Hello from London - That tour guide was absolutely awesome - it’s so nice to see someone young ding such an excellent job in a role that is so important nowadays - more so now than ever before. This has really cheered me up - bravo 👏👏👌
Indeed, he was not only very knowledgeable but you could tell he was passionate about it with the way he presented it. Glad it cheered you up friend! Cheers
Wow!!!. Thank you for posting!!!. Ive always wanted to see inside this house!!. Have seen pics but this was awesome!. Thank you!!!. And, btw, all that furniture WAS the Vanderbilt's!. All originals!. So cool its been kept intact.
Our pleasure! We are happy that you enjoyed it 😀 We also have the breakers mansion video on our channel which is another one by the Vanderbilts so check it out. And please subscribe!
If I remember correctly, the gift shop was actually built first as a place for them to stay while they oversaw the work being done. Took the tour years back.
I'm not entirely sure the Vanderbilts were trying to "imitate European royalty" by having separate bedrooms. My parents had separate bedrooms and if I were to marry, I would want separate bedrooms as well. Does that make my family imitators of European royalty? If it does, I had no idea until today!
Well! We can certainly, see how they feel about the tourists! They're sending them down the SERVANT stairs! Ugh! I hope these people aren't paying much for this tour. Why should they? They're not being paid much respect in return for their patronage. I would be appalled if I had to use the servant stairs! It's absurdly, inconsiderate and rudely insulting! At this point, I'd be insisting that my driver get me out of here!
Why is this is a problem? It allows people to see the bowels of the house and how people lived back then and get the feel of all it’s spaces, both private and public.
❤The tour guide did a great job explaining the Vanderbilt history elaborately! I learned so much just by watching this. Thanks for sharing!!😁
Glad you enjoyed it!

@@sunsetanddreams6373 Awesome!. I'll watch it!. Definitely subbed!!. 🥂⚜️❣️
Wow, this was great. Glad I hung in there with the narrator (at first his wave of speaking got on my nerves), but he really knows his stuff!
He definitely does and was really passionate with his story telling
I bet this place would be great for a ghost tour!
Didn't think of that but that would be an awesome ghost tour!
I'm glad to see the stonework facade & cement curbing outside, all dark and mildewed. Now, I don't feel so badly, about my place.
As long you are happy watching the video! :)
LOOKS like a mausoleum. 😏
A little bit creepy for sure
Excellent
Thank you!
More light 💡

Definitely an interesting question!
$1k and holidays!
Not sure what that means but thanks for watching!

At least they let us record so I'm good. The Edith Wharton house did not let us record the tour guide

@@salnellen1381 Not sure why but they should!
The tour guide doesn't even pronoune their name correctly. They're Vanderbilts, not Vanderbelts.
Didn't even catch that. Thanks for pointing that out!
They wore money belts. Just in case. 🤑

Poor lawn maintenance. They should have saved the company instead of trying to live in luxury.
The Vanderbilt's did splurge in living luxurious. Look at this mansion in Newport RI: ua-cam.com/video/VaIM7Qsug58/v-deo.html
Omg clean your camera lens. Blurry af
The tour guide sounds like a broken record. The most boring lecture about the most boring people of history.
Crap quality video
