I was definitely there! Still have the long sleeve...travelled on a minibus from Hull with a bunch of guys from the old Rock Not Pop indie metal store.....
Met Chuck more than once tho, one of my musical heroes. Gene Hoglan was staying over the road opposite me too when he was doing some recording at the same time of the gig too.
Saw them on this tour. I was only 12 years old or so. My old man took me to the gig at the Astoria. Loved it. The levels of musicianship were amazing. He hated metal but was blown away by the controlled ferocity. We still talk about this gig and the Pantera/Megadeth gig he took me too.
For a father that hated metal he sure did take you to some amazing concerts. This tells me two things he may have secretly loved metal music and would do anything to make his child happy. That is one amazing father if you ask me.
so cool everyone watch suicide machine 91, 93, 95, then 98, His vocal and scream transformation is so cool cos he couldve easily done his old voice he just mastered the horror sound he always wanted, Long Live Death Metal Himself!
Just think about the insane bands represented on stage. Chuck Schuldiner (Death) Steve DiGiorgio (Sadus) Gene Hoglan (Dark Angel) Craig Locicero (Forbidden) What a fucking lineup!!!
Watching Death's live footage always blows my mind, especially seeing Chuck's ability to growl his lyrics while playing some sick riffs and solos simultaneously, RIP master
I never get why people are that impressed that a skilled musician can play and sing at the same time, unless they are the guys just starting and have to look at a fretboard to know what they are playing.. Skilled musicians devolop muscle memory where playing is just second nature and singing over it is super easy.
Holy shit, i hope i've been in a Death concert on another life/universe or whatever that makes us travel across time and space. R.I.P. Chuck, u was not from this world!
I was at this gig!! Absolutely brilliant night & great to re-live it with this video. Thanks for sharing it! All of the original line up of Cradle of Filth were at this gig too as they were recording their debut album (The Principle of Evil Made Flesh) at Academy studios just up the road in Dewsbury. They took the night off from recording specifically to come to this show. Great night!! \m/\m/
I honestly don't remember but a leather jacket with a Slayer patch doesn't really tell me enough. I bet if I saw a picture of you I would remember you. P.S. I have only just seen your comment so I'm sorry for such a late reply!
Every single cover He makes is better than the original, it made me completely forgot this was a Slayer song, a band I never liked enough, I even met Tom Araya when I was working on Metal Militia in London, nothing like Death, the think with Death I just never gave it a chance because of his comment he made once in an interview about the Death Metal scene going too far with guys tattooing pentrangrams to prove how masculine they were, that really created a big split in the scene at the time, and I was fresh outta Catholic school so I had grown to hate Christianity forever.. but I can still hate Christianity and love Chuck, but Slayer even though went to the anti-Chirstian side, never ever ever did it for me, and it's not gonna change now either Chuck just makes any song sounds beautiful.. so there you have it. 💜
Hoglan is a fucking monster, not doubt about it but he never reach that jazzy perfection of Sean's drumming. Gene always had a more "metal" style in his playing. And that's crushing too.
Forbidden was definitely "related" to the metal elite (in addition to being up there as well). Forbidden/Vio-Lence/Death/Nevermore/Slayer/Testament - their members went far and wide!

Ha cool, I did the lighting for this show, awesome set, but they got really fussy and just wanted red lighting all the time and no strobes. Needless to say they got the lights I wanted to do with the limited equipment available at that time in the club.
That is Craig from Forbidden playing guitar in this video, I was living in Oakland at the time and playing in a band called Thanatopsis, and I remember when they came there to rehearse with Craig. We had opened for Death at The Stone in SF just a months earlier on the this same tour, and they had a different guitarist who's name escapes me, Andy Laroque from King Diamond played on the "Individual Thought Patterns" CD but NOT on the tour! Great set/video BTW, thanks for sharing it!
Dang dude, they played philospher better then off the album on this show! Chuck is so damn good at singing and playing at the same time. Gene hogland on drums is kick ass too. Hes a great drummer guys.
Indeed man. How some 'metal heads' at this level of musician ship can't give the wrong identity, even when the video clearly shows the person in question it puzzle me. Anyway, watching C Lucicero head banging whilst playing the guitar, is like a vortex of infectious energy. On my opinion one the best formations Death could ever had, due to performance. As for innovation creation-skill, Paul Masvidal, Sean Reinert and James Murphy.
Yeah 93 94 must be the best time. I mean when death metal wasnt wrestling yet and melodies have been intellectual still(not just fast, you can tell that those guys arent simpletons) And who is the cliff burton guy
That is Craig Locicero, from the amazing thrash band Forbidden. He toured with Death in '93 after the recording of Individual Thought Patterns, since the second guitarist on that album was King Diamond's Andy Laroque, who just played in the studio.
Steve digorgio , craig locicero, gean hoaglin , never seen this before, bieng from the bayarea ive seen Sadus, firbidden evil , dark angel , but not sll together,
Chuck did hire Ralph, but Ralph didn't do the European tour, they asked Craig to do it last minute and he filled in just for the Euro trek. It was pretty common knowledge at the time when this happened, was reported on in Metal Maniacs and the Euro 'zines. There's other footage from this tour on YT where he is mentioned and seen more clearly. Wiki doesn't mention this but trust me, I know Craig personally, that's him.
Hey man I'm just now seeing this nice job I've seen death once in Atlanta in the US it was awesome. I'm a massive dead fan just like the rest of the world!!🤘🤘🤘🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you for posting this - For many years i lived off the Death Live in Eindoven . There wasnt a lot of quality videos of this musical GOD. Was watching a lot of the Wacken shows with various artist and when Possessed came on it got me depressed because Chuck should still be taking the stage . What a loss and god forbid i ever come across the Drs or Admins that denied him care over $70k up front fees. Makes me sick .

mantas mantas KEEP THE METAL FAITH ALIVE ♥ yeah, Chuck forever
The (killer) line-up at this show was : Chuck Schuldiner (guitar, vocals) , Craig Locicero (guitar ) , Steve DiGiorgio (bass) and Gene Hoglan (drums).
Too bad Craig Locicero never joined the band. He does great in this
Good ol' Craig
@@KlumSyTurtl3 That dude is having a grand time!
@@cosmokramer4703 No he doesn't
@@FSATA agreed. I think he's one of the weaker guitar players compared to their previous and later albums with better players i.m.o.
To all you guys who've seen Death live.. yall are blessed...
At the tender age of 17 in 1993...one of the best shows I've ever seen!
i have literally the number 0001 ticket from last Death live
I first saw them on Spiritual healing tour, had no idea who they were and they completely blew me away. Human tour was fantastic too, with Kreator.
I am agree with you
Spiritual healing tour / Toronto
This is the reason UA-cam is invaluable.
Seriously man this is special
The 11 people that gave this a thumbs down have no idea what they are seeing. R.I.P. to the mighty Chuck. Death lives on, forever.
more like they didn't like the quality in some parts of the video, people are picky
I know right...! WTF
No they were from the upside world, even there they live death.
i only disliked cause the recording quality is god awful
@@ahmedtood but we have the video and also is one that show us really good takes very close to Chuck
I was at this gig, must have been about 8th time i'd seen them, I met Chuck and the rest of Death at this gig, quality times.
Lucky you :(
Your lucky
Met Chuck more than once tho, one of my musical heroes. Gene Hoglan was staying over the road opposite me too when he was doing some recording at the same time of the gig too.
I was here too. The one and only time I saw Death. Good times indeed
When you watch these shows the only thing you wish is that you could have been there! R.I.P. Chuck
Exactly fuck cancer
Luckily. I was there!!
I was there and I filmed this footage !
Those fucking screams!
DeathinHD Chuck Is The Beethoven Of Death Metal
It’s crazy how chucks voice sounds very polite but when he sings, he’s a different person
Steve DiGiorgio is god of bass metal!!! Fretless bass!!!!
@Mr Mega Chonks I saw Megadeth//Pantera too in Wales when I was about 14 💚
awesome
u saw death and pantera ?!?! lucky fucker

Most powerful vocals were from this year for sure
Just think about the insane bands represented on stage.
Chuck Schuldiner (Death)
Steve DiGiorgio (Sadus)
Gene Hoglan (Dark Angel)
Craig Locicero (Forbidden)
What a fucking lineup!!!
Through the years no body Thanks to guy that filmed the concert THANK YOU FOR FILMING THE RIGHT MAN IN EVERY SOLO.!!

Why

So legendary! I miss Chuck so much. Death moved a generation and defined the genre. Brilliant musicianship here.
Locicero & Schuldiner, killer guitar combo
I personally liked Chuck and Bobby combo the best. Andy and James were great too, but the best chemistry musically for me was in Symbolic.
INSANE combo :o I need to ask Craig what's the story behind this :).
Forbidden was definitely "related" to the metal elite (in addition to being up there as well).
Forbidden/Vio-Lence/Death/Nevermore/Slayer/Testament - their members went far and wide!
mvunit3 - The story is Craig stepped in and did the European leg of the Individual Thought Patterns Tour.
