what the other bike categories are for. In my humble opinion, the styling should be worth 2-3 points for this class. Hence my completely biased opinion....THE BOBBER wins this comparison hands down and that's where I put my Quid or in this case, dollars. Thanks again for a great review!
Cruise is Not standard on the R12 it’s part of the comfort pack at another £998, and you can spec flat bars. The pillion pack is £200 so over 14k in the end
I think you're spot on Bob. Objectively the BMW looks like the best bike of the bunch and I certainly prefer an upright riding posture, but if all four are in my garage I think the Triumph and the Indian are what I am taking out every time.
106 Nm at just 4k rpm puts the Triumph engine as the best of this bunch. The Indian engine has always been gorgeous but with just one disc up front, both Americans are off my list.
I’ve no interest in cruisers but sometimes a bike in a genre that you’ve no interest in just grabs you. Now I’m a big R nineT fan and I do like the looks of the R12 but for me the Indian Scout Bobber in black is just so cool. Far too cool for uncool me unfortunately !
Whatever it is, the R12 isn't a cruiser. It looks too much like a parts bin special to me, even the R1200C had a better cruiser vibe about it. I'm sure it rides great, which for some might be all that is needed, but the Triumph and Indian have the right spin on the cruiser concept. The Harley looks OKish from one side and beyond awful from the other and looks count for a lot.
Got the nightster as first bike what sold me was the service at the HD dealership honestly other dealers was like sit on the bike what do you think??? While HD it was try this models we got lets go for a ride what do you think?
@Motobob: Thank you for this video! How are "heritage" motorcycles doing saleswise in the UK? I"m asking because in the German 2023 top50 sales the only "heritage" models are the 900 RS and the CB 650 R (which is extremely popular and holds 10th place, CBR 650 R is 13th). In fact there are no motorcycles from Royal Enfield, Triumph, HD or Indian at all to be found in the '23 top50. At the same time the Rebel 500 takes the 5th place 😅 This was different only a few years ago: The RnineT and the 48 were THE hipster bikes and held top20 spots year after year. 883 and Street Bob always top30, here and there a 650 from RE and a Triumph. So I'm curious if the new models can pull it off and turn things around. Obviously checkered flag for the café racers, now it's bobber time! The Shotgun. And every Chinese manufacturer has at least one bobber in the lineup. In terms of success I feel the R12 might have the biggest potential of the bunch. In my perception black and a stripped down look suits the bike the most. The dual tone colour shemes makes the bike look a bit old fashioned in my eyes. But - fair enough - I can see many buyers bling bling this thing up or modify it. The potential for individualiisation is huge. With the Scouts you choose from 5 different models and go from there. With the Triumph Bobber it is what it is basically.
I don't care what Harley does with the Nightster. As someone who owns one, it's far too limited for what Harley offers with it, regardless of the Included Pill on and passenger pegs on the Nightster Special model. RIP Bronx.
Scout Bobber or Sport Scout? I wonder why the batwing fairing isn't an option for an add-on for Sport Scout or Chief but can option it for Scout Bobber. New rider looking to get one ordered as an reward to myself after i lose a lot of weight. 181lbs lost is the goal in under 1 year. Strict mostly water fast will be how i get there. Will take vitamins, but to avoid the nausea of taking them on an empty stomach, I will eat 1 small piece of candy with the vitamin daily. 316 days by my calculations will be needed to complete the goal.
For me, it's between the BM and the Indian, but I wouldn't see much point in owning a second boxer engine, so realistically it would be the Indian. However, I'd have to ditch those awful, long wheelbarrow exhausts, to replace them with shorter slash cuts, like on the Triumph.
he 2" travel rear shocks result in a terrible ride, always crashing over bumps...and the riding position puts an enormous kink at the knee.. it will be super uncomfortable.
I really struggle with understanding the new Sportster. The old one was such a nice bike. Both in looks, character and price. But the new one? Expensive, ugly and no character. I would take the Honda Rebel. (Which should be on this list mr Bob) I would probably go with the Triumph. That bike looks like a bike that has been "bobbed". And with that lowdown grunt....yummie!

For me it was between the Indian and the Triumph Bobber, I ended up with the Bobber.
And how it turns to be? Im looking to get a Triumph Bobber
I like the triumph. I own a sports bike and tired of always cooking up an omelette when I’m stuck in traffic. That lifted seat looks appealing.
At the end of the day, styling is one of the most important part of these kind of bikes.
Triumph every time.. bobber Black or the TFC are dream bikes
Triumphs reliability would win it for me
Wow you Brits get spoiled!.. the price for the Triumph is 28203 pound here in Denmark... but the best looking of the them imo
Not being taxed to hell and back isn't luck.

He did. Its a third party making these that only sells heavily customized bikes and only works on new triumphs. Its insane price still tho.

I would've replaced from that comparison the BMW with the Honda CMX1100. I believe it is closer in looks with the other 3.

Why the Nightster (975) and not the sportster S (1250) like the Scout?
Because the sportster starts at $17k. Nightster and Triumph are in the same price bracket.
I'm not convinced that the BMW is actually a cruiser by most people's definition...?
Love the look of the Triumph bobber but the 77hp and over 500lbs just kills it for me. Went with a r nineT, lighter, faster and still nice looking.
